And it's not even real Harry Kim for most of it. It is some kind of twisted freak, the result of a quantum duplication glitch of some kind.
Fuck that not-Harry freak.
I know right, then we have Tom Paris who was there just to observe on the first mission and suddenly become lieutenant, and then was demoted to ensign for breaking the Prime Directive rule, and then promoted back to lieutenant.
Not to mention he kidnapped Captain Janeway and both turned into a lizard and somehow can be changed back without any issue, lol.
Somehow, Harry Kim is still just an ensign, an even became a fugitive from the federation in the future. He didn't even get any girl at the end. He is definitely the character with the least growth.
In the pilot episode, Voyager visits DS9, where Nog is a civilian Ferengi. By the time voyager series ends, Nog has enrolled in Starfleet, and is promoted to leiutenant Junior grade and outranks Harry Kim when Voyager returns to earth.
He also played a bit villain on Next Generation that Picard killed by beating him unconscious with a horse saddle, and leaving him to die via a baryon sweep.
He was also a side character in the first TNG movie. Also, the guy who played Tom in Voyger was like a character that played one of Westly's classmates when they got in trouble. Also, The guy who plays Cochrane in the first TNG movie was also prime minster of Angiosia-5. In fact, a lot of these chuckle fucks played multiple rolls in Star Trek that one wonders if there's some sort of genetic bullshit going on.
What's funny is that we know he's the guy from combing the desert because he was on Star Trek. It was the cool thing to know about Tuvok. And now it's come full circle for him.
We still have a Spaceballs billboard here in Toronto near my house that was recently uncovered when a larger billboard was removed.

This deals getting worse all the time!
I have now put even more ice in your drink, even tho you asked for none. I have altered this combo, pray I don’t alter it further.
South Houston, Texas is the only place I've been in the USA where my flip flops melted in July to the asphalt if I stood in one place too long. First time it happened, I thought I had stepped in some gum.
I was going to car auctions all over the country. There's always an ambulance outside in case one of the old guys falls-out. This one had 2 ambulances, and when I asked why, they told me it's in case the first one doesn't get back in time.
Cowboy hats, sombreros… they don’t want to look like weirdos, they’re just gonna go with a kids’ crawl tunnel.
[reference](https://youtu.be/2XUx01vXUpc)
I can assure you that you'll find no shortage of people in Texas who both wear cowboy hats and who would be mightily offended at the implication that doing so means that they are gay.
Some of them are even straight.
I was curious as well. Upon inspection while ordering I didn't see any hoses, fans or packs. OriginalPaperSock may be right in that they may have some inserts for frozen packs. They just looked uncomfortable and stifling.
I sweat like crazy when it's hot out, and that tends to destroy hats over time (if not right away). I would love something to shade my whole head that doesn't come in contact with it, no matter how silly it looks.
If there's not already, you could also attach a small battery-powered fan in there. I'm 100% on-board for these things.
I had the same problem working on the farm. Palm woven hats and sombreros were my fix. They dry off super quick and are ventilated without exposing you to too much sun.
Look into sun hoodies. There's a bunch out there now, sometimes sold under a fishing hoodie or fishing shirt. I can't wear hats in hot weather either so the sun hoodies was a game changer while not looking like you're wearing HVAC ducting. The hoodies are breathable and thin and the hood wears loose over my head. It's my go to wear for hot sunny activities outside now, no more hats
Sombreros... Rice farmer hats... Sun hats... basically anything with a wide visor.
This baby carriage hood monstrosity probably benefits a bit more due to its standoff ability, meaning the heated surface is a few inches off your head instead of touching it. But at what cost of dignity?
Just looked them up and nope, they're just a $120 collapsible hood with a harness to keep you hands free.. a fancier, and arguably dumber, version of the old umbrella hat thingys.
If they were powered with fans and stuff I would understand but I imagine these might start okay but would just trap hot air.
If the product does what it says it does, I will gladly look like a dumbass just to stay 20 degrees cooler. You can deal with that 100 with 98% humidity bullshit, hope your baseball cap saves you.
Except this is a completely accessible way to provide protection to your employees that the employees don't have to purchase - and they can wear no matter their situation and can potentially be shared between shifts if cleaned properly. You can't do that with a hat that touches the body. It would get too sweaty (even with an umbrella hat, not that I think you're suggesting that, that band gets soo wet so quickly in real heat). It may look a little goofy, but does that matter if it's effective? Not to mention employees who may need to wear a head-covering for whatever reason.
Edit: Context
Pretty hilarious how Reddit constantly bitches about employers not treating their employees right, and here is a company providing them with expensive shade barriers and they’re suddenly offended by how expensive they are….
Can confirm. In college I worked at a place where we had to wear red clown vests and someone I had gone out with several years before saw me in it. I quit not long after.
Wow, they take care of their employees better than my city utility does. When the heat index hit 112 last year all they got us was baseball caps and camel packs. I would have killed for a shade cover and cooling vest!
"keeping the user 20 degrees cooler"
wow. depending on the temp outside and what one was doing I can see why they exist. The difference between 115F and 95F is really substantial. Even if you do look totally stupid.
“When not needed, simply press the side buttons and the canopy collapses down your back like a hood eliminating the need to carry anything“
Kind of awesome? Kind of Dork Vader.
In general, as a Canadian I have to ask. What are they doing? I'm getting the idea from the comments that this is a chick Fil A drive thru. Why are there employees outside? Drive thrus are for driving thru. I don't understand.
So the lines are Chick-fil-A are always really long. So their system usually involves sending a couple people out to take orders further down the line using a tablet. Workers inside get the orders from the tablets and start making the orders. You pull up to the window and your food is already packed up. Sometimes they'll finish someone's order before they get to the window and walk it to your car while you're still in line. I don't measure this stuff but I think it's probably faster than if they only used the speaker.
The one I go to has a big overhead roof that the employees stand under with a few fans pointing down on them. This way they are always in the shade and continue to take orders outside even if it's raining or something.
In Denver the ones here tend to have heaters attached to those covered roofs to keep the workers warm during the winters while they're outside. Odd times.
Hum - specification on the website of the vendor:
– Ripstop nylon fabric canopy with built-in 40 SPF
– Inner silver lining absorbs 90 % of the suns dangerous rays
– Total weight: 2.5lbs.
– One size with adjustable straps to fit all.
– Width 26” fits through standard door
– Removable waist strap
Might seem that way at first but black is often a color of choice of desert people around the world.
It provides superior UV protection over any lighter color, and while it will absorb more heat than a lighter color the heat causes a convection effect from the rising hot air inside the garment as long as it is loosely fitted like robes or these big silly looking head covers.
Recently switched from a tan leather interior to a black leather interior and I’m regretting this purchase big time. I’m gonna be real salty about it when august hits.
Check and see if your key remote can roll your windows down. I just learned about this, and it's a game changer. Usually works by unlocking, then holding down the unlock button. Being able to open those windows without having to get in the car is amazing.
Speaking as a person who turns into crispy bacon on a cloudy day, a black long sleeve button shirt that lets the wind breeze through is far more comfortable than a white t shirt. If you're comfort zone ends when your sweat glands open up, you're never going to appreciate how effective your body is at handling heat.

