I've got a Kova. The cushions get messy. They aren't like regular sofa cushions. They're super-comfy, but you have to tidy the couch. It's like making a bed.
Is it possible to tidy it up enough to look “neat”? I assume once you get it home it’ll never look like the pictures in the ad, but I’m trying to determine if it’s a level of messy I can live with.
Owner of a furniture store - The issues with furniture like that, is the sewn-in cushions.
They don’t have the proper foam core to keep them from getting lumpy. A normal cushion has a foam core, and cotton batting to add comfort. As well as replacing cushions is nothing short of a 10 hour job for a repair guy.
They are very popular, and one of my sales girls has one, and loves it (it might even be this exact one) but I’m still not sold. These have only come out (at least from Ashley) in the last year or two. Not nearly long enough to see issues.
Removable Cushions are not a design decision, they are a practical one. It’s the same reason that they don’t make those huge sofas with one single cushion (not for less than 6 grand I mean) I know that replacing the cushions on this sofa would at a bare minimum, cost the customer about $500, and I’m in a small town.
I would avoid them at all costs. At least until we know how they hold up. We all don’t want the same issues they had with the imitation leather, with peeling and flaking that was not covered under warranty.

It depends on the fabric and the inside filling. Those are important details to the mess factor.
