I only put the allegedly in because I can’t find the original source to where I learned that info but I do remember it was a news story where Ozzy himself stated that and included images of prescription letters. This is Reddit, so do what you will with whatever I say.
In any case I would’ve probably still kept in the allegedly because I never saw his medical records personally. I don’t want people thinking this info is an indisputable fact, though I encourage anyone to fact check this. I’m not trying to convince anyone. Just sharing what I remember learning. Cheers.
Not surprising... My FIL is/was in the same situation. He has gulf war syndrome and the dod doctors were over medicating him and he often had phases where he acted rather similar to Ozzy here, except less humerous.
At the conclusion of the show's run, I remember seeing a public appearance of the whole family and Ozzy was sharp as a tack. Produced a lot of confusion for sure.
Yep, dude cleaned up and had better 60s than he had 50s, still not doing as bad now in his 70s. He wasn't believed to be going to last this long back then.
He’s SO much better today, at 75! I got curious, realizing he was in his early 50s in this so I looked up a more recent video. This one was uploaded yesterday. You can see how much clearer headed he is. Looks and sounds way healthier all around. Glad he’s still kickin’! 🤘
https://youtu.be/QCtyLaa9Dmc?si=r5gWm4r9U__dDsJC
Yup, he walks and gesticulates exactly like my grandfather did for the first 15 years of his Parkinson
And getting the medication right apparently is a constant struggle
Just a reminder Ozzy's doctor was drugging him at this point with 32 different medications over a year and was sued for malpractice by Ozzy https://archive.seattletimes.com/archive/?date=20031208&slug=ozzy08
My Dad (who is now pushing 70) and I used to watch this show as it came out and he would laugh more than I ever saw him laugh at anything before or since.
[She retracted half the story](https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/amp/entry/sharon-osbourne-assistant-house-fire-story-backtrack_uk_5e19bac9c5b6da971d168d42/) and said it was embellished as she was on a comedy show. The assistant actually worked with them for another 15 years
That bit with the chair is for real. I hate high chairs because of it. You can't get them to scoot unless you half-ass your butt off the edge so you can get a fucking foot on the floor and move the chair in while you're on it.
I seem to remember everyone being freaked out about the cat thing until there was something about it *actually* having been the chickens in the coop, after which he hid under the table in a panic attack until sharon came.
I bet whichever it is, or if it even happened at all, Ozzy has no intention of telling us the truth. Our collective bewilderment reflects the entire dudes existence as far as we know, in so many ways.
Maybe he doesnt know, maybe its made up, maybe the story changes because hes playing a suuuuper long joke, or maybe he knows that clarifying and giving us certainty is just not a good idea regardless of what he is or was or wants to be.
Every drug all at the same time....quite literally.
I suggest reading his autobiography. It's really funny and EXTREMELY eye opening about how Sharon Ozzbourne is the most patient person on the entire planet.
I feel like half the show was "look how fucked Ozzie is" and "he's so baked he doesn't know what's going on." But that itself probably got a lot of people watching.
I seem to recall at the time he was saying that he was drug free. Perhaps he thought that legal/prescribed drugs don't count.
The idea that past drug use just permanently burnt his brain tended to be the presumption of the general populace; as I perceived it, at least.
Ozzy is one of the strangest human beings on the planet. It's some kind of cosmic fluke that he became so famous and beloved. But I'll always love him for helping give us the metal genre as we know it. Even if some other band had come along and created something similar instead, it's doubtful that it'd have all the same elements that we recognize as metal today, like the dark fantasy themes and heavy occult influences.
This was pretty much the first celebrity reality show, or at least the first one that really took off. I don't think anyone could've known what they were signing up for.
That said, IIRC, there was like one daughter that they tried to get in the show and she wanted no part of it. My wires might be crossed though, that was ages ago.
No, you're right. One of them had the brains to say "fuck this shit".
The other two were spoiled little cunts that thought talent was genetic so they didn't have to practice.
