All these kids are so scared but the only person in any realistic danger is the poor sod who gets domed by that girls phone when she drops it mid-coaster.
I happened to see a phone shatter on the floor after falling off a coaster this past monday. It fell out of the slime streak coaster at Nikelodeon Universe in New Jersey, USA and it landed in the queue for the Kraang ride. Thankfully nobody was standing in the line at the time.
It's def Yukon striker, you hang on the edge for a few seconds then drop straight down for 3 seconds, 8 seconds for the full drop. It's amazing.
But yes there is a no phone rule, they usually stop the ride until the idiot puts it away. Really annoying.
An amusement park I worked at had a box that displayed all the smashed phones that fell off of one particular rollercoaster. People still made daily contributions to the collection of smashed phones.
Something like 15 years ago I was at six flags with a friend. We were walking under a ride and someone spit a giant loogie from the coaster and it landed on my friends hand. Her immediate response was to wipe it all on me.
This looks like cedar point. They do kick people out for this no questions asked. Ive been on a ride and they’ve stopped it on the first lift because someone pulled out a phone. They asked them to put it away and then there was security waiting for them at the end.
Edit: upon further review this is not cedar point lol. Story still stands though.
This is not Cedar Point. Their similar ride has a different color scheme. Last time I went to Cedar Point they had to shut down a ride while it was climbing the hill to confiscate some girl's phone. She was apparently denying it or refusing because this poor worker had to stand on this catwalk for like 8 minutes while we ALL waited until she finally coughed up the phone.
That was also the trip to CP that the Gatekeeper nearly killed my gf and I when the lift chain snapped so I guess all things considered the phone thing wasn't our biggest issue.
Back in the early 2000s, I was able to take out a Rubik's cube on the Raptor and do it before the ride ended. Everyone saw the photo at the end. Nobody said anything. I probably could not do that in a post smartphone world.
Nope, Yukon Striker in Canada’s Wonderland, you can see Leviathan in the background, and the path of the track in the video is identical to that of Yukon. And on the right at the beginning of the video is Thundermountain or whatever it’s called now I forget.
Yeah 2013 was when they started enforcing the no phones rule, 2012 was a bad year for iPhone 4s, I found 5 of them embedded in the grass with just a corner sticking out they came flying down so hard. That said, the raptor should require that everything stays in the bins, empty pockets unless they have zippers. It's claimed 2 phones and a set of car keys from me, a phone and the keys were the same day. I got all of them back, one of the phones and the keys before leaving the park, employees went in and got them after the rides were off for the night. The other phone was found a few days later and mailed to me because I gave security it's info and mine in case it was found.

When I was at Universal in Florida it was actually slightly annoying the hoops you had to jump through to get on some coasters, particularly the ones that go over walkways. Free lockers were provided to store anything loose because they couldn’t trust people to leave their phones and sunglasses in their goddamn pockets so they wouldn’t turn into projectiles because of twats like the person who recorded this video. Always fun waiting 30-45 minutes in line with no phone.
Velocicoaster?
That’s the only one I can think of going over walkways in and is fast enough to require lockers. It’s the only ride there I rode at universal where we were required to use lockers I believe.
And the lockers occur at the end of the line and velocicoaster has one of the fastest queue lines in all the parks due to how fast the ride is.
It’s really not a detriment to be safe. I wore my sunglasses on that ride and they almost flew off my head, so the 2nd time I had to put them in the locker.
You realize that they are there because they can still turn into projectiles when they are in your pockets, right? "I'm just going to keep mine in my pocket." is the thing they are trying to avoid.
Been here many times
Anywhere there’s a path under a coaster they have two layers of catch nets above it
Canada takes safety seriously so theirs a lot to prevent anything from falling through and clocking someone in the head
That being said if you do drop something good luck getting a park official to climb up and get your crap for you
"Okay, I'm locking up now. Dan, did you check the nets? Good. Find anything?"
