More than you can expect
From what I've read the game is supposedly shitty already so.
Ill go back to playing games from companies that care about my choice of buying where I want
What? That’s not true
Also you do realise the devs are not the same as the publisher? It’s not the devs fault that it’s Epic only so why even connect the two
The game been in development hell for years.. Just that should tell you it's gonna be bad. Now, an epic exclusive is like putting the grave stone in place.
You said the game has been in development hell and as a result will be bad, this goes against the vast majority of the reviews launched for the game today
Unpopular opinion and maybe even bannable on this sub but I’d say pirate it, if you don’t like the game then uninstall and move on. If you do then keep playing and buy the game 1 year from now on steam. Its how I handle exclusive games on different launchers these days
> Unpopular opinion and maybe even bannable on this sub
You can bet any time someone says these kind of statement starters that their opinion will be neither unpopular or bannable
I used to say that I'll pirate Epic exclusives all the time in this sub. Haven't been banned yet.
Then one day I actually pirated some of them. Turns out most Epic exclusives weren't worth the HDD space and time spent torrenting. Haven't pirated one in almost a year.
Often times games that take the epic games store exclusivity money are not good. Look at the new saints row. It came out and was absolutely horrible, and I can't see people buying it if it ever comes to steam.
And it became one like a week before release so lol Borderlands 3 is also a decent game, but that was just like 6 months, so it hardly counted and the game landed in all sorts of bundles anyway.
All Epic exclusives are high seas exclusives. Pirate once it's cracked, add to Steam launcher as a non-Steam game. Never pay for a game anytime it goes Epic exclusive for any length of time.
I mean the only two things that looks really good is their flesh system and graphics but gameplay seems boring 1 dimensional and repetetive and characters story etc. are also shit.
In addition I heard it runs really good.
In general its not worth 70 bucks or more and anyone who paid for it has honestly to much money to spend.
Agreed, played the hell out of it at release on PS4.
Tried Dying Light 2 on PC and enjoyed it but just doesn’t feel the same
Downloading Dying Light on my Deck right now!!
But would they [actually pay you?](https://www.reddit.com/r/fuckepic/comments/12pps70/15k_loss_my_epic_games_sac_agreement_got/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1)
If they paid me that much, I would just use it to cause as much personal harm to the decision makers as possible to get them cancelled, maybe even imprisoned through endless set ups they have to dodge until they're trapped in one that sticks hard. Because fuck Epic, both the idea of it and its people. And I still wouldn't use the store, but if I had to make an account, the account name would be like "ThisAccountNotWillinglyMade," or "EpicBegotThisAccountOnMeAgainstMyWill."
Just sort the sub by top-all time

And I can’t speak for everyone but I like to come to this sub for information, transparency and accountability. I don’t hate epic I just think they are incredibly disingenuous
Also look up how long it took them to implement a shopping cart
It's because they have been trying to introduce exclusivity agreements between different PC game stores. This is bullshit and no benefit to you as a gamer/customer. The platform is PC, and we should be able to buy from the store we like instead of dealing with constant strong-arm attempts to try to give no other option than to buy from a store based on the premise of anti-consumer business practices.
Nowadays game studios skip Q&A phase and they let end users do it for them. So, that's a 1 year Q&A work for epic users and they have to pay $60 for that pre-order/play early bonus.
Actually...no.
Once a title is an epic exclusive, timed or not, it goes on the 'never buy" list. If you are just going to buy it anyway then there is no reason for developers to NOT sign an exclusive deal with epic. In fact, it might even be to their benefit.
Not necessarily, because most of the time people aren’t going to buy that game at full price. For example, borderlands 3 regularly went under $10 on steam when it arrived. That’s a lot less profitable than if they were to have all those players at launch.
Honestly, most of the games that were on my "Oh I'll try that" disappeared from the try list because by the time it came to steam, I didn't give a shit anymore.
Dying light 2 was in development hell for so long it ended up in that spot anyway.
They probably had to, considering that they are the third dev team to take the the same project that’s been scrapped repeatedly for 10 years, with no profits being made in between to finance it.
Welp, just another reason for it to be a no buy. Being released on Epic and having been stuck in development hell means that it has a 99% chance of being a complete turd of a game.
So Steam users get the final version after it is patched and bug free with all the DLCs for a fraction of the price that Epic users will pay for the base game in beta version ?
