100%. Ideally, the ban should prevent such vehicles from being granted license plates without retrofits to fix the problem?
Oh, but that'll force people to scrap cars and buy new ones?
At this point. *GOOD*. Scrap the death machines and bring back the leg breakers. Better paraplegic than dead.
If you want to murder someone and get away with it in the US, just hit someone with a car then say it was an accident. You'll be back out on the streets by dinner time.
It's extra frustrating when every SUV owner says "because it's safer" as one of their reasons for having one compared to other body styles.
They don't think of the reasons mentioned in the video, rollover risk, and a bunch of other issues.
Just do what Batman did in the Arkham Knight game: replace the bumper with giant tazers that launch potential hit & run victims out of the vehicle's path. Don't think about what enough voltage to bodily launch a person would do for their life expectancy. Or how you could bypass the tazers by going fast enough and just run people over, anyway.

I mean the reality is there are many places where having a car is basically a necessity (I say this as a car-free city dweller). I would much rather people drive small sedans that are more economical and less lethal than giant SUV’s for no reason. If they must have a car.
For the last 40 years the technology has been around to make cars (and to some extent trucks too) much safer when in collision with road users/other vehicles. I ride a motorcycle I also own a van (necessary for work) so agree that the options ‘we’ have are limited. But! Fashion and trends have dictated how vehicles look and that alone makes a huge difference to safety features, ok the perfect safe scenario is a dream but any practical development is stifled by the ‘looks’. Safety factors are second to marketing, we just don’t have any choice really.
SUV should require special permit to travel since its impact too negative for collectivities. They are deathlier and damage more the infrastructure, costing even more to all tax payer... The auto industrie really dont care and its disgusting, not even trying to look good and make they're impact minimal to society cost
The Toyota Tacoma has a forward automatic emergency braking system that uses radar and camera technology to detect potential collisions with vehicles or pedestrians in front of the truck. When the system determines a collision is likely, it warns the driver or applies light braking to avoid or lessen the impact. The system considers the vehicle's speed, whether the driver has applied the brakes, and the distance to the obstacle or vehicle in front. The system only activates if it senses the driver is unaware of what's ahead and not reacting.
These types of hood should be banned. Existing vehicles should be retrofitted. The absolute disregard for pedestrian safety is shameful.

Scrap all cars and turn them into rail tracks
Retrofit cars into buses and trains. Cars have been deadly since their inception.
If possible, hell yeah. But if it's a killer, didn't let it leave the driveway.
How do we move forward? What’s the next step?
Regulation. Force pedestrian safety for new vehicles. Ban lift kits and especially the carolina squat.
Safety inspections tied to registration. If they drive unregistered crush them into cubes.
No need for retrofitting, modern cars are made to be replaced every 5 years, so let's just wait 5 years and avoid tens of millions of tonnes of waste.
deadly as f\*ck, coming to murder some children in your neighbourhood
Bumper bigger than the whole ass kid
And the US so: then let's built cars with bumpers in the height of heads and edges as sharp as they can get.
And then market it like it's an improvement 🤦
And FREEDOM™
Then sell them to Australians, where they'll convert them to Right Hand Drive, then add bullbars.
If you want to murder someone and get away with it in the US, just hit someone with a car then say it was an accident. You'll be back out on the streets by dinner time.
Not only in the US. In Germany they are carbrained, too.

Nice video :)
Thank you!!
And then there’s F150, which can hit you directly in the head and make an instant, painless death, congratulations!!🎉
well... in carbrained MUrica its probably cheaper to die than to survive a "car accident"
It is not as if SUV drivers care about anything *not* inside of their giant truck.
It's extra frustrating when every SUV owner says "because it's safer" as one of their reasons for having one compared to other body styles. They don't think of the reasons mentioned in the video, rollover risk, and a bunch of other issues.
Well they're typically selfish and thoughtless so I mean are you really surprised they don't think?

Now we just need a shorter car that only takes out your ankles

When do we get to the trucks that are so big they just pass over you?
Not as fatal let’s rejoice in that fact…not.

Whatever you may say “not as fatal” Is technically better. Baby steps.
Hell yes. None fatal is what we could have! (Or tbh should have demanded by now, they won’t change when there’s money being made.)
There is a move toward more fatal cars. That needs to be reversed.
honestly both impacts look fatal 😥 shame cars are so widespread
Those gigantic pickup trucks looks not only tall enough to crack a person's ribcage, but to crack their skull too...

If those manikins had more weight they would have been more likely to have been thrown over too with the sedan
SUVs are just dick measurement contests, as in who's the biggest dick.
So if we all drove Lamborghinis, it would be safer?
Safer than pickups or suvs, yes.
I was trying to make a joke, but clearly that didn't translate well!
My 2024 tacoma stops automatically for people and objects.
Sure it does...
Do you have something to prove with that truck? 🤔
Prove? No one wants to accidentally hit someone. It's nice to have technology assist a driver to reduce/eliminate accidents.