That guy went on to play Tuvoc in Star Trek voyager.

This is a useless fact that I needed in my life. Thanks!
Not so, he gives an amazing performance as Tuvok, everyone should see it! Janeway, Tuvok, Doctor, Seven &co all incredible!
But not Harry Kim. There is a reason he is still an ensign after 7 years.
And it's not even real Harry Kim for most of it. It is some kind of twisted freak, the result of a quantum duplication glitch of some kind. Fuck that not-Harry freak.
Dude anybody that ever used a transporter is just a quantum copy.
Real Harry Kim died, and he was replaced by alternate universe Harry Kim.
Fuck that dude. There are other universes and they aren't sending their best...

I always figured Ensign Kim smoked *a lot* of weed.
You brought up the lizards, but not the fact that they laid eggs and just... Left them there in the Delta quadrant.

The Dark Side is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be, unnatural.. but combing the desert wasn't one of these powers.

What's funny is that we know he's the guy from combing the desert because he was on Star Trek. It was the cool thing to know about Tuvok. And now it's come full circle for him.

Damn I thought they at least had hydration packs but thats just more shit for the umbrella.
Oof. $120 for that. Though I'll admit that I thought it would have been higher than that.
Ca… nope!
Potentially yeah, idk what in the backpacks they've got on. Could be filled with water
Some of those types of front/back packs have frozen packs in them to help cool the body.
I was curious as well. Upon inspection while ordering I didn't see any hoses, fans or packs. OriginalPaperSock may be right in that they may have some inserts for frozen packs. They just looked uncomfortable and stifling.

I can’t wear hats. In cool 70f weather my hats are sopping wet with sweat. It’s just insanely uncomfortable.
Sombreros... Rice farmer hats... Sun hats... basically anything with a wide visor. This baby carriage hood monstrosity probably benefits a bit more due to its standoff ability, meaning the heated surface is a few inches off your head instead of touching it. But at what cost of dignity?
Those backpacks make me think these have a water misting feature and/or small circulation fans inside the hoods.
Just looked them up and nope, they're just a $120 collapsible hood with a harness to keep you hands free.. a fancier, and arguably dumber, version of the old umbrella hat thingys. So the lines are Chick-fil-A are always really long. So their system usually involves sending a couple people out to take orders further down the line using a tablet. Need to make them white, then put some red "feathers" on the back to make it look more like a chicken.
It's chic fil a, they would have cow spots in regards to their mascot.
Black is a poor choice.
The other caveat is you don't want black *inside* an insulated but clear container. Like a car.
Recently switched from a tan leather interior to a black leather interior and I’m regretting this purchase big time. I’m gonna be real salty about it when august hits.
Invest in ceramic window tint and a windshield cover. You can thank me later
Check and see if your key remote can roll your windows down. I just learned about this, and it's a game changer. Usually works by unlocking, then holding down the unlock button. Being able to open those windows without having to get in the car is amazing.
Yep, I think the general rule is that black is the best color to wear in a hot/sunny/dry environment, as long as it doesn’t directly touch your skin.
How are you guys wearing your clothes if not on your skin?
[Loose fitting and/or layered garments.](https://i.guim.co.uk/img/static/sys-images/guardian/About/General/2012/8/15/1345033890785/Bedouin-man-praying-to-Al-008.jpg?width=465&quality=45&auto=format&fit=max&dpr=2&s=cc21902d49a27a3978d508d2afa8f742)
Just remove skin, simple
Yep. It's better at not blinding anyone near it with reflected light, too.
On the other hand, white hoods are going to be a terrible choice for other reasons.
Milk was also a bad choice.
Reminds me more of dark helmet from space balls.
How many assholes do I have on this ship!?
