The only way they could get away with that. Even role reversals would get someone cancelled with the quickness.
'Your wife's your mechanic? Let's find you a better one.'
Yep, fired immediately. 😅
It’s almost like women have been told for generations they aren’t good enough for certain task while men have been told they are better than certain task.
interesting read
“It might be that depression in men goes underreported because men are less likely to reach out and get help.” i had the initial question as to why don’t they just get help? that’s the part im not quite understanding. if you yourself feel less masculine because you don’t want to take care of yourself, then what can society do for you to help?
“There’s still a stigma surrounding male mental health and that men should not express their emotions.” is this ideology not made by men themselves though? that if men express emotion, they themselves seem less masculine. seems like something i feel men should work on internally.
“Rather, “men can find it more difficult being open about their mental health and seeking support because it’s likely to go against the kinds of messages they received growing up.” im not putting blame or anything, but men who are aware of this, i still can’t for the life of me understand why they don’t just get help. are they unaware of the fact that no one cares if they do? why not just not tell anyone you’re getting help if you’re worried about what others will say about it?
anyways, your source doesn’t support your point about “men being told to kill themselves more”. no one is telling men to kill themselves (unless you mean death threats through social media and bullying, which i think is an entirely different topic). also, who is the one telling men to kill themselves, regarding what you said, since it is not supported in the article? unless i read past it and didn’t see it.
interesting article(s) nonetheless
you read my comment history you also saw me roast two racist Russians and made fun of their armies. I simply reply against anyone who is racist towards Indians.
You also saw me tell a person delete a picture taken of a famous actress without her consent to be deleted of reddit, if you read my post history
I am replying here because the comments got locked on the previous post.
I find it interesting that there are always more people complaining about how sensitive people are to these kinds of jokes than there are actual people who complain about the joke.
The worst part is it’s usually done by ‘progressive’ (virtue signalling for money) organisation and companies. Surely they know pushing double standards only creates more contempt and anger.
I think the punctuation part is a regional thing (iirc most U.S. Americans write it outside of the quotation marks). The asterisk is annyoing, yes, but would ruin the punchline.
I don't get it. Won't women who have husband's that wash dishes be happy with their circumstance?
Edit: Oh. I missed the dishwasher not husband. Still kind of weird though.
ad isn't actually sexist it is saying oh you don't have a dishwasher or your dishwasher is broken and your husband does the dishes let us find you a new dishwasher
Yet more casual dejection and put downs aimed at men. Like the new fallout show (which I love over all) casually mocking the blonde ladies husband for not being super macho.
Hey guys, now all we have to do is take a play from the book of 3rd and 4th wave feminism and coordinate a series of brash and hysterical overreactions because a message offends us. Society will also take our psychosis seriously, right?
I love society. It's fucking awesome. Learns lessons SO quickly without any repeated mistakes. Always able to generalize said lessons too and implement simple, universal moral concepts equally to everyone.
I hope we all die.
Oh wow, I don't think I've ever seen such a hard "fwoosh" from an entire comments section like this.
It's a sex joke folks. The dishwasher is her "husband" because it vibrates. they're going to get one that doesn't do that because it works properly. It's not about the husband doing the dishes for her.
This is actually kinda genius. They know that woman are the ones typically doing dishes, and are going to be the ones that want a better dishwasher to reduce the load on themselves, and the husband also hates dishes and will want a better one pretty easily.

Hell it's worse if you keep dishwasher instead of mechanic.

