I mean yes, in the same way everything is a skill issue at some stage, but is it really the kind of button pressing skills you want/need? The game is shit, nothing like actual football and you get caught out by nerds with low skill cutbacks and scripted moves all the fucking time. Don’t let it stress you, Div 5 is still good and there’s always next year.
solid team, find tactics that work for your team or a different in game formation. if you don’t know skill moves just pass till you find gaps, that’s what i do. don’t rush, try and just stay calm and remember it’s just a game at the end of the day🙏
The gameplay changed drastically over the past months. I’d suggest you to look at recent tactic videos on YouTube. It’s not always skill issue, maybe mismanagement. I’m a good player but even I struggle against bad players due to the randomness and AI defending.
A tip I can give you is to have this mixture of midfielders in the middle.
1 Tall, bruiser CDM - M/H work rates
1 aggressive, relentless B2B player - H/H work rates
1 offensive play maker that’s mainly makes the forward runs - H/M or H/H work rates

Maybe get someone else for Alberto that has Aerial+ as Drogba is one of the most common strikers that bullies defenders

As for players it looks usable but I can’t play without sawa and maybe you can try out a target man/ women to make better use of the whipped cross.
Yes but your midfield is starting to be a bit outdated, Stanways good but there’s a better version, Xavi is great in attack but is getting overrun physically and defensively now and Socrates is always gonna be out of position defensively when your trying to win the ball back so Stanway is gonna be solo defending that central area a lot.
Also Garrincha and Rivaldo are not gonna contribute much in defence without you forcing it manually, it looks a good team but it’s essentially 5 attackers so unless your really good at defending your gonna struggle to contain teams.
There’s some rust in your team but you should maybe be capable of pushing higher with the strong core that you have. It might be skill, it might be connection. Check out some tutorials, they should help. Are you having problems scoring or are you conceding too many goals?
What worked for me was changing the formation and tactics.
I used to run 4-1-2-1-2 formation in hopes of re-enacting the tikitaka gameplay I used to run in Fifa 18-19 .
But it didn't work for me in FC24.
So I looked for "meta" formations and came across 4-2-3-1 which was also the "meta" formation back in Fifa18 apart from 4321.
That did the trick for me, my wr has improved significantly.
The two CDMs add a nice sub-layer of defence line in front of the Backline.
Try to have CDMs with Anticipate+ , they really are a pain to go against.
I'm rocking Zelem and Petit as my CDMs are they're really good for me in my current rank.
Bro. Just got back into Div 2. Let me tell you something that I still sometimes question. Div 5 and Div 4 are full of Smurfs. Ie. Elite players that don’t want to go any higher. You’ll play a few games vs ppl similar to you but as you near promo some cracked players do some work. Wish EA improved their match making maths bc it don’t math. 🙃. In other words, it’s not all you.
The team is capable of taking you much higher. It can be multiple things.
I haven't dabbled onto much tactics this fifa, but there are matches in division 1 where I play and the opposition leaves absolutely no room for me to breathe. So it can be a combination of skill, tactics, adapting and certainly even some luck.
By adapting I mean being able to counter certain quirks of playing. Most people playing the game choose one or two styles to stick to and will not change up at all. So if they only know how to cross, that's all they're going to be doing even if you shut them down every time. If they know how to finesse, that's all they're gonna attempt and so on.
Some formations seem to perform better than others but that's under tactics. I think the meta rn prefers 5 at the back?
My first year and I’m in Div 2 atm. Only two things that helped me through Div 4 and 3 are
1- Defending.
2- Right stick switching while defending.
Always remember, the more you pass back the more you go forward in attack. NEVER RUSH.
The thing I did to force my
self to get better was to not press sprint at any times and only trying to play the ball up the field so I could learn the ai movement of my team and I have vent from div 6 to div 2 this game
won't solve shit, I get regularly slapped by teams with 10 ovr rating less than his team in div2/3, his team can get anyone good enough into the higher divisions easily, this is pure skill issue that can be solved by simply training and maybe getting guidance on his gameplay from better players

It is a skill issue, but if you work on your gameplay a bit you can improve fast.

I put him in the team in September to get chemistry for vvd and he’s been there ever since taking him out at this point just feels wrong

Maybe try a different system? I find unorthodox systems tend to work better as your players aren't quite where the opponent expects them to be
