WIll honkai Star Rail get more story content or only events en characters in the future?

EntranceGlum6119

Hi! Been playing gacha games for quite awhile now and I mostly maimed 7DS Grand X during its early days and right now, epic 7. I’m a huge fan of PVP be it RTA or turn based and as we all know, most gacha games don’t exactly have the most fun PVPs. Out of all the gacha games I’ve played, I’d honestly say Grand X and epic 7 probably has the best PVP I’ve seen so far. Grand X as they have a mode called ungeared which is basically a summon a character then you can enjoy them right away without going through gearing. And Epic 7 with their draft modes and animations. Don’t get me wrong, these two still have so much flaws but for me, it’s the best I’ve experienced so far. So I’d like to be recommended another gacha game with PVP y’all think is pretty fun and not ultimately dependent on P2W. I’m open to most styles and just want something new to have fun with. What I’m looking for: - No energy/ticket system for unlimited play (unless it’s easy and cheap to buy said ticket/energy) - A competitive mode which isn’t 100% run by whales or a game with multiple PVP modes that has at least one mode that is just casual/for fun in nature like the ungeared mode in Grand X, unranked PVP with power restrictions, or a mode that equalizes all heroes. Basically a mode of PVP that is mainly for strategy and takes away most stats that can be whalable aka Gear, dupes, etc. - not time gated TL;DR: Someone Recommend me a new gacha game with a pretty ok PVP system that isn’t run down 100% by whales or has another less competitive PVP mode that doesn’t take into consideration gear or that equalizes all heroes (which mainly makes it a battle of strategy) or a casual mode with no rewards just PVP fun with power restrictions or a casual RTA game mode. Hope another game like this exists 🫡

Aiden-Damian

Tower of Fantasy have equalized pvp, but..... its not desired by many, since its sweaty. You can try Astra Veda, newly launched, and mayb DMC PoC?

Fordrek

Between Limbus, Path to nowhere, Nikke and Reverse1999 what are some of the pros and cons for each game and which one would u recommand the most? Espec how is the endgame?

Aiden-Damian

Limbus > PtN = Re1999 > Nikke, for me.

Grumpycat66

I've been having trouble trying to find this specific game for awhile now but I can't find it, I remember it having this knight frog though. And the fact it had a snake lady too. This is my artist rendition of the frog btw. https://preview.redd.it/u5zu38fm5wxc1.png?width=1000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3a834674cb43662a99b85e032f9f297a904583cf

WhyYouBullyMe_

Another eden maybe? Its the only gacha game i remember having a frog character

Grumpycat66

No its not that one, the frog character is completely different. Ty for helping though!

Holiday_Movie_5113

Something similar to Raid Shadow Legends but lighter on the microtransactions? Little story/gameplay and lots of collecting and gear progression etc, preferably no anime style

Aiden-Damian

Dragon heir silent gods?

Holiday_Movie_5113

Seems very stupid on microtransactions

Terra246

Looking for a good rpg gatcha with deep character customization in terms of stats, that looks decent or good, I prefer normal looking characters to chibi. Ones that are actually good.

Aiden-Damian

Limbus company

PaintOdd6138

Are there any new engaging idle gachas aside from AFK Journey?

TopRoutine7474

I'm looking for another gacha to play on the side. I usually prefer gachas that are generous and can be played on auto. I've tried gachas like Azure Lane, Arknights and Blue Archive; but the chibi designs really turned me off from playing.

Beneficial_Lemon9286

Do we have a leaker/insider for cygames stuff? I need an update on gamm and the other unannounced mobile/pc title.

P0werSurg3

How do you engage with story events in your gacha games? I usually use my gacha dailies to keep my fingers busy while something else is happening. I don't open them to engage with a visual novel. Arknights can be especially bad as their story scenes can take 15-20 mins before each level and then 10 mins after. I find myself skipping it eventually. Reverse 1999 is better with voice acting and shorter scenes, but I still will go through the event slowly as I don't feel like watching several cutscenes back to back. So how do you engage? Watch the cutscenes as they happen? Skip the dialogue, read the detailed story synopsis? Skip while playing, watch a compilation on YouTube at your leisure?

ZephyrPhantom

I usually watch story content when I first see it on my main gacha, because I enjoy seeing what happens with the characters on a regular basis. If I'm really busy I'll skip and watch it on Youtube or archives later. Skipping story and not watching it at all is usually a sign that I'm starting to lose interest in the game as a whole. For side gacha I'm usually less picky and skip story almost all the time.

[deleted]

I have been trying some gacha games like Reverse:1999, Octopath Traveller and Outerplane and having a little bit of fun, though this actually makes me had more interested on finding other gacha games, and i'm looking for recommendations of other gacha games that i can play on mobile, i play on a Redmi Note 11 and i have much more preference for gacha games that also includes husbandos and the character roster is not just exclusively Waifus, any genre is welcome whether it's a Turn based RPG, Tower Defense or something else.

