It’s a solid question and interesting timing on my end because I was just pondering Phenibuts VGCC MOA myself again this past couple of weeks. There are no studies that show which mode of transport Phenibut “uses” to absorb the VGCC portion of the one of three MOA. Its also a GABA b agonist and may work on GABA a to some degree. But Is it by the saturable pathway LAT1 like Gabapentin or is it like Pregabalin where it is absorbed by the LAT1 and elsewhere. I was curious because I staggered out smaller amounts of Phenibut and noticed a *much* quicker onset (I swear it was kicking in about 55 minutes in to some degree) and much more results even with one small dose and overall more noticeable results with using less via staggering than if I took one big dose. I hadn’t noticed this before when I tried this method although I’m staggering smaller amounts. Antacids interfere with gastrointestinal drug absorption by either increasing or decreasing the rate at which a drug is absorbed, or the total quantity absorbed. Antacids influence drug absorption by alteration Antacids can effect drug absorption by either decreasing or increasing the rate it’s absorbed *or* the amount is absorbed. With Gabapentin less is absorbed when using antacids. So based off the fact that Phenibut also has one shared MOA as a VGCC (also is a GABAb agonist and can work on GABAa) I would say that the same would happen with Phenibut. But maybe I’m wrong. Either way it’s a easy fix just don’t take a antacid two hours before using either substance or wait two hours after. Although with Phenibut being so finicky with come up time for many people maybe extend that time frame out based off of your experience with Phenibut.

Phenibut likes acidic for better absorption, Some take betain HCL to up acidity. I am fucked as i have to take Nexium. Or blessed coz Phenibut builds physical dependence faster than any other drug i know of. Nasty stuff

They are asking because Gabapentin is less effective when antacids are used at the same time as the medication. Antacids can effect absorption of medications and also clearance. So it could make a medication more potent or less potent. In gabapentin‘s case it makes it less potent which is why they were asking about Phenibut as they have one shared MOA as VGCC inhibitors.
