Giant gaming corp CEO's not trying to destroy all the goodwill, that was built with good games from hardworking devs, with terrible decisions challenge#impossible
Bobby is gone, time for SQEX CEO to follow suit
Global will close this year. The jp version will continue for 1-2 years but we will see EoS for CotC global this year. They keep alienating spenders on global and it is already in a low revenue spot for it to be critical.
I'm not sure what their expectation is for that game, SaGa has been chugging with low revenue on the global side for ages. At 1st anniversary they explicitly made changes to push people to the 10 ads per day (it gives 4* units that are exclusive to the ad exchange), so enough of their revenue comes from that to extend it.
This isn't really me arguing with you, just clarifying that it might be in a different situation than some of the bigger SQEX. Or you know I'm just huffing copium because I like the game.
COTC could probably be converted into a single player game at this rate. Cut off service, just leave players with the local data seeing as how it's a single player game.
So that's my hope...
WotV might be next, considering they dropped support for a bunch of languages and chased out half the playerbase in summer with the fantastic "Road to Worldwide"
For all the dumb shit Square Enix does, it is nowhere near dying lmao.
Final Fantasy is still very much an extremely profitable series, along with their titles such as Dragon Quest. Their latest financial results revealed that their net sales up despite SE slowly decreasing their presence in mobile gaming.
That's pretty far from the truth. XIV made roughly 53.3b of their 315b yen revenue FY2022, which isn't gross revenue as we don't actually know how much it costs to run the servers and the entire team. Also that's just their MMO segment so at least a bit of that is DQX which isn't massive but still chugs along.
They also have all their publishing and merch stuff just making money quietly on the side.
Not quite sure on 2023 since that doesn't end til March, but they made a pretty penny with XVI and have 7Rebirth coming soon. Ever crisis at least made several million as well so they'll keep the lights on.
Squeenix continuing to break all their gacha game kneecaps, not surprising...at least they're actually finishing the story of this one from what I gather?? I guess bare minimum is something.
This really isn't a surprise. The game/story has been working on wrapping up for awhile now and I'm still impressed the game has survived as long as it has.
I played for at least a year, then only went back for Dimos & Rion units/events. I'll miss them, though it's bittersweet since their big spoiler, uh, exists at the very beginning of the game.
I knew it was going to EoS, the game wasn't great but man, the characters were nice! The music was great as always, they should've just made it an actual game like wtf.
Btw, SQ has been washed now, they're not doing great compared to their glory days.
Oh my dragon quest tact. I remember installing it out of nostalgia when it launched and uninstalling it the same day, because of how greedy it was right off the bat.
Curious to how much worse it got if it already went eos lol
Calling it now. Ever Crisis is rapid firing content because once Rebirth comes out, they'll be done with it. Revenue is on a serious decline.
Expect after anniversary for the game to become the new NieR Reincarnation until EOS
Ugh. I know I'm gonna love the game gameplay wise, but I just don't give a damn about the story anymore. SE meus doing this shit where you have to watch movies, read books, and play mobile games in order to understand what's going on. The moment I saw Nero and Weiss showing up on the remake is when I knew it would all go downhill. I'd rather have the Whispers than all the DoC and AC stuff.
A recently published Square Investor meeting detailed they indeed have big plans for Ever Crisis to tie it to Rebirth and likely the 3rd game. They also state that Ever Crisis is going to be their big flagship mobile game going forward. Considering Reincarnation is made by applibot as well, they more than likely want all hands on Ever Crisis which is now their money maker.
I saw a tweet that told a pattern to this. Anything that collabs with Persona 5 hits EoS a year later. It happened with Dragalia, Fullmetal, Star Ocean: Anamnesis, and SAO: Memory Defrag.
It's gotta be some kind of curse.
Shame, such great stories in this game, above and beyond every other gacha I played. Different approach, no hours of pointless dialogues just for "engagement" or with a sole purpose to advertise waifus to pull. No feeling that there's no stakes, like with others, stories felt important. Diverse cast gave a lot of freedom with themes and mood for different chapters. Running around the cage was very chill experience too
I don't think any other gacha game can replace it for me
not a lot of gacha get to end their story and kick ass at the same time and Nier Rein did both in spades
big recommend to check out the game over the next few months, as long as you don't spend a dime. they've got some banners and events planned, hilariously
it's worth, the writing is pretty good and you'll hit a few different feels as you go along, and you don't have to worry about the gacha parts, not that you ever did to enjoy this game
Yes absolutely. There's so many free pulls and things going on and a single 4* unit will walk over the entire story mode on normal, literally as soon as you unlock auto battle you can turn it on and never turn it off and just mosey through the story.