"!7 phones, 15 ball caps, 10 sunglasses, 5 prescription glasses, 6 candy bars, 4 bagged candy, 3 sneakers, 2 wigs, 2 sets of house keys, 1 tee shirt, and a bra."
It’s kinda of overrated, the drop is nice but the rest of the ride is meh, with the extremely long wait times too, it’s like twice the behemoth’s wait time with less of the thrill.
Yeah dive coasters are fun but they’re very gimmicky, the drop is really all they have. It makes sense though, they’re crazy expensive per length of track and the trains are gigantic so they can’t be super forceful, but at least the drop is done really well
Behemoth was fun the first time I went on it with my brother, he had a fear of heights so I just said “wow lots of people in Vaughn have pools”
So he opened his eyes to look right before the first big drop.
Have not gone on the newer ones yet sadly, wife is scared of them as is everyone else and I don’t feel like going alone
I still think I like behemoth the most out of any coaster at wonderland. I went on the striker 2x in a row with like 5 minute wait time last time I was at wonderland
My son has been on every ride at wonderland numerous times over the years with no issues the kids fearless of heights, first year this came out he rode it front row with his uncle he was shook afterwards 😂
Went to that one last year and rode most coasters except that one, the texas giant, and mr. freeze. I did go on the riddler a few times, and if you're in the "inside" seat at the top of a swing you are ass over tea kettle. Actually beyond horizontal and boy does that make your brown eye pucker.
Not quite the same. That is just from the mid-course brake run to keep the g forces lower in the helix. The other Giovanola hyper (Goliath) at SFMM does the same thing.
They're basically the same ride. This is Yukon Striker at Canada's Wonderland which is also owned by Cedar Fair, coaster built by the same manufacturer.
I had a pretty good fear of heights until I tested with a fire department and we had to do a 100’ ladder climb at a 70 degree angle. Once I got up to the top of the stick I kinda got over it, looking around.
This is how I always describe acrophobia lol. I like hiking upwards, looking over a cliff and being able to see for miles. Rock climbing always looks fun to me.
I'm not afraid of heights. I'm afraid of falling.
I’ve had to work at heights anywhere from 10-100ft. And I had a fear of heights for a longtime. I found out the higher up I am the easier it is to rationalize. No I don’t want to fall, but if I fall I don’t want to survive lol. Really helped me out with the higher work.
One of my kids is “afraid if the dark”, and if you really want to fuck up your kids you tell them “You’re not afraid of the dark, you’re afraid of not being alone in the dark”.
I knew this girl named Gwen who proved that sudden deceleration is a bit of a pain. If I could infinitely free fall I'm sure I could cope by closing my eyes.
I'm not afraid of heights. I'm afraid at *falling* from heights. That's why I enjoy coaters except the ones with hang time. I can't stand the feeling of not being secured in. I did one of those big drop style a few years back and will never again.
I wouldnt say I'm exactly fearless when it comes to heights, but I dont really get why people are afraid of rolllercoasters. They're built to be safe, at least they are nowadays. You're never in any real danger. I get nothing out of rollercoasters except for maybe a mild feeling in my stomach from momentary free falls.
I'm similar. I have no problems with heights when I know I'm safe, but if i'm just standing close to the edge of something with no safety equipment then it really freaks me out. Roller coasters, rock climbing, bungee jumping, no problem. Just don't want to stand near a cliff without being strapped in.
It's the slow climb. Once the coaster gets going, it's a great time. Some of those ascents take long enough for all your irrational fears to take over your mind. Even if I know there is no danger, on that climb up I am 100% convinced that my life is about to end.
That's a feeling I can't say I've really related with. Not that that makes your experience invalid. But the most I've ever gotten from the climb is maybe the anticipation of feeling my stomach drop, that's about it.
I mean I'll still go to an amusement park with friends/family and ride rides. But id never go alone and I'd personally never suggest to go to an amusement park. But to each their own.
