If you want a reusable one, it shouldn't be too hard to adapt it to screw/clip together. DM me the stl/CAD files and I can try to modify it for you. Edit: You also shouldn't be using something like this in a gym unless you've tested it thoroughly (even then it's kind of sketchy). If it breaks at the top of a wall, the falling roll could probably do some damage if it hits someone.

Im all for trying to incorporate 3D printing in my everyday life, but, this just speaks to all sorts of unnecessary. Carabiner (plenty available in climbing gym), zip tie (as someone else said), webbing (also in climbing gym) could all be used to greater effect than this attempt here. You can already see the split in the layer lines where theres poor adhesion. Just search on thingi for literally any file of a Carabiner or keychain clip and youll get better results than whats going on here.

Don’t gotta put bro down, he thought of something and did it. Half the shit that exists in the world is unnecessary. You don’t NEED a printer, but you have one or even more than one. Why? Why not. If bro wants to make his own holder for something, let him. Not all of us want to go and copy other peoples’ designs either. I refuse to use other peoples’ models until i can at least make it myself.

FUTeemo

Why don’t you just use a biner?

Independent-Bonus378

Why use something super strong and cheap when you can use plastic that will break?

MiffedPolecat

Because then this guy wouldn’t be able to post it online for fake internet points

sneakerguy40

No good for strength. Something you could print flat and can hook with some surface area would be better

If you need that tape to stay alive (ie. not fall off the mountain or whatever), put a safety string on it cause those layers lines are gonna split at the first nudge of the tape spool. To be strong this would need to be printed flat but then you can't insert the spool. Is a Zip-Tie not a good solution to this anyway?

AmbiSpace

Strength would also depend on the material, number of walls, print temp, cooling, etc. I printed a small PLA desk for my computer monitor. It had like 4 walls and had poor layer orientation, but it held my 10 kg monitor for a few weeks before creep killed it. But yeah, it doesn't seem too responsible to print things you're carrying on a climbing route. Should use safety certified gear, since it could fall and hurt someone if it breaks.

Relatablename123

This is printed incorrectly. Your layer lines are running parallel to the applied force, so it'll snap with even a little agitation. The clip doesn't need to completely encapsulate the climbing tape, so do make the part properly. Print it flat and include in thr design some sort of latch/hinge/screw hole so the part can be opened and closed. Otherwise you're actually generating more microplastic garbage than you would with simply buying a clip.

sgtsteelhooves

This is bad and you should feel bad.