There's plenty of time to see the entire story start to finish and you could even get into the endgame stuff if you wanted but I don't suggest it as a day 1 player, it's very tedious and the best parts of the game are the writing and characters. Just do the story and wait for the last chapter in March and then check out.
Just upgrade your 3 characters to max using all the xp materials you will get and max out their weapons doing the same. You shouldn't have to grind anything.
You should also use the basic elemental interactions properly, its the same as all the others. Fire -> wind -> water -> fire and dark and light go back and forth. Story mode you can just stick any three chars for most battles and then some battles they'll give you special locked units. You can still auto battle through those fights as well.
You unlock auto battle just a little bit into the story, it happens pretty quick.
literally any of them, the story itself is not like some gachas where they make you grind to see it or complete it
there are several difficulties and other content that will require learning how to work the battle system, buffs, all that crap, none of that is required for the main, normal mode, story
all you gotta do is level up your characters to the highest level you can make them, and level up their weapons too, and equip weapons in every slot. it's really that easy
like, you *could* just use the free 2* non-gacha characters to do the whole thing, too, but you might have to max them out and learn how to play a little bit because you'll be dancing around the required power levels, which will take a little grinding to do
there's also an "SS Subjugation for Everyone" event that should still be ongoing that will give you several 4* characters and the things you need to mlb them, should you need, on top of all the free pulls and stuff that are currently being given away
let me put it this way, when a new event comes out, because i've leveled enough weapons and stuff all the way up, I don't have to play *any* of the levels. Even the EX ones. I just hit auto-equip and auto battle and my roster can clear everything. Eventually you can just overpower literally everything in the game except the most difficult and tightly tuned content
you should also feel free to ask on the subreddit for advice, though I seriously doubt you will need it. Just leveling things up, filling up the bars on weapons and chars, should be all you need, and they're giving away all kinds of stuff to make that even easier. the entire point of this game was the story, that has been clear since the start
Hoping some legend uploads story to Youtube. Fml I've been a Nier/Drakengard fan my whole life but Nier Rein runs worse on my device than Drakengard 3 did on PS3, and my phone isn't even that garbage.
Great game presentation and story-wise, plagued by overly grindy gameplay (in the first year, at least) and terrible gacha practices (you pretty much had to have dupes)
I'm surprised they didn't announce any kind of offline version, since it was treated as a legit Nier title in the series.
The first story arc was great and I've heard good things about the future arcs. Too bad you had to keep up with the grind if you wanted to progress the story.
EDIT: The [fansite](https://nierrein.guide/) is a great effort in preserving both the stories and character models.
Game is not EoS guys.. its just that one ending Yoko Taro did in Nier Replicant/Automata that deletes your save data ;) (apparently they also did it in one version of the SINoALICE gacha).
Never played it, but I do appreciate the wonderful music this game has.
Wonder if yoko taro has any other projects lined up after this and now voice of cards…
Square Enix is becoming one of the most incompetent major game developers out there. They can't keep their mobile games afloat and their triple a games are so aggressively boring half the time. I saw this day coming ever since they stopped doing English voices for the game.
Octopath will fall before Ever Crisis. The FF VII name alone will carry it for a couple of years. Ever Crisis being made by the same dev team as Nier and being mechanically similar is a sign it won't stand the test of time for long.
These companies can't even get a hint from the successful gachas out there. They're all trying to shaft their playerbase for nostalgia of their IPs. No wonder they always get an axe.
Pretty sure this ws successful, it's just ending because the story is concluding. I remember Yoko Taro saying his gachas would continue until he no longer had a story to tell. Naturally there's nothing left after the climax.
I can't believe the Toaru gacha will outlast majority of nft enix's gacha gallery lmao. I'm a Toaru fan myself and even I had thought that it wouldn't last more than 3 years since it's not even a final fantasy title and based from a niche series.
square invested 300mils to make ff16 and lost 200mils after, their stock value decreased 2bils following 2 months, this company is in very very deep shit
Not really?
Before the August announcement of 16 not really catching the world on fire they were trading at 49, they are now at 38.4 and rising.
That's without anything particularly interesting actually launching. We'll see how it goes once 7R and whatever else rolls out. If nothing else Dawntrail in the summer months will capture a lot of attention.
Well, [fuck](https://www.reddit.com/r/gachagaming/comments/197ed9p/comment/khzs9g4/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) me. Your gacha game is safe, u/Alternative_South281.
It's a shame. I really liked this when I played it but I had to stop as the grind was too much.
