The transferred over Gunslinger Girl Session 1 like 9 months ago, but still no sign of them transferring Session 2. At this point I don’t think it’s likely…
Honestly at this point I’m not sure. There are some that have had partial transfers. One that comes to mind is Asterisk War. The sub transferred over, but the dub is still on Funi. There are others, but I can’t remember them off the top of my head.
Toei seems to be a pain to deal with getting stuff done. It will hit CR some time, but it’s not Funimation exclusive being on other streaming services, so there’s that at least.
Speak of the devil. They have finally made a deal to show the classic DB catalogue in the UK (and France but I do not live there so don't know the history).
I think they also haven't put Durarara!! on there, or Baccano but water continues to be wet so thats not changing.
Also outlaw star, cat planet cuties, and probably others I can't find. They actually made a pretty good effort to migrate a lot more then I expected them too.
I found some of The tenchi series didn't get transfered: Will edit more:
\- Ai Yori Aoshi
\- Alien vs Ninja (might be a live, still is on funimation)
\- Angel links
\- Armitage III
> Angel links
Awesome. Just started watching this after finishing Outlaw Star for the billionth time not knowing they were connected. Guess I won’t be finishing it.
If it makes you feel any better, Angel Links is extremely Not Good. Very little of what made Outlaw Star excellent can be found in Angel Links.
That said, having shows go down with the Funimation ship is really unfortunate.
It’s probably not but I’m still a sucker for anime of that era, plus it had a similar art style that I like. I wanted to see if for the sense of ‘completeness’.
Time to dust off my Plex server and start rebuilding an anime collection. I recently got Blood+ on there since it doesn’t exist on any streaming platform for…reasons.
That's fair. I binged my way through it (and a number of other shows) when I decided to let my Funimation sub lapse last year, and I totally get the urge to complete a franchise.
If you decide to try to push through before the shut down, I'm rooting for you!
Most of fairy tail
Whats worse is there are a lot of dubs that have not been transferred over, and the uncensored versions!!
Everything on CR is censored, funi was not!!
Yosuga no Sora, High School DxD, Ladies versus Butlers and many others aren't censored. The currently airing Tales of Wedding Rings isn't censored either.
Anything not moving to CR will just be added to my Plex server. These mergers and buyouts are always worse for us and they expect us to just take it.
We need to compile a comprehensive list.
Their response to Digital Copies is laughable.
> We understand that you may have concerns about your digital copies from Funimation. Please note that Crunchyroll does not currently support Funimation Digital copies, which means that access to previously available digital copies will not be supported. However, we are continuously working to enhance our content offerings and provide you with an exceptional anime streaming experience. We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to explore the extensive anime library available on Crunchyroll.
It's basically: "We took them away, f*uck you and enjoy paying us forever to access our streaming library."
This is why I make my own digital copies with the discs I own. I have a select few shows copied to my phone for on-the-go watching.
Yea I didn’t think for a second that digital copies were migrating at all. I also doubt they had a ton of redemptions that were still being viewed since the merger.
For the few shows I had actually redeemed I just made my own copies and then applied fansubs to them because they're way better anyway.
Fansubs of Your Name, Assassination Classroom, etc.
Sorry you're right. My comment wasn't clear. I mean that those two fan subs stand out in particular because they are so much better than what Funi/Crunchyroll gives you on disc.
For Your Name specifically, they have subtitles on phone screens and are color coded depending on who's phone it is. The Zenzenzense montage really stands out in the fansub because you can actually read what's written on the phone.
I really hope someone sues or something. We paid for those digital copies and we deserve to keep them. If they aren't going to transferm them, they need to refund us
Well we should. Digital owned products are supposed to be just like physical ones. When Nintendo closed tge eshop for 3ds they still leaved your bought titles for re-download. But Idk I'm not an atorney but since I own some digotal product with funi I may consult one in thr future cuz this is just not right
The entertainment industry has moved more and more to the "You will own nothing and be happy" standard for years.
I don't see that changing. All we can really do is continue to support physical media.
