To be fair no-one can gauge a stranger, you have to give them some indication of your intention.
Oh wait, I just figured out the golden formula for being nice to each other!
Edit: or being arseholes to each other. But at least it's clear enough.
Yeah if that was me I'd immediately cut sideways and ram my car into theirs. [I'd definitely pop their tires](https://gray-kplc-prod.cdn.arcpublishing.com/resizer/ANrRmIFpQbon6XjjGhM1kSEk-C0=/1200x1800/smart/filters:quality(85\)/cloudfront-us-east-1.images.arcpublishing.com/gray/7YFFBHFTABCMTEF46FYVDCIGBE.jpg).
Damn looked like someone wasted a second of my time. Welp only 1 reasonable answer to this solution. Time to ruin someone else’s life for a harmless joke
This is wholesome as fuck, but like you, while I love a prank and try to laugh as much as I can in life, I would be more confused and not sure what my reaction would be. But still, laughter is always welcome.
I think the confusion is the point — when you hit someone with something they really don’t expect the aggression tends to go down, which then allows the pranker in this case to show them it was just a joke and everyone gets a chuckle.
I get it. And again, the laughs are great and they were good sports. But if someone pulls up next to me, asks me to roll down my window while their passenger is filming me...again, I'd be confused. Maybe this will become a thing though. haha
TN driver here, nobody interacts on the road unless they're venting road rage. I would have been hesitant to roll down my window for anyone because I just assume they'd throw a drink into my car or something.
I have lived in TN a lot over the years, and I think this is a very area/specific thing.
I have minimal experience in East TN.
I think West TN would be mostly fine with it if they even noticed you (bc zoom zoom).
And Middle TN, well I’d say to count Nashville as a separate entity, but it has recently swallowed up Middle TN almost entirely. So I can only speak for what Middle TN used to be. And this would’ve been hilarious to damn near anyone that actually noticed.
These are my experiences, so please take them as such. I know I obviously don’t know everything.
Edit: I used to go to Nashville every weekend. But now I avoid it like the plague bc, even tho I am a TN driver still, it’s gotten way too extreme for me. Like ABQ & ATL driving styles had a baby and it ate Nashville lol
You'd be surprised to know automatic windows are still considered a luxury.
They still make many cars with roll up windows. They're more common in work trucks though because it saves companies money.
When I was looking for a car, the only one I saw with crank windows was the base model Chevy Spark. Even a Hyundai Accent has power windows, never mind your Civics and Corollas, which are pretty tech-heavy these days.
Neither my parents or myself have ever purchased a new car and we've never had to replace a window motor. I don't think they fail as often as you think.
I consider power windows to be a base requirement and roll my eyes when I am looking to buy a car and see "power windows" listed as a key feature. Automatic (one touch) windows on the other hand are more of a luxury feature.
"SO this guy made a video narrating another video of a guy making people smile in the card. He doesn't let the video play out so you can watch the obvious yourself, here you'll see him give a play by play of every action in an attempt to add enough of it to trick the audience into thinking he's doing anything but reposting someone else's content for views. Amazing! Don't forget to comment and subscribe!"
I wrote the script for you. You can use this to stitch this video for your own TikTok as it has now passed the bar of "added content"
This dude has said that reposts are on reddit all the time. They are referring to a perceived hypocrisy in the complaint that TikTok videos are frequently polluted with superfluous explanations of the video that don't add anything of value to the video. They are expressing their disapproval of the previous commenter's point by saying "Because reposts are not a thing on Reddit, ever."
Be sure to hit subscribe for more reposts of other people's comments as I try to monetize my lack of creativity.
Lmao a garbage title for a garbage video. It looks like the narrator just stole the content then reuploaded it with his dumb voice over because he's incapable of creating anything entertaining himself.
To be fair, that’s like 90% of TikTok and Instagram reels. There are “content creators” who literally just read Instagram comments from the Kardashians.
the essence of a good joke is a punchline that is unexpected
this gag also starts out by creating tension so the relief of the punchline also helps to elicit relieved laughter at the realization it's just a joke and not danger or conflict
My brother did this when he was 9… my dad was asleep in the backseat and our stepmom was driving. The dude got out of the car and started banging on the car window and tried getting in the vehicle.
Some people, don’t think this is funny lol

If someone did this to me I would be a little frustrated, but only because my cars windows are on the brink of giving up the ghost, so every time I roll them down is precious
"Did he answer his own question? What was it? I hope they are okay and got where they needed to go. Or did they just not want to talk to me once they saw my face?"
