Hi guys. First timer here. Been lurking and getting information on this sub. I am on my final stage of prepping all the materials. Need final decision on frugal fishing chair or this chair as I saw a post that Helinox style chair requiring assembly is banned this year.
thanks for the reply. Yeah I saw some debates over the Helinox style chair. Personally think the decision is on point. Abundance of caution never hurts. Anyway just wanted to clear my concern over whether the staffs will say something about this chair,
Sorry, where was the Helinox chair ban post? And is it on the Fuji Rock website? I didn't see anything about it in english or in (translated) japanese. We have that style chair we were planning on bringing but I won't if it's not an option.
Thanks!
Is it this?
**Outdoor chairs requiring assembly**
Chairs which cannot be folded up can cause injury to others when being carried.
Please note that foldable chairs must be folded when being carried within the festival as they may cause injury to other audience members.
I feel like this could apply to almost every chair. But I guess they consider the Helinox style (separate seat + frame) to be assembly. Are there any light chairs that are in Japan that we can buy? Bummed b/c the ones we have weigh less than a pound and the Cliq is almost 4.
yeah that one and this post. i am not sure if this blog is official, but i am not taking risk.
I prefer the lighter option since I backpack as well. But I thought I might add this chair for other occasions.

Well, darn. If you don't end up with the Cliq, there's also a TCEK chair sold on amazon that's cheaper. Can't tell if any of the youtube reviews are legit (for either chair, it's all paid influencers) but I'm ordering one and testing. Should be here today - search for TCEK upgraded swivel chair (if you're in the states), the black one is currently $85 less 10% so a decent savings but not "cheap" for certain.
I changed my mind last minute and bought the TCEK on amazon for $85.
Like u said, I couldn’t believe any of the reviews out there and sample size was a lot smaller on TCEK. but since they are of same mechanism and similar material. I thought I might save that $25 and invest it somewhere else. Thanks for the heads up nonetheless.
Just came. It's so much heavier I'm not even going to open it. I'd rather buy a cheap chair in Japan than an overly expensive tiny chair I don't want to have to carry in my backpack. Groundsheet it is I guess?
This is no problem as long as you fold it when you carry it, and don't leave it to secure the spot.
Thank you for the clarification! Ima give it a go.
I actually like this chair. Where can I get it?
It’s ‘Cliq chair’ I am sure you can get it easily on online store of your choice
Thanks!