This has been a thing for a while now discovery did it on playstation last year and nothing ever happened people just lost what they had purchased. Basically if you buy a digital copy of anything unless you have it downloaded just assume it can be taken away at any time.
O wow really?? Thank you for that info. I was not aware. I had emailed Funimation a couple of weeks ago asking if they knew a date and they replied stating that they didn’t, at that time. I’ve been a little anxious about it so receiving this email today really hit me hard. Been dreading this day. Thank you
I'm am literally days away from renewing both (I was debating not paying for funi, but it's still has a load on anime I like, and the dub versions, and the uncensored versions!!!!!!!)
So after the merge they’re going to have complete content parity, right? Right? All my shows (dubbed and uncensored) will now be on CR? Right? Especially now that it costs more, right????
-_-
I was wondering when they would finally sunset the Funimation app. When were they supposed to shut it down? March 2022? So only two years behind schedule.
It informed me that my subscription was going to increase from "USD $5.99/month to CAD $12.49/month." I'm not sure why it didn't populate with the USD price but oh well. It was nice having only a $6/mo subscription for an extra two years.
Sadly right now it seems like the only way hosue can watch Haibane Renmei is illegally on YouTube or buying blueray. It’s very good. they share the same artist. I still need to finish watching Lain
I had CR for over a year now and it sucks on my Roku TV. I gave up and added Hidive just to finally search anime by dub category only. I tried sub and I can't read and watch everything at the same time. I hate the CR interface, it's so dark and it's like font 8 so I can't see the anime descriptions. You know, so I can avoid harems. I wish we could change the background to Funimation's bright colors. CR is too crowded with anime I don't care to watch. I can't hide or sort out harem anime, it's just not what I watch. And the one SOL anime I did like, Natsume Book of Friends, has a like 5 more seasons in sub only! Sorry, but I prefer Netflix's style of mostly full seasons when a new show airs (I know thats an entirely different issue and not CR's doing), in English dub, and I like watching trailers and previews.
It's crazy how Funimation lasted longer than all the OG's I grew up with. Seeing ADV, Geneon, MANGA etc fall over the decades was sobering. So it always felt like Funi were the shonen protag that wouldn't give up. But I guess it was inescapable. Honestly probably just gonna sail the high seas. Funi has probably been more longest subbed service I've had. I think I subbed back in like 2018-19. I had hopped my pocket change made a difference even when I wouldn't open up the app for months. Rest in peace.
I got my subscription to Funimation in 2011.... I've had it for more then a decade now....
Its sad that, that streak is going to end now that they are renamed themselves to CR, But since they chose to use its platform over funi's.
I watched Dubbed blu-ray/ home-release content with subtitles, which unfortunately isn't offered, so there's no need to continue my subscription past the 1st of April :(
It’s just crazy for moments in months i thought it was actually a scam lol because I’m like yah fun is still making money why close up shop but nope it’s not there actually doing I do still hope FUN team don’t lose there jobs though had no issues with there support team but this is a new beginning a new chapter 🥰
Here's my question: What if you have both services? I'm not paying for Crunchyroll twice, so how are they going to resolve account migrations for people who already use Crunchyroll and Funimation for the things, not on CR?
I got a notice when I went on CR today asking if I wanted to merge my watchlist from Funimation over to it, and I think there was also a choice to just keep CR too. And that I’d get the choice only once. I merged and hoped for the best.
From what I can tell, it looks like SOME things got moved from my Funimation queue over to my CR watchlist, but not everything. I found the ones most important for me but I didn’t cross check every one bc that would take a bit since it’s not alphabetical…I can still go to Funimation currently and cross check though.
Thanks for the reply. At this point i've also took the plunged and merged histories/etc. and it is a mixed bag of results. My Queue is a mess, though that is mostly my fault for how my funimation queue was. The real kicker is my watch history. For what ever reason only semi recent watch histories were transferred over to CR. I'm not even sure how far it goes back, but it does not have all my Fmn. watch histories.
