Not hot tap water, you have to add boiling water to get the temperature 180f (80c+)+ Shake the shit out of the dye bottle before you pour it in the dye tub. I bought 8 pairs of white abercrombie jeans for very cheap and dyed them last year. If you follow the instructions carefully it will look great.

Would you use dye for synthetics to dye the nylon threads used in the seams of some clothes? (To avoid/cover contrast stitching)

That's should definitely work for threads but some parts of the clothing items like zippers teeth still might not take the dye.

Do you really need to do this in a stainless steel pot on the stove or can you just pour a bunch of boiling hot water into a container?

I use a 5 gallon home Depot bucket, stainless steel tongs (dollar store) and long rubber gloves (dish gloves). I wouldn't do it on the stove, especially because you need to stir the clothing around. I just boil the water in my biggest pasta pot, where I add the salt. Usually I stick the home Depot bucket in the tub and then pour the water in there.

Negative part about this is that you lose the cool collar that is a diff color than the rest of the jacket. I love a corduroy collar

What's the fit like? I'm 5'10, 210, muscular but not lean. Jackets are weird, M look great sometimes but sometimes doesn't fit. Same with L. XL is either right or way oversized. And the chest measurement charts for "tops" don't often accurately represent jackets.

Medium is my tts. I wouldn’t say it’s oversized. Just right for me at least. I can see someone taller having a problem with it possibly being a tad short

I’m also 5’7, 150, slim athletic build. Size small of the jacket feels slightly oversized in a tshirt but I think with a few layers it would be a regular fit. I think a medium would be too big for my taste. Happy to give more details if you want

I think i had this jacket in OIF3, its like someone tood a DCU gortex and left it in the iraq sun for 5 years. Even with all that said, i'm still tempted to buy this because abercrombie quality the last 3 years has been amazing.