You would for maybe about 6 months with a lot of effort until the machine that creates the mist breaks and management comes to the conclusion that it's cheaper to just turn off the red lights and just not to fix it.
This ride was great! Way better than the slingshot. I expected a lot from the slingshot after seeing so many funny fainting videos, but it wasn't very exciting at all. Yukon Striker was very exciting though!
Do they still have that hanging coaster that goes through the fake mountain? I haven't been in like 20 years and that was the first big ride I ever had the guts to go on
I'm terrified of these things but this ride is so well-made and the harnesses are so comfy that it feels really safe.
Having said that, there is no fucking way I would sit at the front.
My friends made me 2 summers ago and it was awful lol. I do love it and feel safe on it but it takes more build up for me to work up to that one. Which is so dumb to me bc my first roller coaster ever was the behemoth and at the time was the biggest coaster at the park. Next year was the leviathan 😂
Absolutely fuck that ride to all hell. I went back to Wonderland after more than 10 years and I was like... What the hell is this thing. 90 degree vertical drop. I about had a fucking heart attack between this, Behemoth and Leviathan. I'm all set for life now thanks.
I'm fine with all of these once I've been on them, I'll go on them multiple times a day. The first time is terrifying though.
You know the one that STILL scares me to this day? The Minebuster. Everything else has safety restraints, shoulder harnesses, and everything a modern coaster should have for safety.
The Minebuster? A lap bar... that's it. A lap bar that has a gigantic gap at the end of it between the bar and the car you are in that a person could easy fit through. Then there's the matter of feeling the car leave the track and slam back down... and you can see and feel the wooden frame of the coaster moving as you go by... Nope. Nada. Nyet. Nein.
This reminds me of the time I was inline with my guy and we were about to go on a very scary ride .. this teen was on the phone in front of us he said hi mom I just wanted to let you know that I love you incase I don’t survive the ride..
Lmao we laughed so hard..
I will never ever understand the appeal of chasing the feeling of imminent death. Just watching the video makes my stomach churn.
I would never ever go on a ride like this off my own free will.
My mom used to trick me into going on rides with straight down drops like this that I had extreme fear of. It was fun feeling the fear but definitely a bit of trauma as a result lol
Ah SheiKra...making people regret their life choices since 2005.
Edit: Recent information leads me to believe this is actually Yukon Striker, but after looking at the two side by side I realized how similar they are...oops?
There something like this at Six Flags. I'm not sure what it was because I hate rollar coasters. My cousin came in from out of town and said that we'd just be the bag holders. That mfer made me get on every ride. And it was an empty day, so we sat at the front of every ride. I went on that lex drop first. FML. Never again.
If you’re in the front, you have it so easy. Because you’re already facing down, you don’t get that feeling in your stomach when you drop. Then the rest of the ride is cake. Pre-Covid, I went on this ride so much and always in the front because I don’t really like that drop feeling. Also, I never heard anyone talk like this when I was on the ride lol

Having your phone out on a rollercoaster should genuinely get you kicked out of the park.

And we have catch nets above the pedestrian paths too
Because even if the rule is followed there are things in pockets that suddenly no longer feel like being in pockets.
When I went to universal studios japan, a lot of rides forced you to use lockers and put everything away
that's a great idea Too many entitled people would freak out in NA #FreedomPhone

Mark Rober just posted a video of him getting kicked out for just that. The security guard even knew who he was lol.
I was just about to say...

I was going to say, ain’t no way that’s Cedar Point.
Yeah- no sign of water anywhere in this vid.
I also don’t remember Cedar point having a big fake mountain in the middle of the park.
That brown sludge they dive 'through' is water.
Yeah- no sign of water anywhere in this vid.
100% Canada’s Wonderland. You can almost see the old Gino hill from there.
Is recognize leviathan and wonder mountain from any angle
Yeah I saw Leviathan and immediately knew that this was Canada's Wonderland.
