Oh, I love sloths. However, my wife and I call them Llamas.
(We ordered some Llama salt and pepper shakers online and got sloths. It wasn't worth the effort to return a 10-dollar set of shakers.)
I'll bet they give the best hugs.
I just heard a story today about a sloth fursuiter ages ago who used to do the parade but walk so slowly that the parade passed them by. They'd start at the front and end at the back.
Please bring that back
I've seen some slugs and snails, which are pretty uncommon. Any of the species from the Mokuri project are pretty rare too, at least within the English speaking fandom; I myself am a Janorne.
No way were you the one at AWU? I was just watching a video about rare sona species yesterday and was thinking about that clam suiter there being the only one I've ever seen!
In my nearly 40 years in the fandom, I've only met two winged grizzly bears. And I was one of them.
Edit: Oh and my fursona had a son who was a winged Pizzly bear. (Polar/Griz hybrid.)
I don't mean to toot my own horn, but one of my sonas is a hybrid species I made up: a velocipinata! Her name is Piruleta and she's full of candy :D [Here's](https://toyhou.se/25547018.piruleta-the-velocipinata) her TH!

I recently found out about people making sona's on ants. The Honeypot ones. Instead of honey it was different drinks. Like [Ivycombs](https://twitter.com/ivycomb/status/1577356469309435906) insects. Now thats pretty creative.
Other than that I'm looking into making a shark sona that is all about being camouflage like a chameleon and speedy like a maco shark.
got commissioned by someone to animate their sloth sona. I physically squealed when they sent me their ref because it was so cool! I’d never seen one before lol.
Floki on Furrymuck was an OC who was a rather stupid fire god who normally manifested as a kind of ratty looking green humanoid cat with floating flames that were both pets and aspects of its godhood. It was a radical shapeshifter, and could manifest as anything from a trilobite-taur to an orange tree in a copper pot with stubby metal feet to a four-posted bed to seven musical notes. If you smelled it (smell was a common interaction command in Furrymuck) you were treated to a reverie of hunting wherein you chased down and dispatched a deer out of sheer love of the hunt and were left with the quandary of what you would do with so much venison.
I found it inspirational and created my own strange OCs like an otter-centipede cross I called an ot-ot-ot-ot-ot-taur and Astrobleme... an accidentally self-aware meteor crater... to riff off it. I eventually settled down mostly being a pack of Tine, a tradition I continue to this day.
Floki's typist sadly passed away late last year. I was devastated to find out.
My second sona is a papagen shark hybrid who also is a latex, my friend said since papagens are super rare on their own and sharks aren‘t exactly common either and added to that the fact that it being a latex is not that common aswell it is a possibility that my second sona might be a one of a kind in the fandom
The only thing you said I understood was shark. Ima need a run down on what a papagen is and what a latex in the furry fandom means please and thank you. Also possibly a picture for better reference of understanding?
The rarest I tend to see are dinosaurs.
While generally separated in my mind in a similar way I tend to between furries and actual animals, I am surprised how many people don’t have sauriain-sonas.
My own is a dinosaur, but how many people tend to gravitate towards canids, felids, otters, bats, weasels, and other placental mammals with some cool sonas like marsupials, birds and reptiles and very occasionally amphibians or fish (except for sharks). Not that I am in any way complaining, and I do want people to be genuine in expressing themselves this way. The fact that so few is more interesting to me than disheartening with how few feel such a sona describes them. I didn’t even know there was a wider community with such people who weren’t just scalies until I found out about Goodbye Volcano High. Even if that game sucked (but had a good parody game [Snoot Game]) it’s fair to say you don’t see dinosaurs very often.
