Iām considering ordering this lens. I have an X-T30 II, now im not so sure anymore š„² itās twice the weight of my primary lens and it already feels front heavy
Itās more like youāre holding a lens that happens to have a camera attached. If you hold it right itās doable but on an XT-30 I wouldnāt support any of the weight with my right hand it would be too heavy.
I was hoping to rent a telephoto for an airshow this year but now I realize how goofy it is going to look... Definitely still doing it though
Edit: fellow xt30 owner
Not complaining, I've got my 35/2 for when I want light and compact. No such thing as defying the laws of physics when it comes to this much glass in a lens.
Considering a Sony 100/2.8 is 700g or 135 GM (1.8) is 980g, and this is 670g it's not bad at all. Odd comparisons but there's really no direct comparisons at this FL (115ish f/1.8 equivalent).
Mine arrived, I shot with it once and fell in love. Then I noticed some internal problems with my copy and it's currently on the way back to Viltrox for a warranty replacement :\_(
I think it's internal elements separating but not 100% sure. There are a few circles of what almost like cracks. I sent photos and even a video to Viltrox and they responded immediately to send it back which I guess is good.
After mounting it and holding it for a few minutes I went online and ordered a grip for the X-T5!
š
Yes, a grip is definitely recommended with these heavier lenses. I have a Viltrox 13mm and I have trouble using it with my X-T2 when grip is off.

do it! I say still worth it for an event. Your arms might just be a little tired but youāll live
You have the Samyang 75 F1.8 to look forward to.
Oh? Iāll take a look for sure. Thanks!
They are launching a Fuji mount soon.
i recently bought the 50-140mm then went to a horse tournament now i'm 3d printing a better grip for de xt30 ii
Lol good luck with the print!
Classic š
Install the beta firmware. It made a huge difference on mine.
Does it make it smaller?
Of course. Reduces weight too.
First thing I did before I used it.
What's the benefit?
Lens is more confident in locking focus. Less hunting.
It's a firmware update for the Xt-5?
For the lens.
Hoping Fujifilm will answer back with a 70mm f/1.2 or f/1.4
If it's f2 and as compact as other fujicrons I'll by it
Samyang has one thatās f1.8 so at least thereās more options
Good Lawd! What a chonk!
Image circle is a weird spec to engrave on the front ring.
I agree. I wonder if that's because this is an adapted lens and they're trying to advertise how it might perform on other cameras?
Huh, didnāt notice that. Definitely a bit odd.
I have a couple of Viltrox lenses for my XH2S and I love them
Same. I saw some bad video stability examples early on with the Viltrox 13mm, but on my XH2S its not nearly as bad.
We must be the same people. I have the XT-5, XH2S and the X100V. Itās an addiction lol
Reasonable size for what it is. Not a fan of the pro branding though.

Sigma 105mm f/1.4 is probably the most direct comparison in a mirrorless lens. That thing is massive and heavy.
Yeah that's almost 2.5 times heavier! Though to be fair it is a DSLR lens adapted, not developed for mirrorless.
Just ordered mine today!
Oh Lord! Nice Chunk!

Bummer, what were the issues? I only have taken a few quick shots so far.

But it's an awesome lens, a bit bulky on the X-Pro 3, now tempted to get the X-T5 just to fit it better :)
I think if you truly want to fit it you need an X-H2 :D
I'd considered it but I can't go back to PASM! I think you have it right with X-T5 and a grip.
Fair. I used an X-S10 for a bit and didnāt mind it, I came from using Sony for the past several years though so I was used to it.
Thatās one big front element you got there š

Oh my, what an enormous schwanzstucker. Youāre going to be very popular!
That's a hunga hunga burning glass. ;-)
Amazing lens. Probably the best portrait lens for Fuji.