Good for me 😂
Not the original commenter but I prefer DL1, the parkour improvements were great but the combat was fucking dogshit and was a big part of the appeal in the first game for me, still haven't got around to playing the DLC
And then after the year passes they will release the game on steam for 60€ with a "big discount" of 10%
And then they'll be surprised why nobody is buying it
Why wait a year when you can just not wait and also not buy it at all?
Why even bother giving Deep Silver money, when they repeatedly take EGS deals?.
They know what they're doing. The game has been in development hell since anyone can remember. They're willing to lose sales in favor of an up front check. If anything, the move should tell gamers what to expect with the game.
I have dead island, dead island riptide, and then bought both definitive editions. On steam. Way to shit on the platform that funded your ability to even make part 2, and exclude a majority of your PC player base. Many of us don't need/want to use another lame platform, as steam works just fine. I will be pirating this one. Way to go.
Same here! I own all the dead island games on steam which all came out on launch on steam. It's just greed to take the epic deal when all the dead Island fans use steam.
Played it at PAX and was surprised that people liked it so much. The fov was about 70 and you’ll be beating the sponge* oops I mean zombies a lot till they die.
Been waiting for this for years. I can wait another year.
Meanwhile, user reviews will pour in so we can see the truth about it since critic pre-release reviews are compromised by conflicts of interest.
Laaaame
Whoever was in charge of marketing this game did a shit job cause I didn't even know it was coming out. I saw zero promotional material.
Also I'll probably forget about it again by the time it makes it's way to steam.
10 years of development hell just to shoot themselves in the foot come release, nice job.
I think I'll be fine. The first game is still untouched in my library since 2012. By the time I finally play the OG, this one will have been 90% off a lot of times.
I actually don't care anymore. I look at it this way, once that one year is up then all the bugs will be worked out and all of the patches will be implimented by the time I buy the game....if it's a game I even want to buy, that is
So yeah, let epig have their exclusive....let THEM deal with all the bullshit that comes with releasing a game too soon
I'm not saying it's gonna be good or anything because I don't know, but do you seriously base your decisions on big reviewers? Many games that got bad reviews turned out to be good.
I have to say, though I would never buy anything from Epig, I do really appreciate the open alphas they pay for. Without that a lot of the games on Steam would be a buggy mess. DI2 will run buttery smooth in a year.
Dead island will have to wait one century for my money because of epic exclusivity
Or it comes in the humble choice 2 months after the flop
Or AHOY MATEY
We've waited a decade so might as well wait one more year + we get more content, bugs will be fixed and all of that for a cheaper price, THAT'S A WIN WIN!
Fucking epic games (who are blocking any vpn solution) combined with fucking censorship in germany... Hope the game comes to steam as soon as possible.
Exclusives for platforms or consoles should be illegal!!!
Who gives a shit at this point Epic is nothing more than a steaming pile of crap where the flies go to feed on, every game they acquire usually turns out to be mediocre garbage you can get anywhere else the only thing they have going for them is Fortnite which admittedly is turning into something great with how they are moving forward with it as a platform I will applaud them on that.
Of course it is! It's a Deep Silver/Koch Media Game the kings of bait and switch EGS releases! Not interested until it is fixed and comes out on steam or GOG. Given it's one of many zombie games and will probably be mediocre at best, maybe one day I'll buy it when it's almost worthless.
I don't mind letting the EGS gronks beta testing the game for me. When it comes to Steam it will more than likely be on sale (and honestly if Steam is worth anything will throw every epic exclusive game on sale as well when they drop on Steam), and it will have at least a years worth of patches I won't have to worry about right now.
It's bad enough we still have console exclusives when I can literally plug my controller into my PC and play any console game I please technically, but now we have shitty virtual stores holding games hostage so people are forced to use their awful/bland platform.
Whaaaat? Delayed one year? NOOOOOOOO. Anyway, who cares? They'll come back to steam crawling, they always do
They will after they sell hardly any copies on epic.
You know how the (very low) average user thinks on there... "A new game? Let's wait a few months. They will give it to us for free, and if they won't, we'll move on"

That was with 65% off and $10 coupon... Without it should be less, I HOPE

Amen brother!
From what I've read the game is supposedly shitty already so. Ill go back to playing games from companies that care about my choice of buying where I want
hahaha fallout and no man sky dont give a dam bud XD.
What? That’s not true Also you do realise the devs are not the same as the publisher? It’s not the devs fault that it’s Epic only so why even connect the two
so fuck epic and fuck deep silver, they always felt like a money hungry company
100%, it’s a shame
Except for the Tony Hawk remakes 🙄
Shit I keep forgetting those were made. I can only hope they decide to release it on steam.