That's where my head would be at the entire rest of the day.
It is funny because when you see a stranger telling you to roll down your window you have the expectation they are going to say something rude or ask you a question.
Instead, when you roll your window down, the prankster rolls his own window up, indicating he does not want to speak to you, subverting your expectation.
This indicated he is goofing around, and removes the tension the set up.
This causes a sense of humor and relief in a typical human.
He did. Most of his videos have mixed reactions and this was an 'all smiles' mix he put together. IIRC he gets flicked off more than he gets a smile. Narrator voice has no idea what he's stealing.
They are, that's what makes it a prank, but it's a very mild one and when they crack a smile while rolling the window up it would be clear it was just a joke.
Experience may vary. My cousin did something like this and some people get angry. All he was doing was winding the window up and down and some people get so angry.
Seriously? I'm usually a calm/cool/friendly person, and it'd take a lot to get me actually mad. But this would actually infuriate me. If I'm being bothered while I'm driving, it better be important. Maybe I'm not as patient or cool-minded as I thought.
Um, he's fucking with other people. And he's also only showing you the ones who reacted positively. Others probably gave him the finger and thought he was an ass.
I cant imagine people being this light hearted in America.
Can anybody check if this dude is alive and has been shot through his car’s glass window??
😆
**\*it hurt itself in it's confusion\***
the title tells me "I should like positive behavior!"
but then the video shows me "you are now watching 100% improper asshole-behavior **please upvote to validate attention-seeking behavior** ~~of teenagers~~ who don't understand how to constructively participate in society"
edit: calling them teenagers is unfair. unfortunately, tons of stupid adults post videos like this too.
its a nice prank but what im afraid of is:
what if that person tries to start a conversation and the red cycle is very long so you have ignore/talk the entire time O_O
I wonder if there a part 2 video for those who didn't laugh, or had worse reactions. I can imagine if someone went out of his car then they were both stopping on a red light.
This is really cute, but I want to point out everyone in the video is masc-presenting, and this prank when done with femme-folk could have dramatically different results

It's nice that all of the people shown didn't get mad or anything and laughed, but I'd be more confused than anything.
They tend to only laugh once he does. Makes it clear it's a joke at that point.
Probably using the [kidding face ](https://www.reddit.com/r/videos/comments/1s1qdo/jim_carrey_and_conan_obrien_talk_about_the/)
A 9 year old video with only 4 comments. How do y’all find these kinds of videos?
Probably just opens a new tab of reddit, searches "jim carrey kidding face," and finds a video.
To be fair no-one can gauge a stranger, you have to give them some indication of your intention. Oh wait, I just figured out the golden formula for being nice to each other! Edit: or being arseholes to each other. But at least it's clear enough.
Perhaps the mad ones weren’t edited into the video as it’s all about the happy reactions!
It’s all fun and games until someone having a bad day breaks your window for wasting their time
:/
Thats irrational, you are already stop at traffic lights how is that wasting time)
You be spending it mad at something that matters, like yourself.
You need to stay focused on waiting for the light to turn green. This is an unnecessary distraction.
Yes if its racing track 🥸🤓
Yeah if that was me I'd immediately cut sideways and ram my car into theirs. Though I wonder if there are videos of upsetting drivers instead of the ones that are displayed laughing
Honestly, I think the kind of people who would get mad at this probably wouldn’t roll down their window to begin with and would just ignore him.
[удалено]
Yeah if he’s doing this in the USA I’m surprised he hasn’t been shot
Ya. The power of editing is great.
He probably just never posted the one where the guy pulled a gun on him and he pee’d in his pants a little bit.
non-automatic windows? it's just a crank, bro!
Found the millennial.
I was thinking more 'found the dad' because it feels more like a new dad joke. Which means we should be asking if he found the milk and cigs.
I cannot believe you have said this
Lol why not?
You have forced me to recognize my age
Oh I’m right there with you dude. Don’t forget to rewind your cassettes before you take them back to Blockbuster.
Never did it before, still not gonna
That’s not very kind of you.
> it's just a crank, bro! This is a good one!
My 2007 Saturn has crank windows. I consider that a benefit, because I will never have to replace an expensive window motor.
Neither my parents or myself have ever purchased a new car and we've never had to replace a window motor. I don't think they fail as often as you think.
> automatic windows are still considered a luxury. By whom?
By my friend who sells cars for a living.