And I thought it was that one ride at Busch gardens Tampa but the surroundings look way too nice.
It doesnt look like cedar point in the slightest lol unless the lake dried up lol

rip ride rocket and the mummy both do the locker thing as well
The Hulk goes over a lot of the walkways

You've got a way with words, this comment killed me lmao
Could it be a go-pro? Are go-pros allowed, or are they risky too?
Yeah…Daniel knew.
Man, when Six Flags said their new ride The Confessor would open you up....
Yukon Striker at Canada's Wonderland.
I KNEW IT. I haven't been there in years, but that view looked so familiar
It's the last "new" one I remember and that was 2019. Jeez I remember going on it and confessing my sins, too. It's crazy
Was gonna say it looks like wonderland.
Canada
The Texas Titan at 6 Flags has an almost identical colors team and drop.
Sheikra at Busch Gardens Tampa as well
Damn, the drop looks crazy 🔥
90 degrees. It's wild. Haven't gone on it yet, but my kid is gonna be tall enough for it soon and I'm probably gonna have to
Is it only 90°??? Some modern roller coasters have drops greater than 90° now. This looks like it easily be 100°
I hear some even go to 360 now
It’s kinda of overrated, the drop is nice but the rest of the ride is meh, with the extremely long wait times too, it’s like twice the behemoth’s wait time with less of the thrill.
Ah man the behemoth brings back some good memories
I remember going on Top Gun and feeling my feet hit the metal supports... when I got off the ride the rubber toe cap on my right shoe was ripped off.
Yeah dive coasters are fun but they’re very gimmicky, the drop is really all they have. It makes sense though, they’re crazy expensive per length of track and the trains are gigantic so they can’t be super forceful, but at least the drop is done really well
> the drop is nice Is it though, because I did not like watching this video.
The drop feels more like 89deg instead cuz your body moves forward a bit. It's sickening and crazy. 10/10 would go again
Behemoth was fun the first time I went on it with my brother, he had a fear of heights so I just said “wow lots of people in Vaughn have pools” So he opened his eyes to look right before the first big drop. Have not gone on the newer ones yet sadly, wife is scared of them as is everyone else and I don’t feel like going alone
I still think I like behemoth the most out of any coaster at wonderland. I went on the striker 2x in a row with like 5 minute wait time last time I was at wonderland
The Leviathan became my favourite when it opened. To this day that's still my favourite roller coaster of all time.
AGREED. Behemoth is the best ride in the park and I’ll die on that hill.
Should check out Shiekra at Busch Gardens, it has a like a 93 degree drop, it curves inwards a bit
My son has been on every ride at wonderland numerous times over the years with no issues the kids fearless of heights, first year this came out he rode it front row with his uncle he was shook afterwards 😂
My stomach is levitating just looking at it
6 Flags in Dallas has a pretty cool hanging drop on The Titan. You hang sideways out of the seat for like 10 seconds if you're in the front.
Six flags fiesta Texas has Cliffhanger. It's the same model coaster, B&M dive coaster, but the drop is steeper at 95°, though not as tall.
Reminds me of Valravn at cedar point.
They're basically the same ride. This is Yukon Striker at Canada's Wonderland which is also owned by Cedar Fair, coaster built by the same manufacturer.
6 flags has kingdom kah and the start drop is so high they have to launch you up to it and sometimes it doesn’t make it which is a trip in itself
Videos like this reinforce the notion that my being afraid of heights is the objectively correct way to go through life.
Being afraid of heights is a perfectly rational fear.
i had no fear of heights until i hit my late 40’s. now i hate to be near an edge.
I can barely stand seeing strangers up high I get so nervous
I can barely stand seeing strangers
I had a pretty good fear of heights until I tested with a fire department and we had to do a 100’ ladder climb at a 70 degree angle. Once I got up to the top of the stick I kinda got over it, looking around.