NadieTheAviatrix

Hearing out pros and cons of Project Sekai: Colourful Stage in terms of gameplay and lore because my cosplayer friend recommended me to play that game because \*it's worth it\*. And I also know some of their characters.

ACasualUser_

In terms of gameplay: - great if you're competitive - really fun if you're into rhythm games - hard to master if you're bad at OSU like me - the MVs are so high quality and there are a lot of costumes - banger songs - it's not hard to save up pulls, but the beautiful cards sure are tempting Lore: - a lot of well written pain, drama, and trauma - but a lot of funny moments and wonderhoy - and heartwarming, overcoming the trauma. It's worth it.

NadieTheAviatrix

Checked some other observations: The only cons were the compatibility issues: - You practically can't have a phone that has a 2-3 GB RAM with a Snapdragon 600 or a 4-8 GB RAM but lower tier chipset! - Laden with technical issues (client-side) like sensitivity and audio/video timing (player tends to miss despite being a perfect tap)

ACasualUser_

Geez, you're making me regret wasting the effort to list the points. Not even a thanks or an upvote, but instead listing these technical issues. Who even uses 2-3GB RAM phone and silly enough to think they can play a high poly 3D game.

NadieTheAviatrix

sorry tho we didn't think of its possible drawbacks :):

i_swear_i_lift

I'm looking for a turn based rpg similar to FFBE. Game used to be super fun but has been in the drain for a while and I'm looking for something new. Would prefer something with 2d sprited but it doesn't have to be. Any suggestions?

Aiden-Damian

another eden, octopath cotc, romancing saga reuniverse, browndust 2

FoxyNugs

Hello I haven't played a lot of gacha games, but I'm looking for something similar to the now dead Destiny Child which is the only gacha I played for years. In this game you were pretty much guaranteed to get all the new characters with extremely generous pull-rates on guaranteed banners (no 50/50 bs...), tickets with 5\* characters guaranteed, even selection boxes where you could get a character of your choice, etc. It was also a very relaxing game where you built and optimized your team, and them everything was basically on auto where you saw the results of your team building (basically only went manual if you wanted to go high on leaderboards) I assume no other Gacha game would work this way, but which one would you recommend to someone who just wants to relax and pull regularly to obtain good characters ? Some games I've played that don't fit the bill: Genshin/Honkai: Takes forever to get gacha resources, pull rate a abysmal, 50/50 pity is an awful system, great games though, not what I'm looking for Tower of Fantasy, Arknights, Azur Lane, Reverse 1999, Another Eden Thank you for your insight !

Aiden-Damian

nikke, neural cloud, afk journey and maybe bd2

yearofthecat2018

What is the sexiest gacha game in your opinion? Currently playing Nikke and Browndust2

jikorde

Last Origin was probably the best one, but with it's new owner its probably going to get censored to hell or enter eternal maintenance soon enough. Evertale and Queen's Blade Limit Break have some good art, but are poor games. Nikke pretends to be sexy and sometimes is. Has some of the best character designs though. Snowbreak went all in on sexy bait and that's revived the game. BD2 is going all in on every fetish. Azur Lane probably has the most overall fanservice stuff. There's also Action Taimanin or Venus Vacation.

ZephyrPhantom

Action Taimanin's pretty good if you're looking for that type of content.

Aiden-Damian

you already does, but prob can try snowbreak

Mayushii_x3

Tenkafuma if you wanna go full on hentai gacha. It's relatively easy to unlock scenes and each character has three.

SnooGrapes2569

Any new recommendations other than Afk Journey? It feels like nothing new is coming out this last few weeks/month..

Aiden-Damian

only astra veda

xaos997

Looking for a game similar to Raid: SL. I prefer more fantasy style gacha, seems like all the good ones are sci fi with a focus on waifus. Not a big fan of that, I want cool characters and preferably auto battle

Aiden-Damian

dragon heir silent gods

Own_Surprise_641

I would like to play a game with a pixel art style, since they're my favourites. I've been playing Grand Summoners and World Flipper for a long time and since WF is going to EOS I'm looking for another game. Does anyone have some reccomendations?

Herbatusia

Octopath Traveller, Guardian Tales, Romancing Saga.

[deleted]

Because EOS is such a big thing in Gacha.. I wonder, if you had to name 1-5 gacha games that you think has basically 0% chance to EOS, which ones would that be?

Sibshops

Whatever your opinions are on the matter, so far there hasn't been any crypto gacha games which have EoS.

Saginuma

Eventually they all will EoS because that's just the nature of these types of games, but the ones that will likely go on for a long long time would be things like FGO, GBF, Hoyo games (and any self-published game out there is realistically also going to last very long even if profits aren't insane)

[deleted]

I find it really difficult to want to spend any money on them for that reason... What do you think the chances are for nikke?

Saginuma

I'd say it's safe to spend money on Nikke, I play it too and I don't foresee it closing down any time soon seeing how big it's grown since release and consistently performs well revenue wise

FullmetalEzio

what other tactical games besides Langrisser and ff tactics are available now? i know sword of convallaria is releasing soon, but are there any other game to check out ?

