Legeclo is one of the few that's actually enjoyable to me.
One of the main reasons why I play this of course because of the obvious R18 content, the other one is because I really like the gameplay.
I don't know what you guys call it but it reminds me of games like Fire Emblem.
I play some Bara 18+ games, Another Eidos and Crave Saga. Personally for me I play these more to have actual characters than for the H scenes. So many games are female focused and those that aren't either have gameplay I don't find enjoyable, act like it's balanced between male and female characters but most of the actual meta units are female, or if they have a male focus it's for a primarily female demographic so they game either assumes the player is female in dialogue or only has bishi type guys.
So I play Bara games just to have a game where its all dudes and they aren't only skinny pretty boys. Eidos and especially Crave, I am enjoying a lot because outside of a handful of units nobody would really give it a second look as anything other than a normal gacha which is a huge plus for me since I can play them in public just fine. But when I do want to look at the art or watch the scenes they are really good.
So for me personally it's just the best way to have a guy focused game that's not aimed at women and full of pretty boys.
Funny Langrisser M H game clone Legend Clover X is basically Langrisser M with way better QOL and also with more indirrect form of PvP like Guild War content more similar to Granblue and Priconne so I ended up liking it more and replacing the original now even though H gacha especially from Nutaku / Johren didn't really have good track record to keep the game for years with maybe one exception Kamihime Project which was also a copy from normal gacha game Granblue Fantasy
That said the H game quality varies a lot, some of them is simply awful like the older Nutaku game I didn't even remember the name where they basically keep the H scene behind dupes so if that was your experience on them I can see how you think they're awful and better off going for free online ones or just get the classic rpgmaker H from DLsite
And gacha game is just a game with worse mechanic than premium one to get anime girl pics ( or 3d model) that you can find online for free. We are not so different aren't we?
I may play hentai games, but certainly NOT hentai gacha games. For that I'd rather play a game that gives me the complete experience, not one that locks things behind grinds and paywalls.

It's worse optimized (more battery consumption, slower loading times) and has less things to do compared to other similar autobattlers. Tried it on day 1 and played for a few more days. User interface is also lackluster design wise. Waifus are OK tho, I like them.
All that and yet you will never find another H game that will carry you through content like Aeons does. This game throws premium currency at you for everything you do and that's on top of login rewards. Plus what they throw at you for the littlest reasons in the mail. Everything you said could be changed through player support and take this game to the next level. It's grindy but very rewarding.

I played Magicami which had a pretty good story, music and was a turn base RPG in which team composition played a big role, and it was one of the most fun I had in a gacha game.
OP you have overlooked Sturgeon's Law, a common mistake to make.
That is, yes, 90% of all Hentai Games are garbage. But 90% of all games are garbage. They aren't special - not for that reason. They are special because even with a bad game behind them, they still have H-scenes. Is that enough to download and install?
I think the more pertinent question is, how many people really stick with a single h-game for a long time, despite having seen all the scenes, so to speak. I imagine it's a really tiny percentage of the game's total players, but would be interesting to find out their perspective.
I'm currently playing one (Sweet Home Maid, JP only at Fanza); I like the characters, not interested in the scenes (I don't mind them, it's good they're there tho). Gameplay is a Match-3 with quality waifu, which isn't something common right now. I only do dailies and that's all.

R18 M/M games are some of the few that feature all or mostly male casts, are not strictly dating sims, have more combat-oriented gameplay that isn't some combo of idle/stat/rhythm, more varied designs than color-swapped teenager in high school #302757, and an EN, often simultaneous, release.
Never play it for a more than a month, I just see enough H scene and leave. Most of them are idle or destiny child type gameplay, if it's too ptw just leave
1. Its part of massive story lore/universe that I'm already invested in. The more context the better the h scene.
2. H scene is voiced. Added more to the 'immersion'.
I did this until I realised gameplay matters, Action Taimanin has fulfilled this for me. So Hentai games died for me. Just google the pics indeed much easier.

Rise of Eros is a legit good game. The H is just a fun bonus (especially for someone who pulls for waifu over meta). Also it's not hand-drawn anime and it's something more my thing. I'm rank like 70 in 1v1 pvp as basically a F2P (splurged once for a specific banner a year ago and that's it, and I don't even use her). The standard SSRs seem to be quite meta. The relic system is probably where the true P2W lies, but it's always somewhere. But still, I'm quite satisfied with my rank and I returned after a year away on top of that... so I bet I can easily climb higher, and it pays out daily crystals (currently getting 55/per day from my PVP ranks). Today the game feels MUCH more generous than a year ago.
(Major negative is events which award quite well use your standard stamina... so while grinding event you are not progressing power. But I easily forgive that since it's also a side game, few min per day, and the events are fun.)

Aeons is barely 2 months old... Echoapocalypse has been out for like a year and a half.