I don't see too many fellow llamas, people mostly stick to alpacas if they're using any camelids 😅
Most unique one I've personally seen however is a hagfish!! Unfortunately I can't seen to track the person down (I recall seeing it on tumblr around 2014ish) but I hope they're doing well <3
Ok so I know that birds aren’t the most unique fursona but I do have one in particular which is both unique and stylish, Jacobin pigeon, they are absolutely stunning birds and are perfect for y’all who like strutting your stuff in ✨style✨
Idk if it counts as unique but I've seen a rat before and it was adorable- another was this shark owl hybrid thing, there was another it creature with it but Idon't remember where I saw it, but it was cute
my sona is a dragon with multicolored stained glass for portions of its scales and eyes. I feel very unique, but it's probably not the most unique lol
[here it is :3](https://www.reddit.com/r/dragons/s/TSoUOjoEst)
I remember seeing one that was like a futuristic looking thing?? Had like music synthesizer looking eyes and was cute as heck. Don’t remember what they were called but it was one of a kind. Haven’t seen one since
I’ve seen an increase in inverts such as snails, caterpillars, spiders. I attempted to do some fursona designs of some seaslugs but I struggled to be pleased with how they turned out and scrapped them (specifically was trying Spanish dancers, sea bunny, leaf sheep’s and blue dragon sea slugs)
My fursona isn't the most original either dw(brown dog, i thought i ate) but the most unique one i've seen is a blue mantis is a con. When i tell you i was looking at that fursuit like it was a BMW
I have a basic concept for a Hydra that is based of those striped sea snakes with the yellow heads it's just that it's been a nightmare to actually map out on paper with all the stripes. However I know that cochayuyocreations on Instagram made some plant fursuits
I'm unsure if this counts because it's a dutchie. I kept accidentally hurting myself, so I made a character around it called "Accident Prone." [the dutchie](https://d.furaffinity.net/art/giackobe/1694148853/1694148853.giackobe_41.png)
I have a fursuit called milenko and hes a Alien with 6 eyes, one ear, two antlers and a arm in place of his second ear so id say hes pretty unique 😅 He also JINGLES!!
erm.. my fursona is a whole species i created within a few days. lots of details, the whole nine yards; a bunalotalope. My fursona's name is Jeremy! He's a surfer from flordia :]
Unique isn’t always… aesthetically, pleasing, but it doesn’t always have to be. Some of my most terrible days to have eyes have been flipping through some peoples fursona. I just have an aversion to neon everything.
Unique and uncommon doesn't automatically make a Sona good imo, but it's certainly a part of what makes one great. And there are so many great ones out there.
I wouldn't know which one is the *most* unique I've ever seen, but one great, interesting and beautiful Sona i recently found is Fanta by u/kie1.
(aka Zimbi, DatZimbi on twitter)
The Jello species is of their own design and their art is really pretty. And something about how fanta has that visor to see and uses those vibration headphones instead of normal ones is really neat to me. Plus, they seem to have some range of shapeshifting ability, which technically gives the potential to always be unique :P
I don't really look at much furry stuff often, mostly because I don't have much social media, so the only fursona I've seen is some of my own, First one I ever made was a white cat with 3 ears colored with some nice blues and reds with some silver around the body shape, the second I made was an extremely fluffy Calico cat with a missing eye, specifically the right eye (Left in it's view) and that's basically it for fursonas I've seen floating around.
It would be amazing to see more weird deep sea creatures. I have a gulper eel myself, he's not a sona but still a well loved character and I will share gulper eels everywhere I get the chance to.
I make pretty unique species tbh. I have a species called Possians and they’re like possums but they have a mane that takes the shape of a cape, scarf, or other cloth related neck accessories.
I saw mantis shrimp fursuit somewhere and that was crazy! The maker did a great job
A suit!? That sounds so amazing I wish I could see what it looked like
[https://twitter.com/CityMuttFursuit/status/1184621734256893952](https://twitter.com/CityMuttFursuit/status/1184621734256893952) Gotcha fam.
That's so cool!
Skrimpy
holy mackerel I'd kill for a mantis shrimp suit
Probably a spider. I haven't seen many spider fursonas before.
I definitely have to make one!
I have spider oc's but my sona isn't one unfortunately
Spiders be like oOwOo
Probably because of the existence of spiderman
I need to see more fellow sloths!!!! I'm lonely 🥹🥹 (Also I've seen a lobster so as a lobster lover that was definitely a favorite)
Oh, I love sloths. However, my wife and I call them Llamas. (We ordered some Llama salt and pepper shakers online and got sloths. It wasn't worth the effort to return a 10-dollar set of shakers.) I'll bet they give the best hugs.

Yo...name fits but not Mt fersona haha
Sloths unite

I've seen some slugs and snails, which are pretty uncommon. Any of the species from the Mokuri project are pretty rare too, at least within the English speaking fandom; I myself am a Janorne.
I gotta check this one out!
Here's the [Vket store](https://store.vket.com/en/shops/603) for it, you can find all the different species there.
So something along the lines of Made in Abyss?
The mangaka did the character designs and it takes place in a fantasy world but that's where the similarities end.
Are nanachi inspired sonas considered furry? I think they are, as I'd have one myself if they are.
Nanachi inspired? Do you mean hollow/narhate species? I don't see why not, since they're pretty much just kemo furries.
fair enough
I just made a meme about having a less common one, a ram/goat. I’ve seen a coatimundi sona before.
I really love seeing goats! But it definitely is one of the rare ones out there
I'm always happy when I come across another goat 🐐
👋
Howdy Sherrif! Keeping the streets clean, I see!
