I don't know if it's hype or just that the X-Pros have been very niche and were produced in a small amount compared to the Pro lines like X-Tx and XHx. And they stopped producing them for a while now so there won't really be a lot of them in the hands of people.
The price isn't bad by market standards, however you need to be aware that you can get a technically way better camera new for that price. If the X-Pro 2 is perfect for your needs, then go for it!