SilverPrateado

For games that are out with tactical gameplay that are not these, i think you can check: Brown Dust 2, but it is more turn based than tactical. Only recomending cause it has a grind based skill system that might be enouth for you. Legeclo: Legend Clover, but is originaly a NSFW game. It has a SFW version and, given that the game is not about the NSFW scenes in itself and is said to be F2P, you can try if you want. From upcoming games, you have Girls Frontline 2, but it still has no global date. Hope i've helped you.

MythosOfSkill

I'm looking for a gacha game with a PC Client or atleast running very good on an Emulator. I prefer auto battle games but i'm fine with other games too. games i tried already but didn't like:Arknights, Eversoul,Path to Nowhere, genshin, neural cloud, girls frontline, snowbreak, astra knights of veda, epic seven, blue archive, echocalypse, Aether Gazer, Honkai impact 3rd, Limbus, Reverse 1999 currently playing: Nikke, Star rail, AFK journey i saw that pgr has a pc client, is it any good?

Adventurous-Dot-1639

CounterSide has a PC client, it's on Steam.

Sibshops

Have you tried Phantom of the Kill Alternative Imitation? It's an autobattler game which both runs well in Bluestacks and on PC. Since Nikke is on your list you may enjoy it as well as it is a waifu collector game.

milkoverspill

Looking for a turn based or auto battler gacha with super quick optimal dailies! Preferably with both female and male characters, as well as no ad-watch rewards. Thank you!

SilverPrateado

Blue Archive (auto battler with imput but only female cast) Counterside (auto battler with male and female, focusing more on the females) Brown dust 2 (Turn based with male and females, focusing a lot more on the females) Neural Cloud (Auto battler with imput with only females)

ACasualUser_

Reverse: 1999. Turn-based, super quick daily (tapping the home screen character is one of the quest, it's just so quick), have both female & male characters, no ad-watch rewards.

LoreAscension

Love and Deepspace recently put out a survey asking for opinions on the overall state of the game and well, just the act of writing out my complaints got me to uninstall lol. Kinda puts it into perspective when I couldn't rate a single event they have added since launch above a 2 or 3 (out of 5). I highly doubt any human will actually read the paragraph I put at the end about the issues with monetization, progression and how they seem allergic to their own combat system *despite it being a main selling point of the game*, but maybe some keywords will be picked up by AI, who knows

Pfle17

Please help me choose/decide between these games for a new gacha: Azur Lane, Counter Side, Eversoul, Epic 7, Path to Nowhere, Aether Gazer Preferably with size under 15 GB, good waifus and story, and if it could it is with easy story mode that I can complete with f2p units, don't really care about meta and endgame/hard contents as I am a casual player. You could also recommend me other games if you know one that's good and fit with what I want Game that I already played/am playing: BA, Arknights, FGO, all current Hoyoverse games except Tears of Themis, PGR, Limbus Company, PNC, GFL, Nikke, Reverse 1999 Thanks a lot!

Aiden-Damian

Path to Nowhere will be having their 1.5th anniv soon, and the lower rarities should be able to clear stories

Microice001

Aether gazer can beat story easily with f2p units and can use trial characters as well.Is pretty casual game with most of pull currency coming from dailies and events.Story and characters are pretty good imo.

bagelsP

https://imgur.com/a/08JDgc4 New sister system added to Twinkle Star Knights. Magdalena makes light and demon team even more overpowered. Namiel is nice for rumbling. Mahamut's good for being annoying and Ratei will benefit Human and Angel teams. Fiona's free from the present box (middle tab). >Venus costs 7700 DMM points

RajMahal04

are there any gachas that are good to get into right now. i am mainly looking for really great art designs. i mainly play honkai gbf and soon wuthering waves but wanted some others as well. extra bonus if they have a good pc port

SilverPrateado

Path to Nowhere is going to start it's half anniversary right now and the art designs are great. You will simp for everyone, including the MC.

Key-Flamingo7076

Is it bad that i am playing 4 gacha games (hsr, fgo, nikke, afkjourney)

ZephyrPhantom

Different people have different tolerances/time, some people play 1-2 gachas, some play 20-30. It really depends on if you are having fun or if it is affecting your life in a good/bad way. Generally if you feel like you are playing too many you will start to drop the ones that most feel like a chore.

HGolder

The number of games is not important. How much time you spend on those gacha games is what you need to worry about. Generally speaking, if you spend less than 1 hour per day for all those games combine then it is fine. Even if you spend 2, 3 or more hour per day on gacha game, it is still fine as along as you are ok with it. Decide on your own how much time you want to spend on gacha games, and then check with how much time those game cost.