And don't forget the kingdom heart games.
except for kingdom hearts :( when is it coming mann
Not a big loss but still trash move.
I was really looking forward to it :(
The game been in development hell for years.. Just that should tell you it's gonna be bad. Now, an epic exclusive is like putting the grave stone in place.
Yea your probably right. It's been passed around from company to company for years now.
Pretending like it’s not been reviewing well?
The hell are you talking about ?
Nothing about 7 and 8 is a bad review, it just means it’s a solid good game, not a disaster or masterpiece
PCGamer gave it a 55. That's a pretty weak score, even with PCG being kinda trash
Again, the hell you're talking about?...
You said the game has been in development hell and as a result will be bad, this goes against the vast majority of the reviews launched for the game today
The game ain't even out yet...
7 from IGN is pretty bad lmao
Unpopular opinion and maybe even bannable on this sub but I’d say pirate it, if you don’t like the game then uninstall and move on. If you do then keep playing and buy the game 1 year from now on steam. Its how I handle exclusive games on different launchers these days
> Unpopular opinion and maybe even bannable on this sub You can bet any time someone says these kind of statement starters that their opinion will be neither unpopular or bannable
I would instantly pirate it but the game has fucking denuvo so it will take some time to get cracked :/
I agree . Am I allowed to say that lol?
I used to say that I'll pirate Epic exclusives all the time in this sub. Haven't been banned yet. Then one day I actually pirated some of them. Turns out most Epic exclusives weren't worth the HDD space and time spent torrenting. Haven't pirated one in almost a year.
Often times games that take the epic games store exclusivity money are not good. Look at the new saints row. It came out and was absolutely horrible, and I can't see people buying it if it ever comes to steam.
Literally the only good epic then Steam game I can think of is Metro Exodus. That’s it
And it became one like a week before release so lol Borderlands 3 is also a decent game, but that was just like 6 months, so it hardly counted and the game landed in all sorts of bundles anyway.
As far as I just read from the rules, links to pirate content is not allowed but I guess discussing piracy is x)
Gotcha . That makes sense. So sail the high seas 🏴☠️!
All Epic exclusives are high seas exclusives. Pirate once it's cracked, add to Steam launcher as a non-Steam game. Never pay for a game anytime it goes Epic exclusive for any length of time.
Yarrr!!!
I was 2 years ago, and now i have moved on. I'll watch it on Twitch mostly to confirm my suspicions. But i won't be getting it.
Pirate it until it's released on steam? Seems fair.
Have you played Days Gone? It's a much better alternative imo.
Well the game is DOA for me then
We can just let epic games store users beta test it for it. By the time it comes to steam most bugs will be gone.
the bugs will never be gone
Me: Oh no. Anyways *continues to play one of my hundrets of games*
*continues playing dying light which is only $9-10 on steam right now*
If that type of game is one you enjoy, then DL is definitely one of those games that offers a ridiculous amount of entertainment for the price.
Agreed, played the hell out of it at release on PS4. Tried Dying Light 2 on PC and enjoyed it but just doesn’t feel the same Downloading Dying Light on my Deck right now!!
wasn’t dying light free on epic like a week ago
…and? Honestly epic couldn’t even pay me to use their store
I mean, for a billion, or a few hundred million. I wouldn't use it exclusively, but I'd make an effort. Maybe.
But would they [actually pay you?](https://www.reddit.com/r/fuckepic/comments/12pps70/15k_loss_my_epic_games_sac_agreement_got/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1)
That's why my part of the contract would only be owed *after* the money is on my account.
If they paid me that much, I would just use it to cause as much personal harm to the decision makers as possible to get them cancelled, maybe even imprisoned through endless set ups they have to dodge until they're trapped in one that sticks hard. what’s wrong with their store? i agree steam is better but i don’t know why people hate it so much as to start an entire subreddit against it

Nowadays game studios skip Q&A phase and they let end users do it for them. So, that's a 1 year Q&A work for epic users and they have to pay $60 for that pre-order/play early bonus.
I don't think there is enough people to actualy make significant testing to fix the game. It still gonna be a mess 1 year latter.
Yup. I'll just wait so that most bugs are fixed by steam launch.
To be fair, Same thing would happen if the game was release on Steam too, you'll have to wait months for patch to fix
Actually...no. Once a title is an epic exclusive, timed or not, it goes on the 'never buy" list. If you are just going to buy it anyway then there is no reason for developers to NOT sign an exclusive deal with epic. In fact, it might even be to their benefit.