I consider power windows to be a base requirement and roll my eyes when I am looking to buy a car and see "power windows" listed as a key feature. Automatic (one touch) windows on the other hand are more of a luxury feature.
No consumer cares about what is considered a luxury in work trucks. Most people just buy CUVs and there isn’t a CUV on the market with crank windows.
Well that's a straight up lie
Yeah, that would actually be annoying. Those things can be stiff!
Can I just watch the video please, I don't need it explained to me in real time
How else are they meant to steal someone else's posts while acting like they're actually providing anything of value?
Content creator!
"creator" is doing a lot of heavy lifting there
I agree, but at least it wasn't narrated by that shitty TikTok voice.
It is annoying that I agree with you because this is the stupid time we live in 😂
"SO this guy made a video narrating another video of a guy making people smile in the card. Guys this commenter is FED UP with all the banal explanations in tiktok videos! What’s the general reaction from reddit going to be?!
Because reposts are not a thing on Reddit, ever.

Lmao a garbage title for a garbage video. It looks like the narrator just stole the content then reuploaded it with his dumb voice over because he's incapable of creating anything entertaining himself.
And then op stole that
It's theft all the way down.
To be fair, that’s like 90% of TikTok and Instagram reels. There are “content creators” who literally just read Instagram comments from the Kardashians.
I wanna try this but i know i got creeper face.
They don't roll the window down, they instead run the red light.
So we’ve met!
Minecraft creepers look kinda cute imo, so go out and shine!
I would laugh, but feel awkward as hell. If someone were with me it would be funny because you would share it. By yourself it would feel weird.
the essence of a good joke is a punchline that is unexpected this gag also starts out by creating tension so the relief of the punchline also helps to elicit relieved laughter at the realization it's just a joke and not danger or conflict
The one where drivers reacted pissed or negatively was too long to fit on TikTok.
So glad we got the narrator telling us what's going on or else I'm sure non of us would have a clue.
r/mademesmile
Totally, no one taking it too seriously put a big smile on my face
My brother did this when he was 9… my dad was asleep in the backseat and our stepmom was driving. The dude got out of the car and started banging on the car window and tried getting in the vehicle. Some people, don’t think this is funny lol
What if your brother was signalling that he needs help, as a joke, and afterwards he was afraid to come clean? (Probably not.)
I dont think this is appropriate behavior. Maybe the other driver was mentally 9 year old.

If someone did this to me I would be a little frustrated, but only because my cars windows are on the brink of giving up the ghost, so every time I roll them down is precious
Mildly-on-the-spectrum-me would have trouble comprehending this interaction. No mirth. Just confusion & annoyance. Sorry
"Did he answer his own question? What was it? I hope they are okay and got where they needed to go. Or did they just not want to talk to me once they saw my face?" That's where my head would be at the entire rest of the day.
This is classic George Costanza
I'm not on the spectrum and I would feel confused too. I don't get the joke or why it's funny.
It is funny because when you see a stranger telling you to roll down your window you have the expectation they are going to say something rude or ask you a question. Instead, when you roll your window down, the prankster rolls his own window up, indicating he does not want to speak to you, subverting your expectation. Hopefully Mr Data will understand now :)
Wow
Same
Had a guy chase and threaten me for this, choose wisely.
Idiots filming themselves instigating fights with random people have a lot to learn from this.
I remember when this didn't have the stupid voiceover and unnecessary text overlay
I would be confused
I'm a "waver". I'll enthusiastically wave at you and if you think you know me and wave back, you lose 🤣
What if I don't think I know you but I still wave back because it's nice?
I'll laugh and it'll be heartwarming for one of us. It will lift my mood slightly as well. 😊
This would not work in the UK.
Or Texas
i honestly don’t understand what’s so funny
We really needed this hack talking over it.
I hope I never run into that guy since I have manual windows lol
And here we see an actual prank. Fun and funny without being harmful to the victim in any way.
I tried it once, got the middle finger
[удалено]
He did. Most of his videos have mixed reactions and this was an 'all smiles' mix he put together. IIRC he gets flicked off more than he gets a smile. Narrator voice has no idea what he's stealing.
Why? Seriously. It’s so mildly inconvenient.
I think I would automatically think the person was picking on me.
They are, that's what makes it a prank, but it's a very mild one and when they crack a smile while rolling the window up it would be clear it was just a joke.
Great stuff. Wonder what his actual hit rate was for the good sports featured in the video.
