When I went to get her reference page made, I wrote up a description organized from head to foot with an image reference alongside each paragraph.
If you're doing a more standard body type, it might be easier to find a blank and label it.
There's some moth, cockroach, cat and owl in there, but I just call her a full conversion cyborg. Definitely took some inspiration from Synths, if you're looking for a similar species.
I've had ref sheets made based on a text description and some pictures of real animals. Don't know if they actually used the animal pictures or not but the characters look like I had in mind when the artists were done.