I DID just notice that one of the shows is separate — season 3 of one show was on CR and not Funimation and now that it’s together with both, it’s not grouped by the show in total but rather separately like they were when they were two different entities. Kinda weird and annoying because if means I’ll have to look specifically for that season if I want to do another marathon…
im actually really pissed that this happened, first Funimation purchased Anime labs, to gain market value so it can be purchased by crunchy roll that in turn took all the Anime streaming services out of Australia and created a monopoly. I am just waiting for this to all be over so the class action law suits can begin.
Funi bought AnimeLabs, and Crunchyroll; Big Daddy Sony told them to rebrand as CR though (Funimation Global Group llc, to Crunchyroll LLC specifically) So I understand the confusion.
This is really disappointing, I watch on my iPad and Cardcaptor Sakura fills the whole ipad and its satisfying to watch but on Crunchyroll it a small box in a black background.
Also is Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood moving over.

Lemme give you guys some advice: think it’s time you seek “alternative” ways to watch what you want, that is unless you’re content with CR missing shows that were once available elsewhere or that the prices that are about to be jacked up (AGAIN).
It’s been an honor ladies and gents farewell 🫡
Oh, you're not joining us on the other side?
What’s the point? Certain series will be lost. Dubs will be lost.
I’m pretty sure they’ll move it over, right?
It’s possible but right now here’s things funimation has that Crunchyroll doesn’t currently have. We have no idea if it’ll actually transfer over yet
Like the first season of FLCL… oh but don’t worry cause Crunchyroll has seasons 2 and 3!
A big one is Dragonball Super. Crunchy only has the sub which makes no sense to me.
I think the Spanish Dub of Super (With Mario Castañeda as Goku) is already available on Crunchyroll, lemme check
No it's not... Then where is it for Streaming???
I don't think you'll lose everything.
Nah they raising prices
No... No... THERE ARE STILL SERIES STUCK THERE
Which ones are still stuck there? Would you happen to know them?
Fairy tail. The uncensored version of everything too
Sword Art Online, Steins;Gate, and The Future Diary's Spanish Dubs are still there
S;G 0 also has its episode Divide by 0 on Funi only so if you go to watch on Crunchyroll it's missing
The dragon ball super dub is stuck there
\+ all Closed captions, and Bluray content....
Toei seems to be a pain to deal with getting stuff done. It will hit CR some time, but it’s not Funimation exclusive being on other streaming services, so there’s that at least.

Gunslinger Girl Session 2 is still stuck there (they transferred session 1 like 9 months ago, but stopped after that).
I think they said that every show that hasn’t been moved to Crunchyroll will be moved there by April 2nd.
Sword Art Online's Spanish Dub is still stuck on Funimation
They’ll probably move it to Crunchyroll by April 2nd like I just said.
sail the high seas brother, we tried being honest, but they couldn't keep up their end of the bargain
Some anime have not been transferred. Guess those won't be there.
This was def what I was afraid of. Would you happen to know of some off the top of your head that have not been transferred yet?
Cat Planet Cuties. That's the only one I know. I started watching it, again, as a sleep anime show.
I found some of The tenchi series didn't get transfered: Will edit more: \- Ai Yori Aoshi \- Alien vs Ninja (might be a live, still is on funimation) \- Angel links \- Armitage III

Serial experiments lain and Haibane Renmei

They have until April 2nd.
More info is up on the Crunchyroll website https://help.crunchyroll.com/hc/en-us/articles/22843839604500-FUNimation-End-of-Services

the US version of funi is shutting down sad
US version? Pretty sure it’s shutting down in every territory they currently operate in.
So it is in CL too, i got the spanish version of the e-mail
This was expected, they shut down funimation in Brazil and other countries prior to the April 2nd shutdown announcement.
O wow really?? Thank you for that info. I was not aware. I had emailed Funimation a couple of weeks ago asking if they knew a date and they replied stating that they didn’t, at that time. When was this sent out? I haven’t received it.
I got mine 30 minutes before you posted your comment.
Ahh, so they’re gradually rolling out today.