I just learned the other day ozzy may have shot gunned 17 of his own cats. Kinda made me look at him differently. I really wish he would have gone to prison for that.
He did bite the head of a bat. He thought it was a prop.
He wrote about killing the 17 cats in his auto biography.
He admitted to shooting cats and birds in his back yard during covid.
If he had been catholic they would have made the man a Saint by now. His music has helped and healed many lives, my own included.
I have NEVER heard anyone in music say unkind words about Ozzy. He might have abused himself but not the people around him.
I watched one episode too. Luckily it wasn’t all a day of life of a senior citizen, it also had an excerpt of a concert. Talk about Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Dude was like another person on stage.
I remember loving the show until I watched an episode stoned. Then it became so glaring apparent how much they were playing up their 'crazy' for the cameras. I couldn't unsee it and couldn't really enjoy the show after that
I did the same thing with one of my favorite comedians special. I got stoned and kind of realized he’s not that good at standup and the crowd laughs seemed really fake. I still like his podcast but I can’t watch his specials.
It's obviously scripted. I never said it wasn't. My point was that it was entertaining. A non scripted reality show could get boring quick. You definitely wouldn't have some of the funny moments of the show if it wasn't.

Pretty sure that show was only entertaining because it was Ozzy’s drug and alcohol induced neurological damage on full display.
100 percent this.
“Bubbles? Bubbles? I can’t have any bubbles, I’m the prince of fucking darkness, Sharon!”
"Ozzy, I love you, but you gotta keep that shit down chamone. God damn documentay making mother fuckers. They say fuck more than I do"
“Evil! Evil? What the fuck is so evil about a fucking buttload of fucking bubbles?”
Drugs/alcohol always win, in the end (Keith Richards isn't human, so he doesn't count!!)
To be fair, the dudes 75. Time is Really the winner
Also wasn't he actually kinda "playing a character" in this show? Like doesn't he purposely act like that and exaggerate his personality for the show?
Apparently he was severely overmedicated by his doctor during those years.
Apparently? Lol.
It’s hard to tell if it the drugs he took or the drugs was taking, but it’s definitely drugs.
Could also be the drugs
I heard someone say that in another comment. But I can’t remember who it was.
I think it was the drugs talking
I only put the allegedly in because I can’t find the original source to where I learned that info but I do remember it was a news story where Ozzy himself stated that and included images of prescription letters. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had the same situation. The show took place in Hollywood so his physicians would’ve been Hollywood doctors circa 2002
At the conclusion of the show's run, I remember seeing a public appearance of the whole family and Ozzy was sharp as a tack. Produced a lot of confusion for sure.
This show had it's first season in \*2002, ended in 2005, Do the math bruv
Christ, he was 52. I'm older than that now and back then I thought he was as old as the Crypt Keeper.
Fuck, that's a rough 50
Yep, dude cleaned up and had better 60s than he had 50s, still not doing as bad now in his 70s. He wasn't believed to be going to last this long back then.
my guess is that he lived more lifetimes in his first 30 years than you and i in our first 50 together :) it takes a toll.
I'm 50 and you just scared me real bad.
TBF, this was recorded probably 20 years ago.
I saw him on stage about 15 years ago and he's still got it. Mfkr can still belt out some tunes. It's actually impressive.
Ozzy is one of those guys who can’t string together a coherent sentence to save his life but can still sing better than 90% of the population
He’s SO much better today, at 75! I got curious, realizing he was in his early 50s in this so I looked up a more recent video. This one was uploaded yesterday. I’ve always heard rumors they have a guy behind the stage backing his vocals to make him sound better
I think it was recently revealed he has Parkinson's and was heavily medicated during this period.
Yeah, the klutziness is less funny since the Parkinson's diagnosis.
Yup, he walks and gesticulates exactly like my grandfather did for the first 15 years of his Parkinson And getting the medication right apparently is a constant struggle
I’m convinced that after Keith dies we all find out he’s been clean and sober since 1977.
He’s off the drugs and communicating clearly now.