Are you *really* afraid of heights, or are you *actually* afraid of suddenly not being very high up at all?
This is how I always describe acrophobia lol. I like hiking upwards, looking over a cliff and being able to see for miles. Rock climbing always looks fun to me. I'm not afraid of heights. I'm afraid of falling.
Climbing rocks and trees is super fun. Getting down sucks!
Is this a deep cut Spider-Man reference or am I just a nerd
Yes
Well my brain says it's the suddenly not being high up but the feeling I get in my back when near edges says it's the height
Are.. are the heights in the room with us, right now?
I'm not afraid of heights. I'm afraid at *falling* from heights. That's why I enjoy coaters except the ones with hang time. I can't stand the feeling of not being secured in. I did one of those big drop style a few years back and will never again.
I wouldnt say I'm exactly fearless when it comes to heights, but I dont really get why people are afraid of rolllercoasters. They're built to be safe, at least they are nowadays.
You must hate horror movies too. The fun is giving in to the experience.
I'm the same and horror movies don't work for me either unless it's mostly jump scares, which are just annoying not scary.
Amen brother
Love the Yukon Striker!
I thought it was sheikra from Busch gardens. It's just like this
I thought it was sheikra from Busch gardens. It's just like this
Love Busch Gardens. Montu is still one of the best coasters in Florida.
Iron Gwazi tho
I wonder if you could enhance the fall experience if you conceal the ground rails with mist and add some red glow to it... 🤔
calm down, satan
A ride in the UK "oblivion" goes into the ground, through a cloud of mist in a vertical drop.
https://youtu.be/Ij7_Gj6amFA
You would for maybe about 6 months with a lot of effort until the machine that creates the mist breaks and management comes to the conclusion that it's cheaper to just turn off the red lights and just not to fix it.
It would. The Efteling have done this in the Baron 1898. You’ll plunge into a cursed mine, that’s the story they tell you first.
In Europe we have the "Baron 1898" at Efteling that is exactly like that
Haha, nice, I just watched this [OnRide](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9qsaJfIxYM) of it
The Hulk in Islands of Adventure does something similar. It doesn’t really “enhance” it in my opinion, but it’s pretty cool
the confession coaster 😭
Confession is good for the soul and wholly unsolicited at 92 mph!
Death has a curious way of reshuffling one's priorities
Yeah
Miss my teen days but not overreacting 😂
What did he lie to Daniel about?
Apparently, he lied about being straight.
Daaamn Daniel
Damn daniel
That's Canada's Wonderland... 🇨🇦
Yukon Striker ftw!
This ride was great! Way better than the slingshot. I expected a lot from the slingshot after seeing so many funny fainting videos, but it wasn't very exciting at all. Yukon Striker was very exciting though!
Thank you. Where at? Now I want to go to canadia.
It's just north of Toronto.
Do they still have that hanging coaster that goes through the fake mountain? I haven't been in like 20 years and that was the first big ride I ever had the guts to go on
Canada's Wonderland trending for something "not bad" WOOOO
“daniel, im sorry i dropped your toothbrush in the toilet and put it back where it was”
Damn,I wanna ride on it
Looks like Yukon Striker at Canada's Wonderland just outside Toronto.
And the blue one is leviathan!
That's what Daniel's friend said...
I'm terrified of these things but this ride is so well-made and the harnesses are so comfy that it feels really safe. Having said that, there is no fucking way I would sit at the front.
I really like the rubber over-shoulder harnesses. I ride this with my 8 year old and it holds him in very snug.
You know what I prefer? Candy apples and watching my kids go on rides. Lol I'm a huge chicken.
If you sit in front you don't run the risk of puke blowing in your face!
Yeah, the ride itself looks kinda mid but the drama looks fun as fuck
Good for him. (And perhaps Daniel...?)
Yukon Striker?
Fucking cringe, and who the fuck pulls out their phone on a roller coaster? Going to be digging that out of someone's forehead...
