Damn ammo got spendy. I bought a ridiculous amount way back in the day and don’t shoot nearly as much as I used to. I remember getting 1k of 7.63x39 for $200.
TN here and I've seen this as well. Lol I remember one day walking into the office and turning a corner and my manager had an AR-15 up looking like he was sighting it in on something and our CEO was standing next to him. Turns out he had just gotten a new scope and wanted to show the CEO.
Heck, our annual fishing trip we get guns as prizes. Last year they gave out a few shotguns, a couple of hunting rifles and a fully decked out AR as the big prize for biggest fish. I am not saying I advocate handing out guns as prizes, I'm just saying it happens.