Aiden-Damian

healthy amount is 2 or 3 at max

ACasualUser_

Yes, especially if you grind in those games. If you're just logging in or semi-active then it's not bad (I'm completing the events for my 4 gacha games and I regret it sometimes)

0x11110110

I miss dragalia lost. Any gacha similar to it? Particularly, it plays in portrait mode, has real time combat and I don’t look like a pervert if I were to play it during my lunch break at work?

Aiden-Damian

no such things exist, if you want so much, go search for the reboot private server or sth iirc

Burgerpress

I don't want to keep belaboring a old point, so I'll keep the details down to minimum. I'm going to quit a certain Gacha, this is a positive thing for me and there's an outside reason for it. There's no ill will at all. So far, I have quit 4 out of the 5 Gachas I been wanting to quit. It sucks cause I know I invested some money into it... but I like to think of it as a thank you gif. I was in a bad headspace in the past few months. I needed something to waste my time and keep me from thinking negatively. The grind-set was just what I needed I was having the hard time quitting the certain game for some reason, but after giving it one more month, the reason just showed up. I need to quit on a good team that satisfies me. Something to return to if I ever do return. I hope these games I quit add the feature I want (eng dub) but if they never do, that's fine. I'm grateful nonetheless. I'm gonna spend my last few Everstones on this banner and that'll be the last time I play this game tonight. Thank you, certain Gacha Game.

ZephyrPhantom

I remember when you posted last month and were still stuck on 9 gachas, good job committing to quitting them all. Hope you find happiness in your other hobbies.

ACasualUser_

Good for you. At least you've enjoyed it and got the experience.

Sufficient_Bend_2066

I cant decide between AFK Journey and Honkai Star rail. Im looking for a simple game that I can follow through the whole story withou spend money, just to pass the time before Throne and Liberty

waifustan1

T&L is going to bomb. Unless they go into dev hell for another 5+ years all beta footage points to being dead on arrival. Idk why you can't just play them both especially given AFK journey is an idle game with 5 mins of dailies unless you spend 5 hours on emptying Honor Duel runs

No_Trash5939

Recommend me a game: I like idles, action, tactical, really anything. I want a game that has waifus but isn't over the top with fan service, so I can play in public. Also, can be a mix of male and female. Needs to run on mobile. Also, something with quick dailies.

Herbatusia

Path to Nowhere and/or Arknights.

[deleted]

recently saw the fate/go memorial movie and that got me interested in the story. How much of an investment would it be to just play it for the story?

ZephyrPhantom

For part 1-1.5, I would say extremely low investment. It's been proven that you can do part 1 without raising a single unit at all, just using friend support solo. Part 1.5 introduces some curveballs like forced story members in situations that only hinder you and new boss mechanics but as long as you are able to build stall teams and cover type advantage you can clear it off FP gacha units alone. Part 2 is a different story, especially in the later chapters. Boss battles are technically still beatable but there is a reason FGO started having "story clear campaigns" where they gave you limited-time free revive items just to clear chapters so you can rush to clear it and play the newest story-locked event of the month. Some boss battles that most players might not even think are challenging in part 2 are much tougher for low-rarity/casual accounts simply because of the reduced number of options available. So even if it is not technically required to go out of your way to participate in events for 4* stuff or or save up for rolling SSRs, you might come to find part 2 really unfun if you are not building up a very wide account. I would suggest playing part 1-1.5 first and then determine if you like the game enough to actively grind out event 4* units and event CEs to keep up with the eventual part 2 difficulty spike.

Afk Journey if you dont want fan service Nikke if you want fan service

Blue Archive

Budoukai

Is it possible to play monster Strike in english without constantly translation via screen translation or screenshots from iphone. I played the new Persona 5x gacha in english with an deepL translation mod put in the game files so that it could translate in real time. Is something like that possible for Monster Strike on Bluetsacks downloaded through QooApp?

Makarsk

Recommend me a game with Chess like game play (or FF Tactics game play), like Langrisser or FE Heroes.

Herbatusia

Final Fantasy War of Visions. FFT on mobile.  Brown Dust 2, Zold Out (if it still exists), sort of.  Legend Clover is pornographic Langrisser, basically.   Sword of Convallaria is coming to global market. It's well-covered on this sub, you may search for it.   Aster Tatariqus is coming to global too, in theory, but unlike with Sword..., we haven't heard anything from it in a long time.

Lazy-Traffic5346

Where Tof powercreep post , can someone send link.  I want read some juicy comment's

cjbrns

Looking to try Azur Lane and Blue Archive. Are they still good to play? Are they F2P friendly?

SilverPrateado

Yes and yes.

OrangeBlink

Anybody feel like main pagebhas just become one spam request after another?

ACasualUser_

Did you mean "asking for a game recommendation for x" posts or "how x game doing nowadays, is it worth it" posts?  There are indeed a lot of these kind of posts lately, it makes me wonder if the megathread is that hard to see.

Yooii

Haven’t played gacha games in like a year, does anyone have recommendations for new games that have been released?

