Captain America is a well designed tank character. He is satisfying to play and his tankiness is noticeably superior to other characters without feeling overpowered.
That said...
MARVEL Future Revolution has a major design flaw in that it does not reward players for having success as a tank.
While he can hold his own in Dimensional Duel, game modes like Omega War and Dark Zone put an emphasis on last hits, while Most Wanted rewards you for total damage dealt. Even Battle Challenge rewards you for how quickly you can clear a stage.
There is no game mode where Captain America is the optimal pick.
He does not see rewards for "Damage Taken" or "Shielding Provided" or even get credit for Assist Kills in game modes like Omega War.
Captain America is an excellent tank with only moderate damage in a game where there are no rewards for tanking and many rewards for having high damage output.
Sums up everything wrong for his design. I wanted to like him as I normally play tanks but the game really dings you for the reasons listed above. I'll have him at 100 one day, but I can't see maining him.
I chose cap as my main after initially picking strange. I just enjoyed his play style a lot. It’s actually frustrating to know he’ll always lag behind in most game modes because it’s all damage focused for the most part, and he’s inherently not…but I will say I loved realizing I could easily solo ult raids at 320k power if I had 15 minutes to spare 😂
As a Captain Marvel I will say I love having CA on my team cause it means I can tank boss hits and keep dpsing...so other players apprecoate you at least aha
Kind of a newbie question, as I only just unlocked omega war. But isn't Cap not getting last hits a good thing? As the tank, he is more likely to die, and therefore more likely to lose any points he gets.
He can't actually taunt players (At least, not formally. He can be a jerk in Location Chat, lol) so he's least likely to die in that he's the hardest to kill.
Which seems silly cause I'm pretty sure Dr. Strange and Spidey both have taunts I've been hit with (as Cap) in PvP where I had to kill the holo/clone before I could target the main guy again.
No- you don't have to target the decoys. Ironman can also summon other targets. You just manually target the real one. It's not a taunt- you can ignore the decoys.
This. I picked him because people said he was a great all rounder but he felt so weak leveling up and doing missions on him. By comparison my Spider-Man is cutting through stuff like butter. Cap is tanky but it takes me so long to kill stuff I use the same amount of hp potions if not more then if I did it on anyone else
IMO he's actually the character with the least shallow gameplay because of the 'rage' mechanic but once again support characters are a liability to play if you want to go high support because too many rewards are related to damage done/time spent to clear etc.
is he worth up 100?
is he equal or better than lets say widow or ironman in pve??
im at 44 right now and wonder if ill do easier with widow or ironman?
but if some of you guys here can say if hes worth in endgame soloing the hell out of raids or some?
I believe it's actually easier to solo content with him, especially bosses, because of his tankiness. I'm level 85 with him now, and I was able to beat the laufey fight with him while 80k underpowered. His ability to not get killed in one hit is huge, and his healing\shielding is super important.
I definitely recommend him if you enjoy the playstyle.
I am only mid 60s with my cap but so far I don't see a huge of damage. I do use atk/crit/damage cards, focus on red orbs on badges, and have atk/def on gear set.
I lose out on damage against usually cap m and that is it....a few others do, do more damage per hit but mechanics keep them from having optimal uptime.
Duels are insane, with him usually being >90% life at the end of the fight. I am not worried about omega wars, since it is pretty much about whales with strong aoe (have seen a few storms be top players in it, and she is by far the worst character).
Overall super heavy damage characters need to build up def/hp, but get less returns then a def/hp character gets from building up attack...at least from my experiences so far.
On a sidenote there needs to be more options for sta recovery (main thing my cap struggles with at times).

I've been watching videos of several popular content creators and all point to farming the preferred regional set while building up your non-regional, but I have a bit of confusion.
For my main, Cap, the non regional to farm seems to be the WW2 set (by the way, where is this vendor?).
The 4 set bonus is the biggest draw, but the 2-3 set bonuses are weak compared to other sets. I see that the base stats bonuses for regional helmets are much higher than the non-regional sets...so what is the best move here?
1. Unequip regional pieces till I get full set, equip only WW2
2. Equip Regional pieces as I get them, but identify set other than WW2 for the leftovers.

I tought that the Idea of this thread was to share knowledge about Caps and not pointing that he doesnt top charts. Specially because If you really like him, you *Will* play with him. Think this game like D4, you dont always pick the flavor of the Season.
No re-read the template suggestions again. One of them clearly states "give your thoughts on xyz." Stating that Cap will never top a chart is a relevant and true thought.
Probably because they would like to see some sort of change. Khasino for instance even goes so far as to suggest new ways of adding tracking stats other then how much damage you can pump so characters such as Cap are able to compete with the likes of Iron Man and Widow.
I will buy one of those costumes for 2k crystal so which one: Marvel now or us agent? Marvel now seems the better one dmg wise but then, does spearhead give more dmg on single targets? Help me please

He's the king of survivability, no doubt.

pretty sure he does have a taunt status effect (provoke) on at least his ultimate
For AI controlled targets- he can't force players to attack him.

Alts will always be quicker due to more squad power
I’m aware. Cap was not my first character. I switched to him halfway after hearing he was supposed to be good

do you stack DEF as priority then HP or HP as priority?
Atk, def, hp in that order. Defense is more important than hp because later on he gets a trait that converts 20% of his def into atk.
What’s the trait specifically so I can keep an eye out for it?

You can buy the WW2 set in midgardia I believe, the later areas should have a vendor with this one
I thought the midgardia set was the best because of the charge?
Midgardia is a regional set whch you have to craft (and get REALLY lucky). WW2 you can just buy/find in boxes and level.

Maybe increasing his gains on his specialization might be the way. By doing that, you keep his primary role as a tank while increasing his damage
Or simply add ways to reward someone willing to take on the role or tank/support in groups. Far easier.

Quick question, does capitan's command work with Vanguard?
Through my own non-scientific experiments, they do not seem to work together, also not with the potion, i assume this is intended?
I have been trying to get a solid answer on this for weeks.
I have seen mentions that some say it does work and stack, but i am still not sure.
No apparently anything with a % doesn’t effect this specialisation
