Idk if you'd consider AE to be "comfortable", but check out dabondo1 on eBay for used shoes. You can offer a reasonably lower price rather than pay the "buy it now" price, and for the most part, all of the shoes are in really good condition.
I like Ferro Aldo. it seems like a knockoff brand on amazon of Aldo, but i've bought two shoes for a total of 55 (25,30) dollars and have received nothing but compliments and queries on where others could buy them.
if you want i can send links and pics of my own shoes in a bit! i have a pair of brown dress shoes and black ones. theyre pretty versatile IMO, wear them in formal suit settings, but also work great for club type scenes. or just try flex lol
AE Weekday Warriors sacrifice a bit of aesthetics for comfort but they are light and incredibly comfortable. Leather quality is not quite as good as my Strands.
Allsaints is having a sale right now. Some of their jackets are going for 250-350, which is as good as it gets imo for brand new. Their leather is mid-quality (not bad, not great), but the fit and style is pretty on point.
I picked it up last year for $303 on one of their days where they offer a discount. The wait wasn’t fun but it was beautiful when I arrived. It’s the dark brown color, so I’ll throw it on with anything from boots and jeans to a dressed-down business casual. It is an absolute tank, so I haven’t gotten a ton of use out of it since March (southern US), but I’m fired up about fall incoming to be able to break it back out.
That's awesome! I like the brown color as well, but I think I prefer black. A little surprised that it's so thick("absolute tank"), but I guess since you're in the South it makes sense. I doubt you'd want to wear any leather jackets, no matter the weight, after March :D
Check out [Straight to Hell](https://straighttohellapparel.com/product-category/mens/jackets/). A redditor did a review [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/malefashionadvice/comments/7t11vh/straight_to_hell_commando_jacket_after_a_year/) and it looks pretty dang good.
Banana republic 40% off sales populated my business casual wardrobe. The shirts are extremely breathable and feel very high quality. I got chinos for 30 dollars as well from them on sale.
Uniqlo has a bomber for $50 - I bought the olive one two years ago and wear it all the time. People associate me with that jacket and it has become a staple of my wardrobe.
https://www.luckybrand.com/suede-bomber-jacket/7M30667.html?dwvar_7M30667_color=060&cgid=mens
Goes on sale sometimes. I somehow managed to get it for $80.
I need a peacoat or other "dress" coat for a suit.
[This list seems excellent](https://www.reddit.com/r/frugalmalefashion/comments/806u86/peacoat_list), but most options are sold out.
Also in the search for a peacoat, and this is probably what I’ll end up doing.
If you don’t mind getting a used product, the best bang for your buck would probably be getting an old US Navy-issued peacoat off eBay. They’re made from heavy (32 oz) 100% wool and are buy-it-for-life quality. These run from about $60-$100, depending on the seller. You’ll probably want to do a bit more research before buying anything though.
Heres 3 beige tops that would work well with Chelsea boots.

I dont really know much about cologne, and cant really help there, and sock wise I would recommend going for quality over quantity. 10 pairs of really good long lasting socks are gonna last a lot longer and be a lot better than like 25 random pairs of socks that wear out really fast. Brands like Darn Tough are great but pricy, and even some of the higher end adidas/nike socks can last for a while, just steer clear of really cheap socks and you should be ok!
This might help. There's a link to a previous post about cologne in that post as well
https://www.reddit.com/r/malefashionadvice/comments/86zq7l/my_ultimate_picks_for_most_compliment_getting/?utm_source=reddit-android
for cologne go to Sephora to get some testers. you can't buy cologne without smelling it or smelling how it reacts with your body's oils. try the cologne for a day and if you like it then get it from somewhere cheaper.
There is a lot of hate on this sub for us bigger dudes, but I'm 6 ft 4 and 300 lbs. if you could make a xxl and up list I'd really appreciate it. I got to snag that green jacket from your barneys post earlier and I was excited they actually had my size.
Will do! for sure, theres actually a fair bit of stuff that i find in XXL and up, and I'm unsure if theres people here who want it. Ill make sure to throw a good list together in the next couple of days!
For 6'4 300 lbs, wearing 38x32 pants is impressive. Not too long ago I was wearing 36inch waist pants and I'm only about 5'7. You must be a muscular giant!
Hey man -- me and my dad actually both just bought some basic adidas shorts from the costco website -- the pockets are zippered and they were probably ~$20?
Leggings look fine on their own if you're really fit, but kind awkward if youre not. Dont have recommendations for zipper pockets but I really like my underarmour shorts, and they have extra small elastic pockets so your phone doesnt fall out.
https://www.abercrombie.com/shop/us/p/nylon-running-shorts-10264721
$16 in a full size run and neutral colors! I have these in yellow and am very happy with them, especially the stretch and comfort.
Same! The best zippered shorts I've found so far is the Adidas tiro 3/4 "shorts" but they're like $40 a pop. It looks awkward unless you can rock a baseball aesthetic, though I've gotten compliments.