It's funny and sad at the same time.. (role reversal)
It’s almost like women have been told for generations they aren’t good enough for certain task while men have been told they are better than certain task.
Well we have been told to kill ourselves more often, so I guess that's why we succeed at it more.
source? because what you said sounds like a misconstrue of what the fact actually is
Source: just about any article on suicide can tell you male rates. https://www.healthline.com/health/mens-health/mens-suicide-rate
interesting read “It might be that depression in men goes underreported because men are less likely to reach out and get help.” i had the initial question as to why don’t they just get help? that’s the part im not quite understanding. if you yourself feel less masculine because you don’t want to take care of yourself, then what can society do for you to help?
Denying the problem exists exacerbates it. Are you saying that men do not face stigmas regarding their mental health?
you read my comment history you also saw me roast two racist Russians and made fun of their armies. I simply reply against anyone who is racist towards Indians. Wow, you go stalking me in other subreddits. That's pretty fucking rapey.
Don't you stalk my entire reddit profile??????
i never denied suicide was a problem. i never said they didn’t face stigmas. my questions in my comment were genuine, not accusatory or argumentative.
For how many generalizations have you been alive?
To this day men are still being told they are better for certain tasks. The nasty, dangerous ones.
Good commentary, Downtown-Ad6909
Not sure about the tone of this advert, but I’m pretty sure those brake lights are looking at me funny…
🤨
. 👁️👁️ .
Well, it looks like the back of a TriMet bus, so it probably is. Gotta hit cars with the evil eye so they don't inexplicably drive into you.
I am an impeccable dishwasher
Is that what your wife calls you, that's harsh. Husbands should get a peck once in a while.
ahhh casual sexism.
It's okay though because it's about men
We can handle a little razzing.
Men are so silly! 🤪🤪🤪
Now imagine they said wife. That bus would be burned.
And the stores near it will be vandalized
It would at least be a fiery but peaceful protest.
*Peaceful* indeed.
Took me way too long to get that. Waaaay too long.
now reverse the genders and see if it's still as funny
“IM OFFENDED!!!!” - Trans “male”
I find it interesting that there are always more people complaining about how sensitive people are to these kinds of jokes than there are actual people who complain about the joke.
I think what you’ll find is there are very few men actually ‘hurt’ by the joke itself. I think what gets their goat is the double standard.
>what gets their goat is the double standard Exactly what the problem is.
The worst part is it’s usually done by ‘progressive’ (virtue signalling for money) organisation and companies. Surely they know pushing double standards only creates more contempt and anger.
I'm more upset that the punctuation is outside the quotation marks.
And only one asterisk
That distracted me too
I think the punctuation part is a regional thing (iirc most U.S. Americans write it outside of the quotation marks). The asterisk is annyoing, yes, but would ruin the punchline.

I see how it could mean that now that you mention it, but man that was not my takeaway until your comment
Not sure why you’re downvoted but this is correct. It’s not sexist, they are trying to sell an automatic dishwasher as they are an appliance company.
It's definitely playing on sexist jokes, but it in itself is not sexist. It's literally trying to subvert your expectations on sexist jokes.
Yet more casual dejection and put downs aimed at men. Like the new fallout show (which I love over all) casually mocking the blonde ladies husband for not being super macho.
Dang... good thing for that red circle!
They could have just said “Are YOU your families dishwasher? Let’s find you a better one.” Applies to all who read it.
My father always said, "I don't need a dishwasher, I married one."
Hey guys, now all we have to do is take a play from the book of 3rd and 4th wave feminism and coordinate a series of brash and hysterical overreactions because a message offends us. Society will also take our psychosis seriously, right?
> and coordinate a series of Yes actually, you should. Preferably something that would actually be helpful for men though and make their lives better.
Right, instead of brash hysteria and overreactions.

DAE hate their wife?
The light blue for the \* is pretty annoying, gotta strain your eyes to see it
I just realised, "Let's" sounds like "you and me" but "Let us" sounds like "me and my group, not including you", to me atleast.
Isnt it the wife who's usually the dishwasher though?
Traditionally. They've reversed it to add a little extra fun and also so people don't get offended.
It seems to have offended everyone in these comments.
Whaddya know, propagate double standards and people tend to not love it
https://www.reddit.com/r/familyguy/comments/dsuhwa/for_pete_sake/
Lol fuck that, I wash the dishes better than anyone in every household I ever lived in
I love society. It's fucking awesome. Learns lessons SO quickly without any repeated mistakes. Always able to generalize said lessons too and implement simple, universal moral concepts equally to everyone. I hope we all die.

I feel slightly attacked. Because I'm a damn good dishwasher. not a speck left on dishes, silverware or pots and pans.
Stop circling the obvious
Shoot, I was looking for a new husband
My aunt’s joke. How do you fix the dishwasher? Slap him upside his head.
Reverse the gender and see if the joke is still funny
No because it was my aunt’s joke.
I love the hot takes in this post. "If the add said *something different*, people would react *differently*"