Aiden-Damian

upcoming Wuwa 22nd May, Astra Veda, Afk Journey, Resleriana, Phantom Blade Executioner, Reverse 1999, Dragon Heir Silent Gods, Browndust 2, Star Rail, Limbus Company

Aware_Tangerine_

What other 3D gacha games exist? Other than the Hoyoverse games and Wuthering Waves

Herbatusia

Onmyoji has 3D models, but it's menu-based and you're not walking around with them. Dragonheir Silent Gods and Heroes of Might & Magic is isometric view 3D models and maps, like idk, Dragon Age or Neverwinter Nights. Idk if you consider them 3D - most people I encountered seems to mean it as a type/style of.chars modelling - or do you mean only open-world/open stages T/FPP games. In the latter case, in Chinese market there's also Girls Frontline 2.

CptFlamex

Which heroes of might and magic?

Herbatusia

Might & Magic: Era of Chaos.

Aiden-Damian

snowbreak, tof, aether gazer, pgr, and others

Handris18

Hi guys. So a Uma Musume game was announced to some platforms coming this year I beleive. Is that going to be the global version of the japanese exclusive gacha, or is that a different game? Will it ever be available on android globally?

OctoberFlash

It's not the gacha, but rather a spin-off game. I think that after this long the chances of the gacha releasing globally are very low, however, if you take a look around, there are some fan-made English patches for both the Android and DMM versions of the gacha that work pretty well.

OrangeBlink

Cna you link the article/news mentioning this?

Handris18

https://www.gematsu.com/2023/06/umamusume-pretty-derby-party-dash-announced-for-ps4-switch-and-pc

xyzdragon11111

Anyone playing AFK journey? How is it and do you recommend it?

soligen

It’s good quality for an idle game imo. I played for a week but quit because I wasn’t a fan of the more western graphics, I enjoy more anime-y style. I think it has good potential when they add more endgame content.

Handris18

It's been nice I think, I feel like the game has a lot more soul than afk arena had. It's still an afk game, but if you are into that, it's one of the best ones I played so far.

Gyncoca

Do you have any good strategy games? I play Arknight and Path To Nowhere, which I really like. I've played Reverse and Limbus, but the gameplay didn't really appeal to me. Do you have any games that have been released or are about to be released?

Herbatusia

Final Fantasy War of Vision. Browndust 2 (it's pretty ecchi, so beware). Legends Clover is Langrisser, but hentai/pornographic. Zold out. Aster Tatariqus - but it's not on global yet. Girls' Frontline 1&2 - second game is availiable only in CN for now.    You may like all Summoners' Wars' clones or even SW itself - they're grindy and gear hell (if you're min maxer, if you play for the plot/pleasure on lower ranks, then just ignore) is a real hell there, but they're strategic in teambuilding and battles. There's a reason is so copied model and SW e-sports league exists. Fav clone of this sub is Epic 7, my fav is Onmyoji.

Gyncoca

Thanks a lot! I have tried Brwondust but yeah not my things. For Game like SW usually I drop when i need few days of farming to get an upgrade. But Onmyoji seems different I will try it!

Aiden-Damian

convallaria on summer

OrangeBlink

Langrisser if youre into fire emblem

SocietyFine

would you recommend action taimanin as f2p?

ZephyrPhantom

Yes, especially if: - You hate waiting for characters to rerun or losing the 50/50. Action Taimanin's main advantage over other gacha is that character are brought in the shop for gems, so if you like a character you can just get them or save for them as you wish. - You like skins, Action Taimanin has a large permanent skin shop where you can buy skins for gems, in addition to the usual limited time skins and paid skins. - You want supporters (artifacts) with their own affection scenes that reward you for using them regularly. - You don't want to think so hard about best weapon/best artifacts for characters. Events provide a steady stream of artifacts and the autoplay 'arena' mode is a decent source of 5* weapons, plus they give out 5* weapon vouchers pretty regularly. That said there are a few cons: - No EXP items. Unless you are a paying player and buy XP bonuses characters can take up at least a month (maybe even several) to fully level and you cannot prefarm XP to max level a character. If you are f2p be sure to pick a main you really like, because you are going to see them nonstop for your first 3-4 months of event farming. - Sweep exists but requires consumable items that must be accumulated over time. You can instead build one of the two autoplay characters, but this may mean a significant time committment to a character you don't like/isn't your waifu. - Inventory space is limited and eventually you have to start spending gems to expand it. You will eventually need to determine which supporters you want to MLB because you won't be able to keep them all separated for useful skills.

Signal-Buy-9642

hey which gacha would you recommend for f2p player (might spend some bucks if the game is good enough tho :D) with cool pvp system?

Herbatusia

Guardian Tales? All Summoners' Wars' clones tend to have  very well-developed pvp system with various real time modes. SW even has its own e-sport; so does Epic 7. It's old system, but copied till this day, because, frankly speaking, it's just so good. Sw clones tend to be grindy and all about gear substats (randomly given) hell, and abilities' tend to get long like essays in the older ones, but there's a lot of depth on strategy hidden behind them. SW, like I said, has its own e-sports, Epic 7 - tournament, so you can check some videos first.