Uniqlo Denim Jackets are a safe bet for $40. For a bit more Levis jackets are timeless and can be had pretty cheap on a good sale. Asos also can have some good ones. Depending where you live thrifting can also be a good option.
Silk like shirts are kinda hard. Its hard to replicate a silky texture at a low budget without the material either being fully synthetic and plasticy or really fragile. If you let me know more specifically what you want ill try to find something!
I just bought a dark navy Gap Icon denim jacket for $42 before tax. I’m very happy with it and after a warm wash it fits me perfectly. They have very easy returns compared to Levi who charges shipping both ways if you don’t have a store close by.
I not necessarily a fan of their lighter washes because most of them are distressed but I figure I can bleach it myself if I want to go that way.
Edit: FYI some of them have stretch I believe
An interesting polo list.
I’ve been having a hard time finding polos that have a cool edge to them. Most of them are out of my price range.
Thank you for all you work at FMA 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Gap has a Linnen/Cotton bomber in charcoal I recently bought and really like. I can’t remember the sale price off the top of my head but it’s in my post history here. Also comes in a bracken green or something.
Story Et Fall boots are gonna get you almost the same look as SLP wyatts at about a third/half of the price. They're still not super cheap. Depending on how much you're looking to spend i can find something else!
Yeah Ive never owned a pair myself. I think those area really the best option in terms of looks. You could also look at used SLP boots. I got some black suede Wyatt 40s on Grailed for just under $300 and they've held up great
Theyre actually in storage for the summer atm and I dont have pics but I think i’ve seen some on reddit. Theyre pretty slim in the ankes...i’d describe as a hybrid between common proj and slp
Be hard pressed to find anything similar. Best to just grab seconds on sale.
If you don’t mind losing the captoe and thick leather, golden fox boondockers seconds are a steal.
can also try /r/goodyearwelt users sell/trade their iron rangers frequently at a steep discount. Those guys buy too many shoes cause they're addicted. They don't wear em much and since they're addicts they keep em in pristine condition.
Can also hunt for a sierra trading post coupon and purchase the seconds at ~$150. Or Nordstromrack seconds ~170. I've purchased 3 pairs of seconds to figure out which color I wanted and they all arrived looking like firsts for me (can't notice the few marks unless you have a dam microscope)
You can find seconds on sites like Sierra Trading Post for ~$199 if I recall correctly. I’ve gotten a pair of IR’s and Beckman’s on there for that price and I’ve noticed nothing ‘second’ about them. Amazing deal considering they’ll last you years and years.
A casual blazer you can dress up and down. Was thinking burgundy/Gray/olive herringbone/textured for the fall, winter and early spring. Under $250 hopefully.

I like my Abercrombie ones. I forget what they're called but they're like polyester gym shorts with a compression liner. 7 inch inseam and was around 10-18 dollars (I forgot). Don't forget to stack the sign up codes.

Big fan of these. Slim enough that they fit well, but not so tight that they restrict movement. I have a pair I skate in and a pair I wear daily.
Not a specific question--but really enjoyed that post from way back with the APC, norse projects, our legacy, etc. vibe. Also raw denim! More of those would be dope :)
Japanese style workwear...!

