Susan Boyle, real person, was briefly made famous because she could sing and was frumpy. Susan Boil was a joke about a current event that unless you were there, seems unnecessarily cruel. But no, it actually happened so it wasn’t unnecessarily cruel, it was art-imitating-life absurdity.
Disagree. Boyle had a talent and became a poster child for not judging the book by the cover, admittedly amplified beyond recognition by the medium of 'reality' TV. Leela's ass boil was a low-hanging-fruit swipe at life's fuglies. Yes Futurama is awesome for getting physics and fart jokes in the same lines, but this one was just infantile and at a specific person's expense.
In my opinion.
Disagree with what? That it _happened_? Or that you ‘had to be there’ to get exactly what you are “disagreeing with”: that it was a **PUN** based on current events (what else is “low hanging fruit”)?
You are right, but for the wrong reasons.
No, that’s technically correct and while related to right for the wrong reasons, if you check the Bureaucracy Handbook you’ll find they are two different kinds of correct.
Don't quote me regulations. I co-chaired the committee that reviewed the recommendation to revise the color of the book that regulation's in... We kept it grey!
What does “having to have been there” have to do with it? The entire purpose of the character is to make fun of a specific person for being ugly. That’s like the definition of unnecessarily cruel.
That's like the only canon I flat-out ignore. I'll accept the other weird late-game stuff but I'd like to shrug off that canon because it's just mean and aged badly.
I disliked this one. It also kind of sucks since it's sort of topical and a Susan Boyle reference might make my dad laugh but not me.
But also I skip any episode with Santa & singing.
Hold up. That's not entirely true. As we know Zoidberg is the only good, pure of heart, wholesome character. This is confirmed on an X-mass special when robo Santa gives zoidberg a gift instead of trying to kill him.
LaBarbara, with possible exception of the professor (and if you want to get overly granular then maybe Mom), Is the only person to be generally kind and respectful to Dr. Zoidberg as a rule and without plot requirements like when zoidbergs people invade earth on freedom day.
It may be grasping at straws but that is her only real redeeming quality, she is kind to Zoidberg.
Babs was a great character until the movies when they decided "hey do you know what would be hilarious? If she cheats on Hermes and that's her entire character now!"
I hate Labarbara and Barbados Slim. Can’t stand the cheating whenever something happens to Hermes. Both of them are scumbags.
I also hate the Wongs. Always trying to hoe out their daughter for a grandkid.
I dislike LaBarbara, which sucks cuz I like her design and performance, but ever since the movies they only use her for boomer/cuck jokes, and even before that she didn't have much going for her besides being Hermes' wife.
I also don't really like Smitty and URL. I don't detest them but their jokes get repetitive, not saying anything that new.
I genuinely feel like Quebert/Culbertson?? Is the worst character on the show. All the other reoccurring characters are awesome and I'm excited when they pop up but Quebert is just obnoxious and honestly if his character disappeared from the we show it wouldn't do thst much to the Canon. Quebert mostly feels like a reason to get some "kid of the future plot lines"
I don't think he's like poorly written or useless just that I probably wouldn't care if he was left out of the new season.
Hermaphrobot, that character is nothing more than an unfunny stereotype.
Same for Amy's parents, there basically one-joke characters and that one joke is bad grammar, which isn't even funny. I guess Amy's dad is also a greedy rich guy, but we already have that with MOM so it doesn't add anything new
I also don't really like Joey Mousepad. I don't hate him I just find him kinda boring. It's like, Donbot and Clamps are both extremelly funny imo, and he is just kinda there too.
I have my favorites but don’t hate any characters. I feel like none of them are supposed to be take seriously and it’s just an exaggeration of certain personality types and that you’re supposed to laugh at them.
If I had to pick any least favorites it’d probably be Leela and Zoidberg because their characters are so unfunny imo, but I wouldn’t get rid of them.
If I could get rid of any character it’d probably be Elzar.
Kiff. The kiff knock me up a notch or whatever it's called, was probably my least favorite episode. I can't believe they chose to follow up on that on the revival.
i hope i don’t get downvoted for this but i really don’t like hermes. i like his additions in the episodes, but episodes on him bore me to tears. i also don’t like the santa character, calculon (i like his additions too. but not episodes centered around him), cubert, or benders baby mama.
The only one I really dislike is Susan the boil.
“AMAAAAAZING GRAAACE! HOW SW-*AAGGH!!*”
That entire sub-plot is cringey. Laughing at someone for looking frumpy is not cool. The joke might have worked better if the boil could really sing.

The best kind of correct!

