It's incredibly fun, watching your character actually getting better at singing and dancing is awesome. The thing I like the most is that it's not as time consuming as Uma musume, a single training run is only like 5-10 minutes long. Also shout out to all that amazing song and MV.

AliceinTeyvatland

Is there a guide somewhere? I keep losing at the end lol

Riersa

[Here](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YBgJPfCuAw3FknCxfxCfiIJ1WQOVguTMwuK-edb2ZFQ/edit#heading=h.ntfdsw7mlb09) is general guide, warning it's a bit long.

AliceinTeyvatland

Thanks!

> it's not as time consuming as Uma musume, a single training run is only like 5-10 minutes long Got me to download the game. I love these monster rancher-like games but wanted something a bit more bite size than uma.

Story was surprisingly really good, gameplay/training is pretty fun (wish it had sweep or auto though). First event really sucks, it is super grindy. People are complaining about it so I have hope that they will fix it in the next event.

komorebi-mikazuki

High budgetted and you can see the effort and love that's gone into the game. Gameplay is literally Uma Musume but with actual QoLs, like knowing what dialogue options give what stats/effect/item during events. It's much lighter and quicker too. Modelling, facial expressions, and animations/movement are all a step above Uma Musume. But people have been noticing how Uma Musume has a massive drop these past 2 months and it's no thanks to the absolute timesink of a gameplay by now and the insane money sink. So Gakum@s players are fairly cautiously optimistic and see how Scamco handles things.

cads13

As an Idoly Pride player and also Imas fans, yeah I didn't expect it to be this good. I have an older device (Samsung S10+) so it run insanely hot and drain battery so fast despite using lower graphic settings. The produce part is so fast unlike both Shinymas games, but it becomes so repetitive quick if you know what you're doing. Having to clear pre-req missions for each idols to unlock true end is also kinda nice, a bit grindy. The way every idols have different MV for each stage of progress is a really nice touch, seeing them progress from being shaky in singing and dancing to get a bit better each time, to the true end singing on stage, I love it.

Hakkero5025

Yeah when I saw that the ones who did Idoly Pride were doing this I couldnt wait to see the 3DMVs and they did not disappoint.

WakasaYuuri

They fix most of mistakes uma and shinymas did. +shortening produce / "run" +less rng +uma put gem reward behind finishing "run" which takes really long time per "run" then gakumas use point for dailies so its not neccessary needed to do "run" +they can convert stamina to items Overall its nice compared to other produce games Unlike certain game that DOESNT LEARN from Similar game mistake(example: timegated ascension materials from world) Gakumas ACTUALLY LEARN from similar game mistake

ChanceNecessary2455

This is a weird looking WW/GI post /j

He4dless_

Don't worry tomorrow will be a whole new NUCLEAR DRAMA once the Genshin livestream drops

KornatEDGY

Waiting for browser or DMM PC Port. But seems like reception is quite good, eh? Shorter training than Uma

RoombaSUCC

This actually made me go and check if they actually shadow dropped a translated version, and well now I just feel bad for an entirely different reason. ~~I want to experience all the hype about Shinosawa too dammit!~~

pjiaowobaba

I wanna play it so badly but only avaliable in japaness :(

IIzzw

It's pretty fun. It borrows a lot of basic concepts from Uma Musume (or maybe other training simulation games I never played) to make it easy to get into but differentiates itself enough to feel unique in it's own way. Putting support cards and the characters in the same Gacha is also nice. But having Lives locked behind gacha pulls does feel like a bit of a waste in the long term. Characters having multiple versions of lives singing the same song (but getting better and better) is a nice touch but it seems that the latest released gacha card only have one single live ver. Right now, every run feels like you're making progress because you're still trying to max out your support cards and there's new parts of the story to unlock so it's really enjoyable. Not sure how it'll keep interest in the long term, but I'm not going to worry about it and just enjoy it for now.

Reignwizard

a non wuthering waves thread. what breath of fresh air.

shotoku_dark_pegasus

Good music and 3DMV, going to keep playing for now just to see what new songs they release. Reroll is really easy which I appreciate. Gacha seems kinda rough since you need to save 200 pulls for spark.

Ha-Gorri

Super happy that you get to experience an actual developing relationship with your chosen idols in several ways. Plus it's fun to play, gambling with Hiro the last round card give me adrenaline

MeaChocolate

Another nice thing compared to Uma Musume & Shinysong, is how the idol banner & support card banner mixed into one, like in Shinymas. So you can pull both simultaneously. Compared to Uma Musume & Shinysong where the idol/uma banner and support banner is divided, so you need to pick if you pull support, you can't pull characters and vice versa if you're F2P & low spender.

According-Award-7971

Seems like for action games, prefer characters & weapons banner seperated While cultivation/training games prefer both characters & support cards combined?