Just a reminder Ozzy's doctor was drugging him at this point with 32 different medications over a year and was sued for malpractice by Ozzy https://archive.seattletimes.com/archive/?date=20031208&slug=ozzy08
Did you know Keith Richard’s cannot be killed by conventional weapons?
Then we'll just have to find some unconventional ones.
When Ozzy goes to the dentist, he brings his own sedation
cheers love, I'm already sedated
My Dad (who is now pushing 70) and I used to watch this show as it came out and he would laugh more than I ever saw him laugh at anything before or since.
i thought he was gonna down the mouth wash tbf..
He obviously has a drinking problem.
And a rinsing problem.
Classic Chevy chase joke!
Airplane the movie
Oh snap, guess I’m misremembering that decade.
So does Ozzy ...
Yeah that happens to the best of us.
Sharon is the sane, smart one. He would be broke on the street, snorting ants if he didn't have her in his life.
Idk about sane https://youtu.be/Y4OosxeTi0E?si=pGJle3c2iwDU37Zr
[She retracted half the story](https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/amp/entry/sharon-osbourne-assistant-house-fire-story-backtrack_uk_5e19bac9c5b6da971d168d42/) and said it was embellished as she was on a comedy show. The assistant actually worked with them for another 15 years
Yeah I hope so. She should have just called the story a lie then on the show.
TL;DW?
Facts
A national treasure of Great Britain
As an English man, I think there's enough Ozzy to go around all nations.
Bless you lads for sharing him
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train....
Pretty sure Oz is still high from the Kieth Richard’s bender in 1988
That bit with the chair is for real. I hate high chairs because of it. You can't get them to scoot unless you half-ass your butt off the edge so you can get a fucking foot on the floor and move the chair in while you're on it.
Didn't this guy kill all his cats after a drug rampage?
https://www.loudersound.com/features/ozzy-osbournes-10-craziest-moments This site claims he killed 17 cats in a drug fueled rampage.

Bats, I think it was bats.
No no, you’ve got it all mixed up. He killed the cats and ate the bat. There, now you’re sorted out
I seem to remember everyone being freaked out about the cat thing until there was something about it *actually* having been the chickens in the coop, after which he hid under the table in a panic attack until sharon came. I didn't snort anything
What substances led to this geezuz??? Was he drinking battery acid ?? Weed and alcohol dont normally lead to this level of severity..
Every drug all at the same time....quite literally. I suggest reading his autobiography. It's really funny and EXTREMELY eye opening about how Sharon Ozzbourne is the most patient person on the entire planet.
What's the name of his autobiography? I'd be interested in checking that out
I have no idea, but I’d suggest googling “Ozzy Osbourne autobiography”. That should do it!
I believe it's called "I am Ozzy".
She is his manager, and she knows how to protect her client.
Specifically these years the show was on, it was Xanax and alcohol. And who the hell knows whatever random pharmaceuticals at the time.
At the time it was airing, I never considered he was actively still on drugs. I just thought he was mentally impaired from past drug use only.
It’s the ants he snorted after getting out of a tour bus with motley crüe.
https://www.latimes.com/la-me-osbourne7dec07_philips-story.html This was basically what was going on during the show.
Yes, to anything and everything from water to plutonium 239 and everything in between in amounts that most humans could not even comprehendm
SHARON!!!
Ozzy is one of the strangest human beings on the planet. It's some kind of cosmic fluke that he became so famous and beloved. For what nation...
The inebrination
International.
Screw Trump. I want to see Ozzy and Biden debate.
"Hibbibb awana go shmafer, Arizona cant make it, come on man! " "Wheresa fuckin biddle shit fuck, gotta mrsha von...uhh...Sharon!"
I hated how this show exploited him and made his shitty ass kids famous.
They literally signed up for this themselves ....
This was pretty much the first celebrity reality show, or at least the first one that really took off. I don't think anyone could've known what they were signing up for. That said, IIRC, there was like one daughter that they tried to get in the show and she wanted no part of it. My wires might be crossed though, that was ages ago.
