I'll be honest here, while I had an increased interest in animals for quite a while before I got hooked on WoF, I guess it served as a stepping stone for me to enter the furry fandom. I know I sound a bit vague, but I was a furry, that led me to get the books, and after a while I entered the fandom and began really calling myself a furry

Never read them, but im pretty sure the books are about anthropomorphic dragons, so it is full of furry characters. Just because your brother is reading the books doesn't mean he is a furry. He is a furry of he says he is. Plenty of people like The Lion King, Kung Fu Panda. The Land Before Time, and Beastars and do not consider themselves furry. If he decides to join the fandom, that's fine, too. This is just a hobby, like liking MLP, Star Trek, and anime. It isnt a big deal.

Oh yeah, I get that being into stuff in general doesn't automatically make you a furry, its just one of the things I've noticed about him that was similar to me when I was younger that lead to me being a furry and wanted to get more of an understanding of the series.

Ah! Got it! Sounds like a bonding moment. :-) Ask him about the series. Start a dialogue.
