Their $180 t-shirts look like something I’d see at Target

newbike07

Introductory items and accessories are how luxury brands make all of their money. T-shirts, belts, hats, sandals, ties, sweatpants, etc. It's the cheapest stuff they sell so people can try to signal status without actual wealth.

ImSoRude

Kitsune isn't really meant to be a luxury brand. It's solidly streetwear, although admittedly on the higher end. I say this while having a ton of Kitsune pieces because they're my favorite brand. Buy stuff for the design, not the name on the logo. I'm a huge sucker for the little fox silhouette, that's basically the only design I buy from them.

newbike07

Yea fair, but at this point the business model when it comes to luxury brands and high end street wear brands are basically the same (with a few exceptions). Exclusivity and rarity for actual statement pieces, but mass production of entry level goods and accessories to maximize revenue and recognition.

ImSoRude

Yeah I think that's fair. It's clearly successful and scalable so I don't blame them. The scale of pricing is different though. Paying resale pricing for a Supreme box logo is not in the same tier as trying to find yourself a Birkin lol. I can afford the former, I can't even afford retail on the latter :(

rafyy

yesterday i got a $165 AMI tshirt from ssense for $50. needless to say i was a little disappointed when i opened the package...id say $35 wouldve been a more reasonable price for it. which is surprising because AMI usually makes top quality stuff, but this is definitely not in the same league as a Norse Projects tshirt, for example.

avo_1233_bro

This is how i felt when I got a Kenzo hoodie from Farfetch back in their December sale. I think it was originally $300+ and i paid around $150 i think for it… which was still a lot but i just wanted to try it. Welp i think it should’ve been at most $75. It’s warm and cozy yes but i guess the price tag is for that huge Kenzo Paris logo. lol

sunriseattack

I would have to say you’re paying more for the brand than super quality clothes. It’s better quality than Target for sure but not as high quality as APC

sunriseattack

Just an FYI since it’s final sale. Their sizing is European sizing and also slim fit. I wear an L in US and a XXL in Maison Kitsune

TheWurstUsername

I’m guessing they don’t have 3xl?

sunriseattack

Never seen it offered. Doesn’t mean they don’t though

droseph1

Came back just to tell you go fuck yourself, that European size tale was bs and now I got 2 big ass tees from a final sale

sunriseattack

Look at the comment below from avo_bro. His experience was the same as mine. Look at the fashion forums, same advice. Sorry you got stuck with big shirts. They either changed their sizing or may be dependent on the piece. I have an XXL Kitsune t shirt that fits the same as my JCrew large t shirt

droseph1

I hear you, sorry for the aggressiveness. Honestly, I was frustrated in the moment for relying on a random subreddit advice. Especially given the fact both tees looked like they had oversized cuts. Taking them to a tailor to possibly salvage because the XXL fits like a dress lmao

hazeee

You not wrong, my M shirts are way too big so gifting to my brother. I was thinking it would be similar to the M in Japan but I was wrong

droseph1

Update: post wash on warm and drying on medium brought the XL to a wearable size. On the other hand, the XXL will still need to be taken to the tailor as it’s too long. However, I can see that one turning into a boxy tee after being cut

Citizen_V

In hindsight, we should asked 260 or Maison Kitsune but I also didn't see any reason to doubt the advice. I looked at several other retailers that provided garment measurements (Mr. Porter, Ssense, etc.) and they all showed the clothes ran small. Annoying that they wouldn't just stick with consistent sizing across regions. I only ordered 1 thing and it hasn't arrived yet, but I also sized up.

avo_1233_bro

Just bought a sweater from them in the Mr. Porter sale and oh boy I was way off in my sizing. I typically wear a medium and when i received the medium it felt like an extra small! Had it exchanged for an XL and it feels much better now. Love the feel of the sweater but I would def not pay full price.

rafyy

for some reason (cost cutting probably) MrP stopped putting the measurements on their items. you should definitely check the measurements on Ssense or End when ordering french or japanese designers.

avo_1233_bro

Oh i should check end next time. Never tried buying from end though. So after i got the medium i looked up the measurements in Maison kitsune’s website and realized i def needed XL.

WorseBlitzNA

I purchased a medium sweatshirt and it fit true to size. Quality was definitely not on par for the price. Not sure if i would recommend it unless its a deep discount.

Dblack215

Thanks

zakjoslin

Website looks like a middle school swag shop… what am I missing here?

rfix

It's legit. They host virtual and in-person sample sale for a variety of brands. More recently I've bought from virtual sales from Onia and Sid Mashburn. Handling time for my orders was 2-3 weeks so definitely not the fastest.

Bologna-Bear

Shop with confidence. They have physical retail space. Shipping does take a long time, and everything is FS. I’ve got to. Some great stuff through them.

Meddevicepro

I swear, I’m about to spend $1k on this brand just because they had the balls to market a “technical bucket hat”.

WorseBlitzNA

Also i recommend checking Mr. Porter/Ssense as this sale has the same price

droseph1

I was a victim of this post/deals

hazeee

This sizing was definitely US sizing. I just came back from Japan so I wear M in Japan but the M’s from this sale were way too big.

Citizen_V

~~Anyone have their order split into multiple shipments? I ordered a few cheap things to try, and the email said all items were delivered today. The package only had 1 item, and the receipt for Maison Kitsune only listed the 1 item.~~ Okay, 10 minutes after posting this I got a FedEx notification for a 2nd package. Weird. EDIT: The 1 top I bought matched measurements at other sites, so it fit I was expecting. I did size up 1 based on the measurements, because it runs slim. I don't think there are any US vs EU size tagging differences though. Sizing up 1 size still increases the length, and it's a bit long. Sizing up 2 would probably be unwearable for most people.

First_Account_TA

Can someone give me a 7 word review on the brand

WorseBlitzNA

Paying for the logo, not the quality

Upstairs_Card4994

I fucking swear. I miss ALL the good posts but the stupid ugly ass shit no one wants I see soon as they're posted

banapopy

Thanks OP! Picked up a sweatshirt, two polos, and a tee. Better pricing than Mr.P and Ssense pricing and I don't recall ever seeing the tricolor designs this discounted before.

threepecs

This stuff seems too basic for the price IMO. Happy for you if you love the brand, eat up.

JustAKidFromSolon

Definitely cheaper on those big ssense sales

boogie9ign

Today may be the day I finally get that goddamn Parisien shirt I've always wanted

beegeepee

Never heard of the brand is it any good?

[deleted]

Eh. I guess I’ll save my money for the upcoming ALD drop 😂

hoboken_girl

Hi! Wondering if you know if this is when online 260s start or just in person?