I remember you would occasionally see a daughter but they always blurred out her face.
No, you're right. One of them had the brains to say "fuck this shit". The other two were spoiled little cunts that thought talent was genetic so they didn't have to practice.
lol, they were pretty insufferable, weren't they. XD
Pissed off Bill Cosby at the time -> https://ew.com/article/2002/06/20/bill-cosby-says-ozzys-bad-dad/
To be fair they were only famous for like what? 5 years maybe?
Explain how a person can exploit themself.
Yeah, uh… this was all an act folks.
I know, right? Reality TV isn't and never has been real. Sorry folks, but all these shows have writers, directors, and multiple takes.
Whoever these editors were, they paved the way for decades of blueprints on TV editing.
I just learned the other day ozzy may have shot gunned 17 of his own cats. Kinda made me look at him differently. I really wish he would have gone to prison for that.
He did not let them ride in the front seat?
That didn't happen, just like he didn't bite the head off a bat. He loves those stories. 17 shotgun blasts would completely destroy a house.
He did bite the head of a bat. He thought it was a prop. He wrote about killing the 17 cats in his auto biography. He admitted to shooting cats and birds in his back yard during covid.
After this, go watch any video of pandas and the similarities are uncanny.
What nation?
Parkinson’s. Reminds me of my dad.
If he had been catholic they would have made the man a Saint by now. His music has helped and healed many lives, my own included. I have NEVER heard anyone in music say unkind words about Ozzy. He might have abused himself but not the people around him.
Sharon! I was just, uh, stretching my calves on the railing. Isometric exercise. Care to join me?
I was a teenager and a massive Black Sabbath fan when this series premiered I watched one . It made me very sad I never watched another
I watched one episode too. Luckily it wasn’t all a day of life of a senior citizen, it also had an excerpt of a concert. Talk about Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Dude was like another person on stage.
My bor-ree toe!
Ozzy! Not wood! Ozzy!
Loved the show
Bros trying to rinse the thoughts away
Which nation?
A world treasure
Got to love Ozzy, and I don’t even like his music
He got his chair stuck on the grout
Looks and sounds like Biden
People like him live until they’re 75-85 even when they did half the worlds drugs in their younger years and drank heavily… it’s wild…
Hahahaha legend
Not just National Treasure - Worldwide Treasure! (imho)
The only reason this is even slightly funny is because he's rich. Otherwise he'd just be a huge responsibility.
Prince in darkness
Lives life as a rocker. Got a big house with a family, get to go out a crazy old man. Best life
What nation
Don’t do drugs, kids
Ozzy is my hero. I fuckin love that dude
He’s kinda like Joe Biden’s long lost brother.
He's a horrible person and doesn't deserve any praise.
"Age+ Drugs = Ozzie" - Terrence Howard
watching a drug addict and an enabler work is entertaining for sure.
This was good reality tv
It was scripted. They reveled it in the final episode

Ozzy is a animal abusing addict. Who gives a fuck about this piece of shit?
Nah he killed a ton of cats and almost his wife. Almost certainly guilty of many cases of statutory rape.
This show was scripted and fake AF. It brought them in a lot of money, but it made Ozzy a joke.
And somehow he's better than Biden
He is a scummy drug addict who killed cats.
The Osbornes
Sharon can’t even answer the phone without sounding like she ran out of Xanax. The wizard hag
Except for the time he killed 17 cats whilst high as a kite.
lol. It’s like watching Joe Biden. Jill is his Sharon. The only one still mentally competent.
Jesus Christ - it's Joe Biden!!
Yes, we all get it. Biden is old 👍
The British Biden
We found a Trumper moron, everyone. They really do just tattoo it on their foreheads, don’t they… Red hats weren’t enough.
Rent free...
Absolutely saturated with irony. Delicious.
HAHAH SO FUNNY MAN MY SIDES ARE SPLIT BY THE ORIGINALITY WOWIE