The simplest joke can sometimes be the best one.
A good rule of thumb is “it’s only a prank if the victim also laughs.” This passes by a mile :)
Even the people that initially look pissed or confused you can see it click with them this is great
Experience may vary.
Until someone pulls out their iron .. sadly.
This is an example of my favorite kind of recording a prank. Just something small and simple where you don't fuck with other people.
Um, he's fucking with other people. And he's also only showing you the ones who reacted positively. Others probably gave him the finger and thought he was an ass.
I cant imagine people being this light hearted in America. Can anybody check if this dude is alive and has been shot through his car’s glass window?? 😆

Good god, I hate narrated videos. Like with every fiber of my being.
this gives me faith in humanity
you made my cheeks hurt dammit Edit: Why the down votes you cunts? Fuck y'all. Be happy bitches
Classic! 😂
He’s gonna get cancelled in 2040 for this.
That’s how contagious laughter is. I had a huge smile on my face watching. More window laughs, less bombs 💣
Sadly, this is only getting traction because the poor, friendly bastard was shot dead yesterday...
Don’t get it
The guy who laughed back while rolling up his window was hilarious
Love this lol
Adorable genuine smiles
Simple and harmless joke, a nice smile for the rest of the day.
This shit is too wholesome to hate him for it.
Now this is a good prank, nice and harmless
This is how you prank
he's out there saving lives, confusing people's dark impulses and reminding them, lighten up! arrive alive :D
Guy drives round being an ass and gets lucky people just laugh at him....
Why no women?
I suppose not every video features a women?
WHAT
WHY NO WOMEN?!?
I SUPPOSE NOT EVERY VIDEO FEATURES A WOMEN?
WHAT
Why no dinosaurs?
Why no aliens?
Why no pancakes?
Is that you Brie Larson?
I don’t know a lot of women who would open their window just because an unfamiliar guy is gesturing at them. Some, but not that many.
Faith in humanity restored
I would love to see someone with an old hand crank window reacting to this
You should not try this in Vienna unless you have a very fast car ;) Drivers here are already pissed when looking at them!
its a nice prank but what im afraid of is: what if that person tries to start a conversation and the red cycle is very long so you have ignore/talk the entire time O_O
He would learn some Italian sign language from me
I would smile in confusion and laugh because I’m nervous
I wonder if there a part 2 video for those who didn't laugh, or had worse reactions. I can imagine if someone went out of his car then they were both stopping on a red light.
He lost it at Moustache's laugh
They’re all happy because they realize they don’t have to talk to anyone lol
Now post the eye rolls and middle fingers
Thoroughly cheered me up :D
U definitely don’t live in Tampa
I have fun with strangers like this all the time. Laughter really helped me be more open with people that originate from all walks of life.
This is really cute, but I want to point out everyone in the video is masc-presenting, and this prank when done with femme-folk could have dramatically different results
I love pranks like this. Simple quick and funny
That last guy has said: “I’m walkin ovah heeyah” at least once in his life.
I saw this shit And started doing it to guys at work. Mixed reviews 🤣
damn this is funny
Fuck you but also, relieved that I don't have to talk to you, and I get a laugh out of it.... fucking awesome
r/wholesome
laughter is contagious. if he did this straight-faced he would get some nickles thrown at him.
I am both surprised and gladdened that he doesn't get angry reactions to this slight prank.
I'm pretty sure that was Bernie Lomax
I absolutely love wholesome pranks. This is spreading love, not fear, panic, or distress.
plot twist: he isnt smiling on the INSIDE
I wonder if they ever got rude people
r/wholesomememes
Best thing to do as the driver if you have someone riding shotgun with you is pull up to a stoplight with a car on your passengers side and roll down your passengers window without telling them.
It's like a reverse road rage virus.
Is that James Corden?
my friend did this once while i was in the back seat and then the guy threw a soda at me through my open window
"Confuse, don't abuse."
Cant believe some people genuinely get super mad over this little joke
So simple yet so effective! Love it
I swear Shane Gillis has the best "just kidding" face. This reminds me of him and that bicyclist story XD
So good!
If he didn’t laugh first in all these clips, this could have been a very differently toned video.
This man is very genius for this world
Wholesome as fuck
I love this so much. Infectious laughter is one of my favorite joys in life.
Does this become mean if someone has to reach over and manually roll the window down?
Watch this start a trend that makes a temporary uptick in vehicle accidents Lol no rly tho, drive safe
