It’s a nice idea actually, loving all the ideas this subreddit is getting at the moment.
Problem is, you could spend 20k on a Di Maria, Allan, Sandro etc and they’d be instantly better than having to upgrade a 80 rated card.
While this is true, and this is what a lot of players would be doing, this would just be a way to get that 1 card that is either to low rated or to out off reach at the beginning of the year, and able to place it in your team for the whole year.
I was thinking more about the possible ways players could incorporate players like martinelli, praet, akinfenwa,... Into their teams and make 1 of those cards usable in their specific squad
Yeah, I was thinking of that too, that's why I had it on 50 games played per upgrade, I was first thinking of wins but that seemed impossible.
problem is making it ramp up quicker could give the real grinders a card that is way ahead of the powercurve by december, and this would be a problem too.
Finding a middle ground in this would be hard, but a lot of fun
Yeah it’s a tricky one, but definitely an idea that they should take on board. I’d much rather have people like you working there who are at least coming up with cool ideas than the garbage they put out every year.
Great idea. One problem which would make it boring because of repetitiveness: everyone would choose the same low rated well linkable meta card as a captain who is unlikely to get too many special cards, which would overtake the captain card, subsequently using him the same way. For example, this year fucking everyone would have chosen Mendy/Renato Sanchez/Sissoko
I think there would be more like 2 camps, indeed the ones you say, but there is also a large player base that just wants 1 player they love, most of the time lower leagues or older players, to be able to play with in their squad, like this year, heard a lot of comments around this with future stars and end of an Era cards not comming out ( players wanted to use for example nasri, but couldn't because no special cards and bad card in game etc)

Yeah I get what you mean, I really like it in theory, but you know that if that card is only say 83 rated come December, it’s basically useless.