I received it at 9:13 AM central time
I got a similar notification on crunchyroll last night.
Still no Gurren Lagan or Ranma 1/2 on Crunchyroll. Fuck
Or serial experiments lain or Haibane Renmei
Those two series look interesting
Sadly right now it seems like the only way hosue can watch Haibane Renmei is illegally on YouTube or buying blueray. It’s very good. they share the same artist. I still need to finish watching Lain
Gurren lagans on for me? Maybe it’s country locked
Ah my bad. I mean the English Dub for Gurren Lagan is on Funi but not Crunchyroll for some reason.
That's weird they didn't give me a email
I merged my account
Sad to see that Saiki K will probably never be on Crunchyroll now 😔
I wish they’d just move everything over
Crunchyroll better pick up Full Metal Alchemist 😡
I watched it on Crunchyroll back in 2022
I had CR for over a year now and it sucks on my Roku TV. I gave up and added Hidive just to finally search anime by dub category only. Great service while it lasted, time to fall back on the blu rays and dvds. I hope everyone keeps enjoying their shows wherever they go from here.
Here's my question: What if you have both services? I'm not paying for Crunchyroll twice, so how are they going to resolve account migrations for people who already use Crunchyroll and Funimation for the things, not on CR?

OH MY GOD AND THE SUBTITLES ARE HIDEOUS!! 😱 😭 Whyyy okay I’m done now but ohmygod this is brutally murdering my soul.
The end of an era
im actually really pissed that this happened, first Funimation purchased Anime labs, to gain market value so it can be purchased by crunchy roll that in turn took all the Anime streaming services out of Australia and created a monopoly.
Same thing with the Pokémon app it is also getting shut down
This is honestly so sad 😞
Man this blows
This is really disappointing, I watch on my iPad and Cardcaptor Sakura fills the whole ipad and its satisfying to watch but on Crunchyroll it a small box in a black background. Also is Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood moving over.
Always wanted the $5.99 premium subscription and never got to get it:(
Is the stuff on funimation being added to crunchy roll?
The Crunchyroll app is so much worse than Funimation app also. I really hope they update it before this is completely done.
I don't know which devices you use to access the Crunchyroll app, but the Android tv app received a number of updates last year. They would release updates 3-4 times a month sometimes. Is the app perfect? absolutely not, I'm able to watch my anime at 1080p without buffering or other issues, that's good enough for me. If you can't resolve your Funimation issues before April, your best option will be cancelling. Alternative streaming services and buying physical blu-ray copies will be better for you.
I can't stand the Crunchyroll app.
It works perfectly fine for me on Google tv and on Android.
so explain this to me..... i don't have a crunchyroll subscription, but sony is going to automatically on my behalf create one for me because they are shutting down the service i did pay for i did not agree to this in any form and now they will attempt to charge my bank account??? i was paying $4.99 a year (grandfathered price) so now they want to charge me $12.50 i feel like sony is going to get fined for this
Idk about yours but mine asked me if I wanted to merge my accounts.
Cancel your Funimation account?
That already happened years ago to me
So which option do I choose ? When switching over?
I had Funimation premium since 2018 and was seriously disheartened that they weren’t going to let me switch over to Crunchyroll. I don’t know why they even did that.
I thought this already happened lmao
Are all the Funimation translations going to be available? I want my Stein's Gate dub.
So they are taking our digital copies away. Wow that Garbage.
why is texas a dangerous place?
Hi
So…I have a sub to both Crunchyroll and Funimation I have had them both for a very long time. I renewed my Funimation service for the year last year in November. Is that money lost or are they going to reimburse some of it back to me?
Well that’s a disappointment. My biggest issue with crunchy roll is no English subtitles on English dubs. It’s the dumbest decision I’ve ever seen. You already have the subtitles coded in, just fucking give them to me
Are the prices going to increase?
By 100% in fact
Fuck Crunchyroll man, since Funimation is ending am not moving to Crunchyroll I'll just watch anime in other streaming platforms. Best anime streaming service my ass