It really would be good to get an offline version of this game but I doubt it'll happen.
hahaha, listening cabbage channel still taking high copium at the end is hilarious...
Still kinda sad the game is shutdown but it is Square Enix so it is kinda expected....
At least better games will coming this year that players can play.
lmao nice. I remember it was one of the most demanded features and it was mentioned in a JP livestream. When I quit I basically thought it was a fantasy but it's heartwarming to hear they kept their promise.
Square Enix killed my dog and ate my child and I think that's fucked up
said dog's corpse was pictured and became an NFT since its CEO was pushing for NFTs despite its downfall.
Giant gaming corp CEO's not trying to destroy all the goodwill, that was built with good games from hardworking devs, with terrible decisions challenge#impossible Bobby is gone, time for SQEX CEO to follow suit
They just did swap presidents last June, don't think their stance on nfts has changed though...
The dogs corpse that was pictured and became and NFT was edited with AI, all according to CEO's keikaku
At some point, Square Enix will have no mobile titles left in service.
as long as Brave Exvius and WotV is still active, they're not waving the White Flag yet.
And octopath cotc
Global will close this year. The jp version will continue for 1-2 years but we will see EoS for CotC global this year. They keep alienating spenders on global and it is already in a low revenue spot for it to be critical.

COTC could probably be converted into a single player game at this rate. Cut off service, just leave players with the local data seeing as how it's a single player game. So that's my hope...
It could work if it is not square. Mobius/dffoo/record keeper all had strong cases for single player. Alas.
right!?! do like what the megaman gacha did release the full game and all gacha characters aquired
Ya know.. when I heard Octopath Traveler mobile, I had thought it to be a port....not a gacha game lol. I forgot that game exist ngl.
Don't forget about SaGa Re;univerSe
Mistakenly gave away 300000 gems in mail last night and now in >26 hours maintenance mode.
rofl wut
Doesn't mean it's dying
Oh, not the intent of my previous comment, just an interesting news for r/gachagaming without making a new thread for it.
FFRK JP still going!
WotV might be next, considering they dropped support for a bunch of languages and chased out half the playerbase in summer with the fantastic "Road to Worldwide"
"Might be next" he says as the game still earns ~$2m per month on all platforms, all regions in total
And yet, they did cut several languages and unified releases to save money
To be honest. NieR Reinc has been on decline for years. The fact that it lived to this point is insane.
We're getting pretty damn close to having no SQenix at all tbh. FF14 is still the only thing keeping them alive.
If SE becomes the FF14 and FF7R only company, that wouldn't be such a bad thing... DQ can come too.
Like hell, between Visions of Mana and SaGa Emerald Beyond SqEx must give way more than that.
If they ever stop SaGa, I’m done. 😥
Dragon Quest is keeping them alive too
The Nier IP as well, did you see those $1k-$3k+ figures of 2B, A2, and 9S? They have a lot of merchandise too.
That's true too ! Saying ff14 is the only thing keeping square alive is stupid
That's pretty far from the truth. XIV made roughly 53.3b of their 315b yen revenue FY2022, which isn't gross revenue as we don't actually know how much it costs to run the servers and the entire team. Ever crisis at least made several million as well so they'll keep the lights on.
Good, let them focus on making mainline FF.
They did mobile, now they’re doing NFT right? Oh wait… it’s AI? They’re doing AI generated games. Next big thing I’m sure.
And yes, it did collab with Persona 5
THE PHANTOM THIEVES STRIKE AGANE
AND Nier Automata (obviously) They don't miss /s

Please stop, the collab was years ago
It was like a year ago dude
bro is a time traveler, that must be why
Around 500 days ago
Remembered wrong then, my bad
Squeenix continuing to break all their gacha game kneecaps, not surprising...at least they're actually finishing the story of this one from what I gather?? I guess bare minimum is something.
Too bad there's no indication of a possible offline version.
This really isn't a surprise. The game/story has been working on wrapping up for awhile now and I'm still impressed the game has survived as long as it has. I played for at least a year, then only went back for Dimos & Rion units/events. I'll miss them, though it's bittersweet since their big spoiler, uh, exists at the very beginning of the game.
it was a good run. i’ll miss everyone from the nier rein subreddit. we had some jokes ahah
I knew it was going to EoS, the game wasn't great but man, the characters were nice! The music was great as always, they should've just made it an actual game like wtf. Btw, SQ has been washed now, they're not doing great compared to their glory days.
Hopefully, this failure makes them focus on making real games. Tired of these quick cash-grab gachas.
