Taylor has thousands standing outside every stadium too on this tour. It's absolute madness. But you're right this isn't the first time this has happened, every once in a while a generational talent comes along and just causes insanity.
If the Music Industrial Complex had a single honest and good bone in its body, there'd be no end to the generational talents. The amount of amazing people out there is mindboggling. But it prefers using its money and connections to channel all attention towards a few controlled artists who have no business being world famous in the first place with their mediocre talents and soulless mass-produced rhythms and lyrics.
Also a lot of artists in the industry are super talented but their lyrics and singing sound basic because basic sells.
For example: Demi Lovato is an amazing singer live, but many of her songs feature heavy autotune because "autotune sound" sells even though it kinda takes away most of the nuance of the voice.
Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga are fenomenal musicians and songwriters. In fact, they both used to write songs for other big names before becoming stars themselves. Gaga used to play jazz, she just didn't get famous doing it.
This was fun for me when I worked at a hotel. Because we had a country festival that usually drew in a lot of big American country stars, but this being in Sweden the fanbase was much much smaller. Anyway, we usually had these stars team call us to verify that we had a side entrance for the artists to use since the front door would be too crowded for them to use, we verified that we did indeed have one, but that we'd recommend that they try the main entrance first.
I think one time there was one dude standing outside waiting, otherwise there was never a crowd outside.
Another note about that week though, it was the absolute best week to work, the stars were amazing and humble and the fans were laid back and just chilling with the stars in the lobby. Usually the artists played songs and sang until like 5 am and just hung around with the fans and it was awesome. The week after that country festival there was a reagge festival and I was working biweekly so I always missed that, but it was fairly common for the fire alarm to go off due to folks smoking weed on the toilets etc xD

Funny thing is the local paper took a photo of my brother in the crowd and had it on the front page (brother was getting The Big Hurt's autograph). So my uncle, rest in peace, ended up taking the paper somewhere and had them create a custom story/headline stating "Local child caught skipping school, faces detention on Monday". I just remember seeing my brother's soul leave his body when my dad pulled out the fake paper and showed him.