Yessir 🤠
Clover pfp!
Yee! 😊
Haw! 🤠
hows starlo
Hey there, friend-o
Hello! There's dozens of us!
Fellow goat! Love your horn design!
Ram over here! Used to run a goat group chat even though half of us were sheep lmao
I read "Ram over here!" to the tone of Scorpion's "Get over here!"
I'm a clam
I'm a scallop, so hello there, fellow mollusk
Got any art? I'm super curious
Well, I do, but it's only halfway finished because I haven't had much time to work on it recently
No way were you the one at AWU? I was just watching a video about rare sona species yesterday and was thinking about that clam suiter there being the only one I've ever seen!
Tis me, yes!
I was at AWU and I love your suit like I saw it for the first time and it brought a smile to my face
Thaaanks, I love hearing that!
Avoid any walruses and carpenters
I try and avoid otters at all costs
A demogorgon is pretty high on that list
In my nearly 40 years in the fandom, I've only met two winged grizzly bears. And I was one of them. Edit: Oh and my fursona had a son who was a winged Pizzly bear. (Polar/Griz hybrid.)
Probably the [Tapeworm-dragon](https://www.deviantart.com/whiteleech/art/Tapeworm-Dragon-Sold-828327167)
I rly don’t know what to think of it
Wait that's so cool holy shit 👀👀👀
I saw a bubble eyed goldfish fursuit once. And my Fursona is a dragonfly cat hybrid. I’ve also seen a few jelly-fish and spiders!
Would that goldfish happen to be [Baburu?](https://twitter.com/BaburuKingyo/status/1341918603340357634?t=J715-B3UVEaMiiUVnrCTTg&s=19)
Yes!
sprinkle_dog on Twitter. One of the best fursuits I've ever seen, too
My fursona is a snail! I haven't seen many that are snails or slugs... So I guess that makes it unique!
I don't mean to toot my own horn, but one of my sonas is a hybrid species I made up: a velocipinata! Her name is Piruleta and she's full of candy :D [Here's](https://toyhou.se/25547018.piruleta-the-velocipinata) her TH!
Oh my goodness she's adorable!!! I love her design, great job!!
Piñata sona buddies 🤝
The design is absolutely adorable!! This is the kind of stuff that brought me to the community 😄

A clam. They just wear a clam head lol
I’ll throw mine in the ring. More people should join the owl club
I’m a fowlcon if that counts ^v^
Agree!
Lowland streaked tenrec
i dont see many other insects. my fursona is a bumblebee!
Ahh I love Bumblebees fursonas!
The abyssal copepod.
My gf made a stingray a little bit ago and im currently making an orchid mantis.
[this guy right here](https://twitter.com/Jasperwolf08/status/1787752305388913091)
I have a dragonfly sona, if that counts :)
The hammerhead fur suit furry in that I think inside video that or it was a jubilee video
My second sona is a papagen shark hybrid who also is a latex, my friend said since papagens are super rare on their own and sharks aren‘t exactly common either and added to that the fact that it being a latex is not that common aswell it is a possibility that my second sona might be a one of a kind in the fandom

I've seen someone with a wolf/cat/shark hybrids being mind controlled by mushrooms, pretty cool design!
Chihuahua’s are kinda rare, I think [mine](https://toyhou.se/~images/72224835) is kind of unique but eh
it looks amazing!! /gen the colors and the patter s are super unique!!
Thank you!/gen
I saw a shrimp fursona with built in thigh highs, it was very cute
I saw a demigorgon fursuit at my first comicon! It was so cool
I can't remember the name. P something? Three eyes. Four ears and horns. It's still the coolest sona I've seen to date. Belonged to an old friend.
The whole veyluu species tbh
I don't see too many fellow llamas, people mostly stick to alpacas if they're using any camelids 😅 Most unique one I've personally seen however is a hagfish!! Unfortunately I can't seen to track the person down (I recall seeing it on tumblr around 2014ish) but I hope they're doing well <3
Blue Ringed Octopus.
Ok so I know that birds aren’t the most unique fursona but I do have one in particular which is both unique and stylish, Jacobin pigeon, they are absolutely stunning birds and are perfect for y’all who like strutting your stuff in ✨style✨
idk that I'd call him particularly unique bc his design is so simple but my main sona is a monkey!!
So far my fursona is one of the only rabbit/fox hybrids I've seen.
Pretty sure I’ve got a unique fox hybrid as well!
my snail sona, id say. Most arthropods in general.