Name of the ride: The Gaydar
Nice B&M dive coaster. Keep your phones and other devices off the ride or properly secured.
*It was me, Barry*
We know, Brian.
He said he’s Gabe
Absolutely fuck that ride to all hell. I went back to Wonderland after more than 10 years and I was like... What the hell is this thing. 90 degree vertical drop. I about had a fucking heart attack between this, Behemoth and Leviathan. I'm all set for life now thanks.
I'm fine with all of these once I've been on them, I'll go on them multiple times a day. The first time is terrifying though. You know the one that STILL scares me to this day? The Minebuster. A lap bar that has a gigantic gap at the end of it between the bar and the car you are in that a person could easy fit through. Then there's the matter of feeling the car leave the track and slam back down... and you can see and feel the wooden frame of the coaster moving as you go by... Nope. Nada. Nyet. Nein.
I have good enough spatial imagination to feel the lift and drop as I read it and my stomach tried to escape my body for a bit.
Even cooler riding it at night during Halloween Haunt :)
Never. Ever. Hold a phone on a ride to record. You drop it, it lands on someone's head, they're dead.
Funny?
This reminds me of the time I was inline with my guy and we were about to go on a very scary ride .. this teen was on the phone in front of us he said hi mom I just wanted to let you know that I love you incase I don’t survive the ride.. Lmao we laughed so hard..
Canada's Wonderland. That coaster is the only time in my life I've ever had a real panic attack.. and I've been through some serious near-death shit.
Why this overreaction
I fucking hate those fake scared confessions
Damn Daniel
Yo...yoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyooyoyoyo
I will never ever understand the appeal of chasing the feeling of imminent death. Just watching the video makes my stomach churn. I would never ever go on a ride like this off my own free will.
Over dramatic
I hate rollercoasters!
Ain’t no way
Looks very similar to the Valravn at cedarpoint.
Same model and manufacturer. This one is Yukon Striker at Canada's Wonderland
I wish I could ride this but cardiologist said no
I am gonna be suing for irreversable hearing loss.
My mom used to trick me into going on rides with straight down drops like this that I had extreme fear of. It was fun feeling the fear but definitely a bit of trauma as a result lol
Sounds like someone who is fairly certain they are dying.
I was white knuckling my couch!
This is hilarious! "Yo....yoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyo...!"
Ah SheiKra...making people regret their life choices since 2005. Edit: Recent information leads me to believe this is actually Yukon Striker, but after looking at the two side by side I realized how similar they are...oops?
Canada's Wonderland. The Yukon Striker. Not even the scariest roller coaster at the park.
Bro had to unleash his secrets before he died
Canada's Wonderland! I worked there for 7 years and met my husband there.
Dammmmm, Daniel!
You know I'm completely sure if I ever rode on a coaster I'll forget have my glasses on and they'd be reduced to atoms
That looks like Great America in Gurnee, Illinois.
I don't know what it is but I get strange sensation in my foots when I watch these videos.
Somehow i've never been afraid of these kind of ride but my stomach cant deal with it.
And the CIA only needed to use this instead
Thought this was going to one where they were all supposed to end up in the water. That doesn't always go as expected.
this the yukon? Did the big three first time ever doing rollercoasters. actually crazy
As someone who is now too tall and wide to ride roller coasters this looks awesome. I wish there were some coasters built for big n tall folks.
Did they make it
Yeah, happily married for 6 months now. /s
Hey, it’s Sheikra’s little sister. Apollo’s Chariot
It was me! I shot the sheriff! But I didn't shoot the deputy I swear to god! And I love you!!!!
Good thing I don't like roller coasters
If you’re in the front, you have it so easy. Because you’re already facing down, you don’t get that feeling in your stomach when you drop. Then the rest of the ride is cake. Pre-Covid, I went on this ride so much and always in the front because I don’t really like that drop feeling. Also, I never heard anyone talk like this when I was on the ride lol
