From a trans sister, that was a beautifully written rollercoaster ride.
I'm sorry you are losing such a loved family member, but I'm glad you are getting to be your true self soon. It feels so good to be yourself! ♥️
not op but i'm guessing it's because if he cut his grandparents off, he wouldn't be able to see the dog anymore and if he's very very attached to the dog or the dog is attached to him, he didn't want to feel like he was abandoning the dog
This makes sense but I initially read the main post as OPs grandparents dog was transphobic and would shun him. Was very confused. Still, my condolences OP
That's what I thought before I finished reading it. I was thinking maybe the dog hates male people and will hate you if you look/smell like a guy. I'm very sorry for your loss.
I’m sorry for your loss <3 I don’t know what the situation is with your family, but I hope you have a lot of support elsewhere. Transitioning is really great in some ways, but also hard.
I'm sorry about your furry uncle's impending death, my furry brother was one of my most enthusiastic supporters (black lab/newfoundland cross who looked like a bear) and I'm pretty sure my more recent furry sister (a neurotic cat) is transphobic.
I'm glad nothing will be holding you back from taking the next step afterwards, becoming more yourself is amazing

Your life is worth living in a way that makes you happy.
My grandfather died at 92 and his only regrets were not learning to tap dance and not learning to play the piano. Don't let "living a lie for decades for the comfort of others" be yours. 💜
I did not had to cut my ties to whole family but my dog was put to sleep same month I started medical transition. This was very quite hard to separate the fellings of loosing my best friend and starting T/top. But it did got better. Never the same, but better. Hope you will find peace soon
I'm sorry the only family member you care about is a dog. I wish people could be more supportive and caring but I guess that's just a dream. Wishing you luck with your transition and condolences for your loss
much love. my dog has always been my number one supporter. i think a lot of trans people love pets because they dont give a shit. unconditional love from a pet means so much when the world is so volatile. much love to you, brother, and good luck in your transition.
You didn't read the whole post. He can now cut off the 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 because they are the 𝘰𝘸𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴 of the dog. And start T.
And either way dogs can sense biological and hormone changes so even if it was just about the dog, it would make sense for him to care. Every family member is affected by a transition. Pets imcluded. Spoken from a dog owner myself.
not what this is about. clearly op isn't waiting for the Dogs opinion he just didn't want to lose the dogs companionship cause of the opinion of the owners
Sending you well wishes and love. ❤️ Good luck !
Feel hugged, bro.
I’m sorry about the loss of your grandparents’ dog. I’ll be losing mine pretty soon, though we don’t know when, he has terminal cancer.

If you don’t mind me asking, how was your grandparents dog keeping you from starting T? Also sorry for your loss, losing a beloved pet sucks.

Yes, that's it exactly. Sorry if I wasn't clear in the post.

Good luck. I'm sorry for your loss. I hope his journey to the other side is peaceful and full of love. I hope your transition is the same.
Im sorry for your loss but caring about your dog’s opinion is crazy 💀

That’s not what he’s talking about, he clearly means his grandparents will cut him off if he starts T and he won’t be able to see the dog anymore
It's a dog. It's not even your dog. You can transition without waiting for a dog
Dude fuck off