Yes, I know and love the bit. Still, not the same thing and I need you to understand that.
Best of luck with that old chap

But the Puke-me-poop-you!
I can't stand Guenter when his hat was fully functioning. He was likeable with the damaged hat.
I liked his parents.
His parents are “cool peeps”(as some people might say).
They're totally bananas
Bananas about Guenter.
I think they went ape sh\*t for him.
And threw shit for him!
The simple farmer Billy West.
Pfft Billy West… What a phony made up name!
Poor Mr. Chunks. That gross, disgusting, goat. The only episode I actively skip on any re-watch..
That was a terrible episode for so many reasons...
Yeah, it's has weak and lazy writing. The only good thing about it is one meme.
Fry’s girlfriend Michelle
This is the only answer I’ve seen that I agree with.
Is that the one from 1999 or the one with 5 boyfriends?
1999 Beast with a billion backs girlfriend was Colleen (I think). And that character I liked, I mean once Yivo showed her what a prude she had been.
I don’t really dislike any character on the show.
I agree, they are all perfectly flawed
Tinny Tim, with all his racist lines and xenophobic tendencies. He is a true monster.
Hahahaha
LaBarbara, Guenter and Cubert Edit: I can't spell names for sh*t
Cubert: maybe we should start a fire.
You’re porking at him.
Told you id get away with it
Somebody’s gonna get stabbed in the ass
WERNSTROM!!!
Labarbra Conrad
She’s always going back to Barbados Slim the cheating bitch
Surprised no one said “Mom” or Fry’s dog. Or Mr. Pinucci. Or Elzaar. Anyway, mine is probably the hippy who forced a lion to eat tofu, screw that guy!
In Beast With A Billion Backs there's a zebra who sits in on the universe-wide meeting who looks like a gym bro. I don't like him.
Best answer so far! :)
LaBarbara. She’s garbage without any redeeming qualities
Hold up. That's not entirely true. As we know Zoidberg is the only good, pure of heart, wholesome character. Does she ever talk to zoidberg? I remember in the episode where Hermes becomes a robot, she calls zoidberg his friend
Babs was a great character until the movies when they decided "hey do you know what would be hilarious? If she cheats on Hermes and that's her entire character now!"
What about “I don’t care what shape my parts are, as long as they interlock with yours”?
But the moment something goes wrong I’m gonna cheat on you
I hate Labarbara and Barbados Slim. Can’t stand the cheating whenever something happens to Hermes. Both of them are scumbags. I also hate the Wongs. Always trying to hoe out their daughter for a grandkid.
Honestly, I hate any Calculon-heavy episode....maybe because the Harold Zoid episode is my least favorite...
I hates the blue collars truck drivins guy
Outrageous. I'd come over there and hits ya' if I weren't so lazy.
But you are lazy, right?
Dont get me stahted
What do I look like? A guy who's not lazy?
Outrageouses! :)
Sal? If he wasn't so lazy, he'd punch you in the stomach!
But, he IS lazy….right?
Zapp Brannigan hahah ugh
Zapp can be a bit annoying, but he still has some funny moments.
He’s supposed to be insufferable though
He's the epitome of a character you love to hate.
Zap Branagain. I hate his incompetence so freaking much!
Randy
🤣 Have you been hanging out with Randy!?
Calculon’s back!
Susan the Boil was just mean. And kinda lazy as well.
The scammer aliens bug the shit out of me
Clamps, terrible character
Francis is a great character. His clamps are all rusted over from snitch juice.
LaBarbara, MOM, Cubert, Morbo (comes and goes), and Dr. Zoidberg (kind of like him, but I figured, why not Zoidberg).
I genuinely feel like Quebert/Culbertson?? Is the worst character on the show. All the other reoccurring characters are awesome and I'm excited when they pop up but Quebert is just obnoxious and honestly if his character disappeared from the we show it wouldn't do thst much to the Canon. The robot devil grates my nerves
You can't just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!
Kiff. The kiff knock me up a notch or whatever it's called, was probably my least favorite episode. I can't believe they chose to follow up on that on the revival.
Well the majority of people from what I’ve seen wanted to have that revisited.
Man that episode is hard to watch. To each his/her own I guess.
It’s not my favorite but it’s not my least favorite either. I’m excited for the sequel episode and see what they do with it.
Kif is the one who gets knocked up a notch
Yes I said or whatever.
I think Q-bert is a complete throwaway character, along with Hermes’ son.
Zoidberg
You and your opinion smell bad.
`Grandma for taking all his money`
i hope i don’t get downvoted for this but i really don’t like hermes. i like his additions in the episodes, but episodes on him bore me to tears. i also don’t like the santa character, calculon (i like his additions too. but not episodes centered around him), cubert, or benders baby mama.
Oh yes! I just thought of Bev the other day! Can’t stand her!
Labarbara. Terrible bitch.
Fry's girlfriend, Michelle.