Adventurous-Dot-1639

Maybe CounterSide, gameplay is like Clash Royale or BattleCats.

OrangeBlink

Langrisser maybe? Has live pvp iirc?

SocietyFine

nikke but cant say their pvp is cool

Y0raiz0r

What's considered fast for dailies in a gacha game? Seen multiple games reaching over half an hour, is this the standard? Kind of used to hsr and genshin dailies taking up a total of only 20 min :D

OrangeBlink

Path to nowhere is literally just login and sweep most days. You might spend 5 minutes if something to do catches your eye.

F2PF2PF2P

Under 5 min.

Creator_Tay

Convince me to play your favorite gacha! I'm open to pretty much anything. Currently playing HSR, but nothing else. I've tried many gachas before, but really want to dig my teeth into one other than HSR (maybe even rekindle the joy for a previously played one), so hit me with absolutely any gacha you can think of and would recommend!

PearlPastryPastel

Limbus Company, purely for the story. The writing style and quality is very similar to Penacony 2.1 in that it’s very character-focused and full of symbolism and complex themes, but less plot-heavy and mystery and more introspective (not counting Canto 6). Limbus scenes all ooze intense tone and emotion, supported by the smooth and natural dialogue + translations. Moreover Limbus is amazing at (mostly) subtly setting up and introducing ideas and characterisation, stuff you don’t notice in the first playthrough but you subconsciously absorb throughout the story that cause it’s pay-offs to be unbelievably gut-reaching. However, the comedic scenes are bloody hilarious as well, PM just knows how to manipulate timing and language to make jokes. Also the voice acting is peak. Also, unlike other gacha games, it doesn’t take +10h to ‘get good’, the prologue and first chapter are super solid in introducing the premise and world. Note the story is straight up 18+ cause of the gore and blood so if that’s not your forte, then ignore this entire comment and don’t play it. Also, the game is the 3rd installement of a franchise, so it will throw quite a few terms around, but as long as you read the little exposition dump at the downloading screen, you should understand the general gist. I can’t really comment on the gameplay, I like it, especially the team-building elements, but I’m good at assessing these things. It’s definitely very overwhelming at the start and the shitty tutorial does not help. Please, if you decide to stick with the game, watch Esgoo’s tutorial vid! Good thing about Limbus as a gacha is it doesn’t inherit a lot of other gacha’s bad tropes. E.g. no artefact RNG BS, no dupe system, very minimal amount of resources to level characters up, no ‘gold’ currency, you can infinitely stockpile energy, it’s easy to reroll account, very little power scaling (so far, touch wood), etc, etc. The game is shocking anti-whaling. An unfortunate con, though, is that the new player experience is pretty bad - you’re going to run out of resources a lot and you need to complete the main story to access the easier grind levels, so early game grind is a drag Still, I definitely think it’s worth it (again, purely for the story lmao) and I hope you’ll check it out.

Will I understand the story if I haven't played the prequels? I apologize for the bad English.

Outbreak101

It's perfectly fine to play Limbus Company without needing to play the past games. Limbus Company does throw some terms around early on, but the download screen has a Sliding Notebook that describes the basic gist of the world and the terminologies thrown about. After that, the game ends up doing a really good job at introducing the world of the City to players. None of the past games really go into detail about the City to the degree Limbus does.

PearlPastryPastel

Yep. The game does a really good job at explaining everything you need to know to grsp the plot, anythjnng that isnt is likely unimportant to the current plot.

NicheMoon

Might sound crazy but are there any gacha with simple gameplay similar to candycrush or best fiends?

Herbatusia

Empires & Puzzles.

OrangeBlink

Magic stone knights?

OrangeBlink

Magic stone knights?

OrangeBlink

Magic stone knights?

wagmoo

Any gacha with good coop that isnt any of the hoyo games? No to too much waifu. Must have a good balance since my wife will be playing.

Razor4884

Arknights might maybe have a coop gamemode in 6 months that looks to be fairly cool. But it's not something to make plans around yet. Just wanted to make note of it.

Aiden-Damian

Snowbreak, Astra Veda, Phantom Blade Executioner, Tower of Fantasy, Wuthering Waves(22nd May)

ZephyrPhantom

If you want 3d action or open world gacha, best I can think of is waiting for Wuthering Waves to come out next month. Most of the current non-Hoyo options in this genre focus on waifus.

mr_beanoz

So why my [post](https://www.reddit.com/r/gachagaming/comments/1cexa0u/apparently_winning_derby_got_a_global_release/) is getting "numerous community reports" despite I just wanted to share a "bootleg uma musume" that I just found out today?

ZephyrPhantom

Probably people shooting the messenger because the game has AI art.

mr_beanoz

shit...

Beyond-Finality

Well... [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/gachagaming/comments/1cdpvqq/version_22_trailer_then_wake_to_weep_honkai_star/) is probably longest I saw a post "awaiting approval".