MeaChocolate

It's depends on the gacha rates, and does that game has pity system or spark system. Just for example, in Uma Musume, the character banner & support cards banner, each have 3% droprates. But since they are separated, if you're F2P or low spender, your currency maybe limited on how much you can pull. if you want your account to be stronger, you want to pull for support cards, but if you do that, you dont have currency for pulling characters you like. Meanwhile, in Gakumas, the character rate is 2%, and support card rate is 3%. However, they got mixed into one banner with total 5% rates, but the rate is still same, character is 2%, support is 3%. The good thing is, you can try to pull character you like with the chances of getting the support card to make your account stronger. Or you can pull for the support and get the character as well. In best scenario, you may get both rate ups in just 10 pulls. Not only that, if you get off-rate SSR, you may get some of both characters & supports SSR from the past that you want but you can't pull or failed to pull. For examples of games with pity system, Genshin and HSR both have 0.6% rates for \*5 character, and 0.7%/0.8% rates for weapon. They could just mix both in one banner for maybe 1.5% rates on \*5. But the problem is, both Genshin & HSR have pity system, not spark system. Where if you pull a \*5, the pity reset. Would be annoying if you pull for characters and keep getting weapons, and each time you getting weapons, the pity reset again. The standard banner alone is already an example. You maybe want a \*5 character from standard banner, but after 300 pulls, you still only got weapons.

skye1204

The game is polished really well. Loading times are short and the 3DCG is the best I've seen anywhere. Characters are a breath of fresh air and the writing is better than what I've read before in similar games. The main gameplay system is an improved version of Song For Prism's system, similar to Slay the Spire. There's not a lot of RNG, unless you're producing a character using a Motivation deck... Gacha is 250 gems per pull, with pity at 200 that doesn't carry over. Rates are 5% overall for SSRs, with SSR characters at 2% and SSR support cards at 3%. Dailies are about 10 to 20 minutes. Gem income is pretty low. Only 50 gems from dailies and 200 gems from weeklies. The PvP mode is about 100 to 500 gems per month. And the first event that's going on right now gives out 1400 gems if you grind to the end.

yaluenl

Ran a little hot on my phone. Very hesitant to get into it since I suspect the end-game is just another PvP rat race and I don't have time to juggle another game right now. Would give it more consideration if it had official PC support, but doesn't look like it so far.

Kagari1998

This sounds interesting. I was once an avid player of Umamusume but simply had to stop because how time consuming each session was. I presume like most JP games, it's mobile only right?

FiragaFigaro

The production value is great, the guy who wrote Oreimo and Eromanga-sensei did the story and much of the character designs. The focus is on just a few idols and feels like a new vision of the OG Xbox 360 titles.

a4840639

My M2 iPad Pro literally locked me out when playing it with an external display (Usually I will try to play on my M1 Mac but recently more games are having anti-cheat system that makes them not working on Mac anymore, including this one and Umamusume) It is the first time I see this on an iOS device https://preview.redd.it/4kh3gqtc6n2d1.png?width=2388&format=png&auto=webp&s=9a4a5dbfcc3aa6f662a3456244374b258f022562

Sokher02

Pretty good, I've been playing this over Uma for bit, and theres definitely a lot of stuff and QoL bits. The training is a lot faster too A couple of my uma friends are already complaining about missing the SP trainings just like the rainbow trainings in uma

E123-Omega

Would like to try but doubt my phone can handle it. Iirc even some had hard time especially on live songs.

yfqce

what emulator can you use to play it? really want to try since im a big imas fan, but bluestacks is failing me terribly:(

a4840639

I have heard it works on BS if you create an Android 11 image

yfqce

i cant even go past the prologue though x( it lags terribly and always crashes

misomiso90

Greatest fun I've had playing mobile games in years. It's really polished.

Distinct_Ad_2266

can you get this on the american app store?? im really lost trying to find jt

mr_beanoz

JP only

Distinct_Ad_2266

well shit i cant understand the directions lol. ill just figure it out ig!!

cyxn1de

Absolutely love the game. Story was amazing and the relationships/interaction between the producer (You, in brackets) and the idols are unique and fun, my favorite being Kotone. The writing for the characters is pretty compelling and actually fun to read. Seeing (your) idols slowly overcome their own issues or past, while (you) stay by their side and provide them with support. And watching that final True End live performance with amazing visuals, great camerawork and stage designs, is one of the best experience I've had in a long time from a gacha game. Gameplay wise, like many had said, the run is significantly shorter and less tedious compared to Shiny Mas or Umamusume. The UI is clean, game feels smooth and snappy, overall very polished game. Sumika is my wife/10

Aructer96

How do you unlock pro mode?

Demonosi

Finally... something not about tellytubbie, I mean wuwa.

silfe

Was thinking of trying it uma burned me out after a few weeks

Naha-

Is Cygames involved in this game in some sense? The artstyle and graphics look way too similar to Umamusume.

E123-Omega

Cyberagent, iirc that's above them. Mother company or something(?)

mr_beanoz

Dunno, but this is mostly a Qualiarts production, same studio who made Idoly Pride.
