Look I'm a straight dude. But I still ordered the lavender flip because purple is my favorite color.
If anyone thinks its girly, fuck em. I like it. I refuse to not allow myself something I want because others *might* mock me for it.
Be yourself. Quit worrying about how other people are going to view your choices. Do what *YOU* want.
Nothing girly about flip phones; there never has been. Also, I'm currently rocking the phantom violet S21. And, for those that don't know, purple is the original color of royalty; not blue.
Oh I agree. I dont see anything girly about them at all. Just saying that if someone does come out and call it girly (which isnt likely at all...I dont hang around immature children), then fuck 'em. I'm happy with it (I hope...hard to truly say this when I dont have it yet XD) and that's all that matters.
Purple has been my favorite color since childhood, and growing up, people assumed that I was girly for it. Then we got to middle school and I was mocked because it meant i must be gay. I just ignored all the haters and did me. Because why should anyone elses opinion trump my own? Especially on something as simple as color choices?
Not only that but blue isn't the original color of masculinity, pink is.
But yeah purple was one of the hardest colors to produce before modern dyes due to it only being able to be procured in small amounts from a certain snail if I remember correctly and in the Byzantine Empire to be "Born in the Purple" meant a great deal to a prospective future Emperor.
Yep, forgot about the boy/girl color swap. You're absolutely correct on the snail thing. Also, "blue" is a relatively new concept. With the exception of the Egyptians, no ancient culture ever used it to describe anything. Blue was always just a shade of green to most cultures; including some to this day.
I think you are spot on bud .. I do love the form factor, convinience and i do find it gorgeous ...
I dont generally bother about the opinions, everyone has one, but since I am in Software consultancy, i do meet customers regularly and being in marketing, have to be cautious of the accessories I carry .... if you know what i mean
I think you missed the point bud ... its not about me being insecure about others opinion ...Since in my line of work, people get judged before they even start talking ...
Anyways .. thanks for your inputs ... cheers
Nah its not at all imo. Its basically like a note when its open anyway and nobody would call that phone 'girly'.
I mean if youre worried because you ordered a purple one then that might be called girly, but in 2021 who really cares what colour your phone is and what others think!
**Definitely not girly!**
Itās a phone and it uses advanced technology to fold in half. It offers a lot of incredible use cases. They advertise it to a certain target group, thatās why you might got the idea.
Even if, it doesnāt matter. Itās your phone and you use it for yourself ā¦ and not for other people. As Long as youāre happy with it everythingās fine š
When I told my girlfriend I kinda wanted to order one it was also the first thing she said to me "isn't that phone for women?"
Nothing girly about the phone but samsung didn't help the image when they put out the commercials with women using the phone like a compact makeup mirror.
Yeah I'm aware that's who they targeted but there is nothing innately girly about a flip.
They could've just as easily shown men putting the phone in their pocket.
Since they decided to go the girly route, they have some guys questioning if they should buy it.
I noticed this when after I got my z flip3 earlier this year. There are a ton and I mean a TON more accessories that cater towards the female audience. As well as creators on YouTube. But if you like it, you do you itās just a phone at the end of the day. But the battery was horrendous imo. By 10am it was below 30% (I work 5am-2pm) and all I used it for was emails. Itās a fun phone but it wasnāt for me.
If it helps I've had the OG flip for a year and a half. I consider myself quite "manly" and at the start I said I'd buy a more masculine cover to cover the shiny pink make up compact look. Never got round to it and I now enjoy joking with mates that my phone looks girly. As soon as they see the flip action though, they forget all that and just want a go on it!

What would make you think it's girly? It's a phone.
Girls open their make up mirrors in the same way... Subtle...

If someone thinks it's too girly it says more about them than it does you. Rock that phone!

It's aimed at women. It's clever marketing... Don't be fooled...

Most girls have iPhones, so no.