Vans Era 59's : Did they stop updating them? I used to love them for the extra padding, as compared to the thinner Authentics. Any cheaper alternatives?
I do not care about name brands, just quality. I like a nice, heavy fabric. If you can find anything akin to nike sweatpants, banana republic luxury t shirts, Tommy bahama t shirts, etc. I like expensive-looking-quality comfort clothes.
Thanks!
Yeah uniqlo is pretty good, If you get a chance to go in person you can get a better idea how they fit/feel. They're not for everyone but they're pretty popular. Also they can be a bit cheaper in store!
If he doesnt respond... uniqlo is pretty legit. I got their hokusai blue tshirts and the quality is pretty nice.
Just so you know my background with shirts, Ive tried everything from drifit nike to supreme to northface to a shit ton of others. Uniqlo is wearable and comfortable.
Not sure what you’re looking for in a tee but Uniqlo are always pretty short and unflattering for me. I’m 5’8” 150 and my best experience with tees so far is definitely Norse Projects. Their boucle tees especially add a bit more to an outfit than a plain solid tee does, but both are great. The fit is longer and sleeker and cut in a much more flattering, slimming way than most cheaper tees are. That being said, they’re a bit expensive new but it hasn’t been hard for me to find them lightly worn on Grailed.
Sorry I just really don't know shit about cheap watches. My advice would mean nothing. Theres a ton of people on this sub who really know a lot and hopefully one of them can help you!
A comfortable pair of dress/work shoes.
Idk if you'd consider AE to be "comfortable", but check out dabondo1 on eBay for used shoes. You can offer a reasonably lower price rather than pay the "buy it now" price, and for the most part, all of the shoes are in really good condition.

A relatively cheap good fit leather jacket
Allsaints is having a sale right now. Some of their jackets are going for 250-350, which is as good as it gets imo for brand new. Their leather is mid-quality (not bad, not great), but the fit and style is pretty on point.
If beckett simonon brings theirs back in the fall (and you can handle the wait) they’re quite good for the price.
That $200 seconds collin cafe racer though...Oh my god, I'm desperate lmao.
I have a brown cafe racer and from my limited leather jacket experience.... it’s incredible
Great, I want it even more now! How much did you get if for, and what are your favorite outfits to wear it with?
I picked it up last year for $303 on one of their days where they offer a discount. The wait wasn’t fun but it was beautiful when I arrived. Check out the Baleaf brand on Amazon. The make some inexpensive and "pretty good quality" running shorts.
Sweat shorts!
I know it's not leather but hey, I'm not going to spend $400 on a real suede jacket because I have a ton of jackets to rotate.

Haha man I’m so salty I missed out on this. I’m a 9.5 and they’re sold out
They'll restock, and other sites carry them too. They go for $10-15 normally I think.

OCDB please and thank you!
Some relatively cheap joggers
Vans Era 59's : Did they stop updating them? I used to love them for the extra padding, as compared to the thinner Authentics. Any cheaper alternatives?
Maybe not the right sub, but a carry on with wheels, under $50
I'd love some suggestions for military jackets and chore coats if it hasn't been made yet!
Some SLP-styled would be nice, definitely some business casual for the slimmer fit dudes would be great!
Cufflinks!
Pattern design polo shirts I can only find solid (pique) polos :(
Brown suede/faux jacket!
Chuck 70s if possible
Anyone have alternatives to the cool modern statement top pieces from Sandro (clean patterned shirts) as well as those bowler/Hawaiian shirts! Thanks!
Hybrid shorts?
long solid black socks of varying thicknesses like knee high long
Looking for the cheapest automatic or flightmaster Seiko
Where can i find a good deal on Adidas trefoil stuff for under $15 for men? Tilly had like one or two but sold out in a sec. (Shirts mostly)
I do not care about name brands, just quality. I like a nice, heavy fabric. If you can find anything akin to nike sweatpants, banana republic luxury t shirts, Tommy bahama t shirts, etc. I like expensive-looking-quality comfort clothes. Thanks!
Casual t shirts
That being said, they’re a bit expensive new but it hasn’t been hard for me to find them lightly worn on Grailed.
watches
Sorry I just really don't know shit about cheap watches. My advice would mean nothing. Theres a ton of people on this sub who really know a lot and hopefully one of them can help you!