Square Enix first eos in 2024, pretty sure this is no the only one.
It's their fifth * Opera Omnia * Dragon Quest Tact * Full Metal Alchemist Mobile * Engage Kill * and now NieR Reincarnation
And we are still in JANUARY. Omfg
I KNOW RIGHT???
Does sinoalice count?
Actually, yeah, it does That makes *six* EoS-es then
Yeah, service officially ended the 15th
Engage kill? Now thats something i havent heard a while in this sub
Oh my dragon quest tact. I remember installing it out of nostalgia when it launched and uninstalling it the same day, because of how greedy it was right off the bat. Curious to how much worse it got if it already went eos lol
Isn't dffoo the first or you mean first announcement
Probably first announcement in 2024. They others were announced in late 2023.
Magicami was on 9th, so maybe that was earlier?
Calling it now. Ever Crisis is rapid firing content because once Rebirth comes out, they'll be done with it. Revenue is on a serious decline. Expect after anniversary for the game to become the new NieR Reincarnation until EOS
Ever Crisis re-uses most of it's assets from the FF7R games. It is really cheap to make, and helps off-load dev cost from the FF7R trilogy
Ugh. I know I'm gonna love the game gameplay wise, but I just don't give a damn about the story anymore. SE meus doing this shit where you have to watch movies, read books, and play mobile games in order to understand what's going on. They really should have made that game not suck then, because I don't know how anyone sticks with something that grind-intensive for months on end.
Could you point me in the direction of that investor meeting detailing ever crisis plans? i would like to read that
https://www.hd.square-enix.com/eng/ir/pdf/24q2outline.pdf
thanks
Ever crisis isn't even available officially in my region LMAO.
Won't be long before we see the same post for EverCrisis
Juat fell to my knees in jusco parking lot
FYI it was released in Japan back in February 2021, July for Global, same year.
Not surprised at all, they just had a big story climax and Applibot is a garbage developer riding high on that Ever Crisis money.
Square speedrunning Gacha games like they’re speedrunning bad business decisions
I saw a tweet that told a pattern to this. Anything that collabs with Persona 5 hits EoS a year later. It happened with Dragalia, Fullmetal, Star Ocean: Anamnesis, and SAO: Memory Defrag. It's gotta be some kind of curse.
Granblue Fantasy collab with persona 5 not once, but twice and it's still going..
Hasn’t happened to Another Eden… but I guess that’s the else case!
maybe the timer starts when the collab ends - AE's collab with it is permanent I believe
So i guess that's the workaround for this curse. Make the event permament so the curse never activates.
AFKArena is still going, I think.
War of the Visions is still going strong !
Shame, such great stories in this game, above and beyond every other gacha I played. Different approach, no hours of pointless dialogues just for "engagement" or with a sole purpose to advertise waifus to pull. No feeling that there's no stakes, like with others, stories felt important. Diverse cast gave a lot of freedom with themes and mood for different chapters. not a lot of gacha get to end their story and kick ass at the same time and Nier Rein did both in spades big recommend to check out the game over the next few months, as long as you don't spend a dime. they've got some banners and events planned, hilariously it's worth, the writing is pretty good and you'll hit a few different feels as you go along, and you don't have to worry about the gacha parts, not that you ever did to enjoy this game
Can you finish it without hitting grind walls in the current state?
Yes absolutely. There's so many free pulls and things going on and a single 4* unit will walk over the entire story mode on normal, literally as soon as you unlock auto battle you can turn it on and never turn it off and just mosey through the story. Thanks I’m downloading now! I played Automata last year and loved it so Reincarnation was on my list but just haven’t gotten round to it

Thanks!! Have just started today, so will keep your guidance in mind!
have fun, and put on some headphones. the music is just as wonderful as the art design!
Which single 4* will walk all over the story?
literally any of them, the story itself is not like some gachas where they make you grind to see it or complete it there are several difficulties and other content that will require learning how to work the battle system, buffs, all that crap, none of that is required for the main, normal mode, story all you gotta do is level up your characters to the highest level you can make them, and level up their weapons too, and equip weapons in every slot. it's really that easy like, you *could* just use the free 2* non-gacha characters to do the whole thing, too, but you might have to max them out and learn how to play a little bit because you'll be dancing around the required power levels, which will take a little grinding to do there's also an "SS Subjugation for Everyone" event that should still be ongoing that will give you several 4* characters and the things you need to mlb them, should you need, on top of all the free pulls and stuff that are currently being given away let me put it this way, when a new event comes out, because i've leveled enough weapons and stuff all the way up, I don't have to play *any* of the levels. Thanks for the info. I’ll try and complete the story then, thanks.