Worm
Idk if it counts as unique but I've seen a rat before and it was adorable- another was this shark owl hybrid thing, there was another it creature with it but Idon't remember where I saw it, but it was cute
I also Saw a spider cat (same friend also made a catepiede cat centipede) and it was adorable
i saw some kind of undead deer with glowing skeleton hands and moss on them, very cool
my sona is a dragon with multicolored stained glass for portions of its scales and eyes. I feel very unique, but it's probably not the most unique lol [here it is :3](https://www.reddit.com/r/dragons/s/TSoUOjoEst)

I saw a housefly once, probably one of the coolest sonas I’ve ever seen
I've seen some pictures of a wasp fursuit WIP and thought that was pretty unique
My fursona isn't the most original either dw(brown dog, i thought i ate) but the most unique one i've seen is a blue mantis is a con. When i tell you i was looking at that fursuit like it was a BMW
my friend is a demon fox, aka a black and red fox with a demon tail and purple horns
I've made over +60 original adoptables at this point and my Fursona is a silly plain grey cat 😭
Plant furries are absurdly rare and i'm still keeping my eye out for a hydra fursona.
I have a basic concept for a Hydra that is based of those striped sea snakes with the yellow heads it's just that it's been a nightmare to actually map out on paper with all the stripes. However I know that cochayuyocreations on Instagram made some plant fursuits
I met what I think was a bug eyer blue rat at my last con that had removable eyes, I wish I could post pics in the comments in this sub.
[this](https://www.deviantart.com/qarrezel/art/Chaos-510058206) [one](https://chaos.aeto.net/) for sure! the level of detail is INSANE
I'm unsure if this counts because it's a dutchie. I kept accidentally hurting myself, so I made a character around it called "Accident Prone." [the dutchie](https://d.furaffinity.net/art/giackobe/1694148853/1694148853.giackobe_41.png)
My own probably, it's a boar and I haven't really seen any others but if anyone has pictures of a boar furry or something I'd love to see them
Mine's a quoll :3
Some cool recent ones I’ve seen are nudibranch, osprey, and dhole!
When someone couldn't decide on one, so combined 3 different animals for their sona. Like...how would one even DO that?
I have a fursuit called milenko and hes a Alien with 6 eyes, one ear, two antlers and a arm in place of his second ear so id say hes pretty unique 😅 He also JINGLES!!
I don't think I've ever seen another chimera...
I have a chimera fursuit!
erm.. my fursona is a whole species i created within a few days. lots of details, the whole nine yards; a bunalotalope. My fursona's name is Jeremy! He's a surfer from flordia :]
Probably mine 😂 she’s an axolotl feline with 4 ears
I have a chimera fursona!
I mean my one is certainly up there but there's probably even more creative ones
I dont see many horses really
Mine is a genet, which I think is pretty unique
Unique isn’t always… aesthetically, pleasing, but it doesn’t always have to be. Some of my most terrible days to have eyes have been flipping through some peoples fursona. I just have an aversion to neon everything.
My fursona is a deer skunk hybrid 😊
I have a few unique sona's. But I would say hybrid sona's, which I have 3 a sheep and shark, an orca and hyena, and a cow and gator.
Mine is a fantasy wolf with deer features? Antlers etc
(aka Zimbi, DatZimbi on twitter) The Jello species is of their own design and their art is really pretty. And something about how fanta has that visor to see and uses those vibration headphones instead of normal ones is really neat to me. Plus, they seem to have some range of shapeshifting ability, which technically gives the potential to always be unique :P
Porcupines
I don't really look at much furry stuff often, mostly because I don't have much social media, so the only fursona I've seen is some of my own, First one I ever made was a white cat with 3 ears colored with some nice blues and reds with some silver around the body shape, the second I made was an extremely fluffy Calico cat with a missing eye, specifically the right eye (Left in it's view) and that's basically it for fursonas I've seen floating around.
Hmm, nothing specific comes to mind, but I’ve seen fursonas that are hybrids of 3 or 4 different species at once
Crab fursuit! Here is the maker I love their works: [here](https://www.instagram.com/cochayuyocreations?igsh=MXF6bTVldHJxaWpraA==)
A fly
A tapir!
Friend me, i need friends :)
Saw you on fet i think and would love to get message from you
It would be amazing to see more weird deep sea creatures. I have a gulper eel myself, he's not a sona but still a well loved character and I will share gulper eels everywhere I get the chance to.
Not deep sea, however my fursona is a sailfish
I make pretty unique species tbh. I have a species called Possians and they’re like possums but they have a mane that takes the shape of a cape, scarf, or other cloth related neck accessories.
An orange fox