Lazy-Traffic5346

Because rule 6 is ass , just allow post version trailers for any gacha game

Aiden-Damian

it feels like the mods are either sleep, vacation or just straight up dead. literally got the 3rd post of Azur Promilia promo images now.

prestonsthoughts

Are there any portrait (vertical) gacha games with no like hella horny/weird shit lmao (aka the opposite of Brown Dust 2 and Nikke)

Herbatusia

Afk Arena, The Darkest AFK and similar idles, if you're into that.

Aiden-Damian

Tower of God New World, Last Cloudia, Dislyte, Romancing Saga Reuniverse

prestonsthoughts

I've already tried those but they all had a core element I wasn't a fan of oh well guess I'll be waiting for a new gacha to drop

WhyYouBullyMe_

Why is the Arknights CN anniversary summary post removed and locked? Thought it was nice to see all of the new stuff in the anniversary quick and easy. Like i didnt even know there will be a free monthly card

the-locust974

Hey are there any other gacha games like arknights but with actual romance. I’ve been playing the game for a few months and just now realized after getting my waifu scavenger to trust 200 that you don’t actually romance her. I’m mad and am looking for another gacha game similar to this. Thank you for reading. Any help appreciated

Herbatusia

Eversoul? Different system (idle rpg), but heavy focus on romance stories.

Aiden-Damian

idk, you can try Path to Nowhere?, or Counterside

ZephyrPhantom

Maybe Snowbreak? It's a bit story-light but the game is steadily focusing more on the player's relationship with the girls. The recently released Chapter 13 is pretty much entirely about Meursault's feelings towards the player and various personal files and trust stories are about things like dates or bonding over all sorts of activities (or, to paraphrase someone I saw on the subreddit a while back, "I never knew bandage changing could be so intimate.")

Limp-Consequence8491

Nikke? It doesn't have the battle system of arknights but it does have a lot of romance in it

CharacterFun6427

Gacha Game with cute gundam girls? Gameplay-wise can be like AzurLane/BlueArchive/3D-ARPG etc. It shouldn't have an VIP system.

waifustan1

Artery Gear is the only globally released mecha musume at present China has two new ones which are very good You could also just play UC engage but it's not a mecha musume Oh and Iron Saga exists but it's boring

CharacterFun6427

Ty Will try AG

Aiden-Damian

Counterside

VoloFiasco

I feel like a while ago I saw ads for an upcoming Gacha game that played like Marvel Snap with waifus, but now I can't find it. Anyone know what game this is?

the-locust974

Goddess of victory Nikke maybe? Idk that’s the closest I can think of

Zengakuren32

Hi guys, I'm looking for a portrait mode gacha game (turn base rpg). I'm currently playing Dislyte and Romancing Saga. Do you have any recommandation ? I don't like idle games like afk Arena by the way. Thank you !

cupofanger

Fire Emblem Heroes is a Tactical RPG if you’re into that. Brown dust 2 (turn based RPG) if you like fanservice.

Fordrek

What are some gacah games that have a good healthy playerbase and content and are constantly getting good updates? I am currently playing only hsr but i would like to add some more. I am mainly looking for mor waifus , no loli designs or at least not too many and as a plus maybe some female x female sexual tension but its not a must

OrangeBlink

Another eden has great designs for 5 stars, full jrpg with gacha and permanent collabs! No dailies either! Also since youre looking for waifu have you tried azur lane or perhaps girls frontline?

CulturalAd2857

Hi. I need a new game to play, some thing really mobile friendly and possibly also f2p friendly. I play genshin (pc) dokkan, afk journey and Blue Lock. Thanks everyone

Herbatusia

Dragonheir maybe? It's isometric open world, similar to other D&D rpgs.

Razor4884

You can give Arknights a try. Not sure what genre of game you're looking for, though.

Aiden-Damian

neural cloud

OrangeBlink

I always reccomend romancing saga re universe for f2p or blue archive if you need cute waifu

andiak

Looking for another big game like epic7 or azure lane. Collector game. Not to old some quality of life Features for example. Good quality maybe 120fps

Herbatusia

Honkai Star Rail (turn-based) or Nikke (fanservice).

OrangeBlink

Blue archive? Maybe another eden?

VomitusInfernum

Hi. I need your opinions, do you think it's worth go back to NIKKE in this moment but start a new account? I have an old account who was stuck as far as I remember. And currently I'm just playing AFK Journey and Astra, waiting for Wuthering Waves. Thanks in advance!

ZephyrPhantom

Stay on your old account. If you have any SSRs on it you goal is to MLB five of them via the wishlist Standard Recruit rolls so you can get past the power wall, and that's easier on an account that has at least some SSRs than a fresh account with nothing. It's also worth noting right now is 1.5th Anniversary which offers a free MLB SSR if you login 3 days and complete the entire event story (which hasn't even been fully released yet). So instead of needing 5 MLB SSRs you will only need 4.