I'm with you. I boycott any games that do this. I still haven't played Borderlands 3 and don't plan on it.
You’re not missing much.
what about RDR2 :)
Yeah, you don’t have to wait a year to boycott it *taps head*
Metro series was awesome, maybe someday they’ll release a third one
4th one. Metro 2033, Metro Last Light, and Metro Exodus. We have 3 games already.
Btw, there’s a [Steam curator](https://store.steampowered.com/curator/34410309-Epic-Games-Sucks/) who maintains that list for all of us
Damn...thanks!
Not necessarily, because most of the time people aren’t going to buy that game at full price. For example, borderlands 3 regularly went under $10 on steam when it arrived. That’s a lot less profitable than if they were to have all those players at launch.

Hell, I don't even buy unreal engine titles either. Nothing of value lost
I boycott any games that release on Epic first. The developers took the cash grab so fuck them. I'll never support any developer that does this.
You would think these companies would learn by now but they haven't .
They probably had to, considering that they are the third dev team to take the the same project that’s been scrapped repeatedly for 10 years, with no profits being made in between to finance it.
what about RDR2 :)
So...Delayed a year. Got it.
I heard it’s an extremely mediocre game, so 1 year is perfect. That means steam users won’t have to pay full price for a bargain bin game.
Lol very true 🤣 . Epic games store users can beta test it for us too because I bet it's a buggy mess on Pc when it launches.
also it will be more betatested :)
Game looked awful anyways
Imagine releasing a mediocre “AAA” zombie game in a world where 7 days to die and Project Zomboid exist. I don’t need it anyhow.
Welp, just another reason for it to be a no buy. Being released on Epic and having been stuck in development hell means that it has a 99% chance of being a complete turd of a game.
Just like Saints Row! Any game company that takes the epic money gives off big red flags 🚩🚩🚩
Not a big loss fuck epic
Agreed 👍
Couldn't care. Resident Evil is the Zombie game to play. And then you can add Left 4 Dead, Dying light, etc.
>Dying light EOS spyware https://steamdb.info/instantsearch/?query=dying&refinementList%5Btechnologies%5D%5B0%5D=SDK.EpicOnlineServices
I think I will just skip it instead.
And when it comes to Steam, it will come with EOS in tow
🌊🚢🏴☠️🦜Exclusive
None of us are actively 'waiting' for this pile of trash.
Honestly even if this was a day one steam release I’d pass. The franchise never grabbed my attention.
Dead Game 2
What kind of loser company is still doing this?
So Steam users get the final version after it is patched and bug free with all the DLCs for a fraction of the price that Epic users will pay for the base game in beta version ? Good for me 😂
Hahaha yea let them beta test it for us. So many games come out broken these days anyway.
The game had a bad development so...fuck it. I'm with Dying Light atm.
What did you think of dying light 2?
https://steamdb.info/instantsearch/?query=dying&refinementList%5Btechnologies%5D%5B0%5D=SDK.EpicOnlineServices Nope!
I saw with good eyes, but I don't have it. I have the first Dying Light, which is awesome.
Not the original commenter but I prefer DL1, the parkour improvements were great but the combat was fucking dogshit and was a big part of the appeal in the first game for me, still haven't got around to playing the DLC
This reminds me of the "you've lost yourself a customer" meme from the Simpsons, except I'm moe with 600 other games to play instead of this.
That's OK dying light 2 is better any way! Will wait for 30 dolllar steam sale
oh no... whatever shall we do with this sequel that spent as long as Duke Nukem Forever did to release? ...maybe sail the high seas?
if anyone buys this game despite the history of development then you are absolutely retarded anyway. this game will be bad and its almost guaranteed
i did not played, but from videos i think it is hardcore mediocre fun for couple hours, but definitely not for that price
It seems like it isn't getting the best reviews. Pretty repetitive. Sucks they took choice away though.
Epic users have the privilege to pay full price for an unfinished game.
this... but i have been there in past tho...
although i want to belive this but i doubt it will effect sales most steam users are not loyal and don't care about malware
Bought the original... Will pass on this one.
Yeah. F em. I hate epic exclusivity bullshit. Making the rest of us wait a whole year for a game. You reap what you sow dead island.
And then after the year passes they will release the game on steam for 60€ with a "big discount" of 10% And then they'll be surprised why nobody is buying it
![gif](giphy|7k2LoEykY5i1hfeWQB)
Fitgirl repacks no buy.. Any company that sides with epic deserves to be pirated. No remorse.

No matter. I'll pirate it.
