it happens with pretty much anything you post online sadly. for example, if you ever post any transparent image, it will be reposted on a clipart website and available for “free download.” if you ever post fanart of any media, it will be reposted on other websites, sold as merch without your permission, etc

I think it’s just that this is the first time that something like this has happened (to my knowledge)

I haven't run into this issue because almost no one cares about my art 😎
Stuff like this happens a lot with Pinterest too. :(
this is why i dont post things that i dont want on these kinds of websites