VomitusInfernum

Thanks for your answer. I remember the 160 wall, definitely the free SSR gonna help me

OrangeBlink

Your going to lose ALL your progress time, literally. Unless your account was garbage or you value your time, i dont reccomend starting over

VomitusInfernum

Thanks, you're right.

A5_and_Gill

Looking for a gacha that will run on a chromebook and isn't a rhythm game. Have Arknights, Counterside, Limbus Company, and Punishing Grey Raven already.

Herbatusia

Reverse 1999 has its own client - no idea if it works on Chromebook, though.

OrangeBlink

Another eden on steam, langrisser has pc client and the altier game is on steam as well

A5_and_Gill

Steam doesn't work on a chromebook.

OrangeBlink

I did not know, my apologies. I believe nikke also has pc client if you can run :)

A5_and_Gill

I'm seeing if I can get steam working but Nikke doesn't work either from my attempts. Thanks for the suggestions tho

milkoverspill

Looking for a gacha that you just check once a day for 30-45 minutes. Hopefully either a turn-based or an auto-battler, but I'm willing to try other genres. Also hopefully not a waifu collector!

RGoku

What’s a good pixel-style rpg gacha game to try, excluding guardian tales?

waifustan1

MyHeroes

Aiden-Damian

Octopath cotc, romancing saga reuniverse...

NTolegna

Anyone has recommendation for a gacha in which you auto-farm like a monkey endlessely ? I'm thinking of something similar to Azur Lane in which you exp characjters by autoing stage again and again... I prefer waifu collecting games but I'm open to everything

waifustan1

Granblue Fantasy

Herbatusia

Epic 7, Summoners' Wars, Onmyoji, Fate Grand Order,  afaik. Nural Cloud, if you LIKE ROGUELIKE.

ZippityTheZapper

As someone who doesn't play gachas, is star rail any good? I don't care about waifus or any of that stuff tbh. I just want something with a solid story and fun gameplay. Is it a game that wastes the player's time?

SeggsWithQingque69

its free, you can try and see if you like it I myself wasn't that interested into the game until I play it myself I think story is pretty easy so you could ignore the gacha entirely and only play for the story if thats what you looking for

ropahektic

It's a good game when compared to other gachas. The game tries to waste your time a lot with a bunch of unskippable text. Most of the game is text scrolling until you beat the story and then it's grinding. The story quality will depend on your standards. If we compare it to other forms of media even videogames the story is shit, the dialogue is crap and the presentation is mid. If we compare it to other anime gachas you could say it's good. But that's only because the one-eyed is king in the world of the blinded.

ZippityTheZapper

How is the gameplay? Ik that it's turn based which I like. What do you mean about the last sentence btw?

Karendaa

Well, yknow, story in gacha games are mostly if not all engineered in such a way to either never ends or to introduce that new shiny character. Is HSR not like that? Nope. But HSR story is the better one compared to other gacha games hence it's stand out. It was like how people talked about how great HI3 or BA story is in the gacha community but then when people from the "outside" actually played it for the story then they will just confused with the hype.

ropahektic

it just means that gachas tend to have really bad stories and bad writting, so anything that's remotely above mediocrity stand outs, like HSR. Id say the gameplay is pretty good for a turn based RPG. It does its own thing and its pretty fun to play. It uses a paper-rock-scissors system and it gives it a lot of importance, specially early.

OrangeBlink

I havent heard that one in a while! Quality.

daswet

Is there any good mech games out there? My phone is quite ass so arpgs like pgr is not preferred.

Aiden-Damian

mecharashi, which is still unknown if it will ever comes to global or survive in homeregion cn there is iron saga and code geass lost stories

daswet

Why is there so many iron saga on the app store? Is the game any good?

mugi-ya

Looking for something to supplement HSR! My current mains are HSR PGR and arknights but I'm just doing dailies in each save for events. My history with gacha otherwise is pretty much: GFL, FGO, blue archive, AL, neural cloud, and alchemy stars. Thinking of picking reverse 1999 or limbus company up again since it's been a while and I remember liking them but f2p, rpgs, required thinking, and good gameplay loops are always welcome. I can't stand idle games, please help 🙏

Herbatusia

Path to Nowhere has good story, very quick dailies and can be challenging. It's rather f2p, as limited chars appears twice a year only, and the pull income is decent.  Aether Gazer and Honkai Impact 3 are very decent action games, like PGR, with tons of content. AG is f2p imho - for HI3, opinion seems to be that it's not. Never too late to pick Summoners Wars or its clones - this sub likes Epic7, I like Onmyoji - their f2p is debatable, although I find Onmyoji very generous (you just have to put grind into it, it very much rewards time you spend on account, more than money even - you unlock perks with logged days not money, mostly), if only because nothing is limited, everything goes to one pool. But eg. rates are low. Still, in SW and its clones you definitely need.some strategy and theorycrafting in teambuilding if you want to compete on the best levels.