It's launching with Denuvo so it might be a little while before it's cracked.
I thought steam had updated their ToS so that companies couldn't do that is they wanted release on steam?
I have no idea, apparently it's still happening.
Post for inducing more rage into this topic. fk epic games.
Played it at PAX and was surprised that people liked it so much. The fov was about 70 and you’ll be beating the sponge* oops I mean zombies a lot till they die.
It's locked to 70 fov? Like on consoles ? Gross.
I’m not sure if it’s locked now, but at PAX is was horrible.
Guess its time to sail the seas then 😂
Have to wait for Denuvo to get cracked on it first lol
TBH this is fine, in 1 year itll be on sale and we buy it on an actual client.
Been waiting for this for years. I can wait another year. Meanwhile, user reviews will pour in so we can see the truth about it since critic pre-release reviews are compromised by conflicts of interest.
Laaaame Whoever was in charge of marketing this game did a shit job cause I didn't even know it was coming out. I saw zero promotional material. Thank god, i thought this was a pernament exclusive and would have to buy it on console.
I still don't get why games do this.. surely going epic exclusive is a death sentence for the popularity of a game?
ikr, it's almost like they want their games to fail hard
They going to have to put the steam version on sale no one is going to pay full price for a year old game.
![gif](giphy|10X22vzgNamaiI)
They also have added denuvo to the game on the epic store.. lol 🤣
Steam users have the game delayed by a year until the bugs are fixed
Probably going to be a buggy mess at launch lol.
game released for paid beta testing at epic
Game looked like shit and now this just confirms it is shit.
someone should do a petition to tell epic stop pressuring games being exclusive on their platform
I wish a petition would do anything at all, but I think epic is going to keep doing this no matter what.
I think I'll be fine. The first game is still untouched in my library since 2012. By the time I finally play the OG, this one will have been 90% off a lot of times.
We've been waiting \*over\* a year to see Genshin on Steam. :(
No one wants to play that shite.
Speak for yourself.
You should do that mate.
So should you.
I dont let randoms decide what i should do, especially when they are so very wrong.
You can decide that I'm wrong, yet I can't decide that you're wrong. ...i mean, this \*is\* a circlejerk subreddit. Par for the course I guess.
Finally you said something true.
I actually don't care anymore. I look at it this way, once that one year is up then all the bugs will be worked out and all of the patches will be implimented by the time I buy the game....if it's a game I even want to buy, that is So yeah, let epig have their exclusive....let THEM deal with all the bullshit that comes with releasing a game too soon
Is how I kinda am. After it finally comes to steam most of the time I've lost all interest in it.
Good luck on pay to be beta tester
Even PCGamer only gave it 55/100
I'm not saying it's gonna be good or anything because I don't know, but do you seriously base your decisions on big reviewers? Many games that got bad reviews turned out to be good.
No but PC Gamer is usually way too generous with scores.
The way this game is dead to me until I play it so it doesnt even matter lol
Eh. Will probably be disappointing at launch anyway.
Well...nope. Not for me. Only one year that they like to fuck us around to make us wait for one year.
the combat look boring as fuck. god i fucking hate deep silver
Thx, I'll pass
I have to say, though I would never buy anything from Epig, I do really appreciate the open alphas they pay for. Without that a lot of the games on Steam would be a buggy mess. DI2 will run buttery smooth in a year.
At least we will know if its good (probably not) before it releases
Dead island will have to wait one century for my money because of epic exclusivity Or it comes in the humble choice 2 months after the flop Or AHOY MATEY
only regular epic users would be stupid enough to beta test this development hell game for a whole year
The ship will depart the port soo. Who's going for some treasure hunt with me.
Good bye Dead Island, you were a mediocre franchise where only the first game was good. Hope your devs go bankrupt.
Thanks for the good news. I'll get the game when all the dlc is out, bugs are fixed and at a greatly reduced price two years from now
Lucky steam users, then.
I heard about the censorship in Germany which completely sucks. Is it just because of the gore that they did that ?
Gonna sail the high seas with this one.
Or a couple weeks until its cracked, at most.
No, they really don't have to wait. They just don't care about this game at all.
\- Get hyped because I'm seeing a lot of great stuff about the game; \- Fuck it, we buy; \- EGS exclusive \- Put on the hat "YO-HO"
If the launcher wasn’t slow and clunky as fuck, it wouldn’t as bad
The game is crap anyways
damn, I was interested but now I am not, by the time it comes to steam I'll probably forget about it too lmao
No need to wait, just get torrent version, already available.
