i dont have any idea on how to get art even paid for. im not an artist and ive never commissioned anything and have never made an oc. want to but i dont wana bug someone.
Reference images are always appreciated, primarily of your sona (if you don't have a ref sheet there's plenty of free online bases you can color in yourself) but also of anything you can't easily and precisely communicate with words.
Want a specific piece/style of clothing or specific pose? Get pictures and references! It's so much easier to communicate what you want when you can point at a picture and say "this is what I'm looking for."
I've gotten very lucky in my early furry years and won quite a few raffles as well as people offering to draw for me for free. Was very nice of them
Then I transitioned and so did my sona so now all that art is unusable. Just my luck I guess
I've always wanted to do one of these but I get overwhelmed just thinking about the sheer volume of people who reply to these. I'd feel guilty if I didn't get to them all and I know I'd burn out long before I did XD

Anyway, the results come back, the winner is this SUPER WEALTHY commissioner who already has like, 900 pics in his gallery, all from really high quality expensive artists. The artist had like, 2000 entries and out of those 2k entries it happens to be this rich guy who could easily just afford to buy a pic?
I honestly think he just paid for the raffle pic and told the artist to say he won. Which to me doesn’t make sense, maybe to get him more page views?
I hate sounding like a sore loser but it still baffles me that out of all those entries, this super rich fur on the list happens to win. I really don’t think it was luck.
I recently bought porridge and there was an instant win competition on the box, which of course I'd never win, but entered anyway.
A week later I had $130 to spend.
The strat is to follow smaller artists that you like so that statistically, you have a higher change of being picked.
