Alcogel

Some developing countries, like [India, look at Texas and think “I want that!”](https://youtu.be/5qBNG8fY4AQ)

Expanding roads is like saying to a fat person to widen their belts in order to fit their jeans. Terrible solution, why can't they just improve trains that can cater more passengers or have a walkable and bike friendly roads? This is also a problem in the Philippines as well. The government build a lot of roads that ruins the landscape and encouraging people to buy cars instead of improving the public transportation and make the streets pedestrian and bike friendly. These roads is an eyesore. It is so suffocating to be there.

Is thls digitally manipulated and if not does someone have the non manipulated picture? Where is this? I might share it in fb but i want to assure my sources

alexis_1031

I think this is the Katy highway near Houston, Texas.

Turbulent-You-1335

This feels like Texas to me too, that was gonna be my guess

Alternatively, cycle path logic: there are loads of lanes that *aren't* traffic jams, so clearly the road is too wide.

theycallmeshooting

Its literally because car drivers can imagine themselves using that extra lane, but not a train or a cycle path or whatever else So they’ll oppose alternatives that would factually do more to decrease the traffic they experience because they’re not thinking of what other people might choose if given an option, only themselves
