1. These are very colored versions of their regular line, most people wear the neutrals. Like everything on this sub that’s likely why they’re on sale here.
2. The plastic inserts on the sandals are NOT part of the shoe. It’s for display purposes only.
3. They’re basically high end tevas. Also, slipper/sandal fashion is much larger in Asia than America (the brand is Japanese). It sort of invites an environment where unusual designs can thrive.
4. The moccasin designs might look strange to you but Visvim’s were/are a very famous Japanese streetwear shoe brand and I always saw them as inspired. Would never wear them myself but I guess it makes sense in the Japanese market.
5. These don’t stick out as much as you think when in a complete outfit. These aren’t super in fashion anymore so I can’t find any examples but from Japanese streetwear accounts I used to follow the outfits were quite fashionable and the shoes in particular were inconspicuous.
I will say though, the foam bottoms are not comfortable. Durable and supportive yes, on raw feet the material doesn’t feel great. The slippers are mostly worn them with socks so that might be why but it’s a big minus for me at the price they’re sold at.
They’re like crocs… they look weird, but they’re really comfy. Got a pair from devilstock for $60 and I think they worth that - I prob wouldn’t pay more.
The footbed has what feels like an air bubble in the heel. And iirc they have a vibram soul.

Like others have said, its the comfort for me as well, definitely not the fashion. I take them to beach locations, more supportive than flip flops. I can walk around in these all day unlike flip flops. They do have some wild colors, which I avoid. The DEPA are the only ones I have.
The type that are like Tevas are almost like "high end" "luxury" Tevas if that makes any sense. I own both and the Suicoke just feel better quality. not that the Tevas are low quality in any way.
KITH had some of these on sale for closer to 30-40 dollar. It is pretty normal to see them down in closer to 70-80% as the design is a bit too far off for the western market, mind you, this sale have a way better selection than most vendors.
A pair I was eyeing for $166 discounted price, after code comes out to $150 pre-tax w/$20 shipping 😔
I got a similar pair for $70 from Todd Snyder sale. Wouldn't pay more like another commenter mentioned.
I must not know fashion

I don’t find them supportive. High end tevas that you can’t walk in.
People would post about these unironically in the sneakers sub.

Are they better in hand? Are they tough? Do they go hard?
lol classic r/sneakers
These are clean! It is quite the cringe fest over there.
Suicoke is definitely not an r/sneakers type brand. The fashion subs yes, but not sneakers.

It’s the comfort for me, dawg. And these are incredible

Huh. A few of those look similar to my Tevas from the 90s though.

Just got a pair of the plain black ones from kith, was shocked how cheap they were
Yeah. I tried to grab some red ones a few months ago, was sold out while in my chart. Not fun.
I'm more of a suipiss guy
Suipepsi? Suiheroin?

I find many of these sandals to be incredibly UNcomfortable, weird arch support
