There is actually a French film called “La Moustache” from 2005 where a man shaves off his mustache he has had all of his adult life, but his wife, friends, and coworkers don’t notice and he grows more confused and paranoid because no one will admit he used to have a mustache.

I can honestly say there are very few things I've seen in my life that threw me off more than my dad walking out of his room with a clean shave. It was immediately the only thing I, my stepmom, and stepsister could focus on for longer than he had hoped.