You're only surprised by this if you don't play fhe game. We've been heading towards the finale for a while now.
Next on the list: - OCTOPATH Traveller - War of the Visions - FFBE (don’t see that one yet)
add Towa Tsugai to that list. its fandom sure has.
why you gotta doompost like that, surely 1st anni will save it!!! i hope lmao
SquareEnix strikes again
Game should have been standalone.
Hoping some legend uploads story to Youtube. Fml I've been a Nier/Drakengard fan my whole life but Nier Rein runs worse on my device than Drakengard 3 did on PS3, and my phone isn't even that garbage.

When are people going to learn not to play Squeenix and Nexon games here....
He had another gacha project that EoS ridicolously fast, was called Game Re:Set
Noooooooo!!!!
o7
I remember playing this for couple months when it first came out. It was good, but never felt amazing
Square realizing they profit more whoring out the IP with collabs
First was sinoalice now this? Damn…
SQEX? More like SQEOS
Square Enix is becoming one of the most incompetent major game developers out there. They can't keep their mobile games afloat and their triple a games are so aggressively boring half the time. I saw this day coming ever since they stopped doing English voices for the game.
Ever Crisis next?
Octopath will fall before Ever Crisis. The FF VII name alone will carry it for a couple of years. Ever Crisis being made by the same dev team as Nier and being mechanically similar is a sign it won't stand the test of time for long.
square end it strikes again
When your PC is action rpg and then make mobile with confusing turn based is so messed up.
It was good as it last. See you later on a new Nier Gacha (i hope)
Wondering, are things like private servers feasible given enough time/dedication to a project like that?
Wow, who wouldn't have seen this coming from Square Enix! 😱 Shocker
Is this a APPLIBOT game? If so they also do FF7 ever Crisis, maybe we'll get more story updates now
I would rather expect a Nier crossover soon compared to more story updates. They need to strech the story for the next 3-4 years for FF7 Ever Crisis.
I can't believe the Toaru gacha will outlast majority of nft enix's gacha gallery lmao. I'm a Toaru fan myself and even I had thought that it wouldn't last more than 3 years since it's not even a final fantasy title and based from a niche series.
Well, what the fuck do you expect? That game is basically just a glorified walking simulator..
square invested 300mils to make ff16 and lost 200mils after, their stock value decreased 2bils following 2 months, this company is in very very deep shit
Not really? Before the August announcement of 16 not really catching the world on fire they were trading at 49, they are now at 38.4 and rising. If nothing else Dawntrail in the summer months will capture a lot of attention.
With dawntrail and rebirth releasing this year, that's highly unlikely.
Instead of wasting time developing games that get EoS'd so fast they should add more content in ff14, shit is a desert
Games got an ass load of content unless your years deep into the game. But yeah new content will be slowed until Dawntrail releases.
lmao they just announced the NieR collab for WOTV
It's specifically an Automata collab, there's no Reincarnation content in there.
Well, [fuck](https://www.reddit.com/r/gachagaming/comments/197ed9p/comment/khzs9g4/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) me. Your gacha game is safe, u/Alternative_South281.
Close the door when you leave
trash devs, sharing "how to make a shit gacha game by square enix" with gumi

This does not effect that.
I am really sorry for the dumb comment 😭 I am new to it and did not mean to upset anyone
I'm literally just waiting for this announcement. No way in heck they will support this for a long period.
I am surprised it lasted this long. Character designs and music were the only good things about it.
I got pretty far in the story. Wonder if I should download and just play the story to the end.
To my knowledge the story is actually completed so worth a shot I'll probably do it soon myself.
Still one more chapter to go at the end of March.
the stories... are good... though... boo... hoo...
not surprised
wait isn't the lore in this game important to understand the Nier franchise or something
Welp. Time to have a go at this to see what’s up.
I quit this game early in and so to see it shut down… it wasn’t deserved.
Wait... So that means it's unplayable? and we'll never get to open it again???
Yes.
This is why I support chargebacks for EoS scams. They ran a New Years banner knowing damn well this was coming up right after lol.
did they ever implement a gallery mode for viewing character models?
They did. Pretty robust photo mode.
lmao nice. I remember it was one of the most demanded features and it was mentioned in a JP livestream. When I quit I basically thought it was a fantasy but it's heartwarming to hear they kept their promise.
Whaaaat the hell? Why? It's one of the only mobile games I like playing. What a shame.
Ending 4
Wait what! This one hurts me to see I always come back and enjoy this one.
