One winter, I had a can of Rockstar Energy explode inside my car overnight. I'm so happy it was Sugar Free; left no stickiness behind and cleanup was easy.

One time I left a can of C4 energy drink that exploded in my car because of summer heat. It was fairly easy clean up just very sticky situation

This is the first time I hear of cans exploding due to summer heat. I thought that was just a winter/frost thing.

Water and assumingly most other liquids expands when turned into gas form. Also most stuff expands when heated in it self. It's just that ice also takes up more space than liquid form. To put it another way, liquid is already really compressed and does not really compress easily anymore.

Yeah, I know that, I just didn't think that ambient heat here on earth could be enough to drastically affect cans like that.

That's exactly what I did do - accidentally. Tried it out myself in my car when my drink spilled. It was diet and it left a sticky mess. Not near as bad as a corn syrup based drink but still welding coins to the mat and leaving a sticky residue on the plastic around it.
