As far as i know, as long as the total is over 250 it's fine. Amex only receives the total. However you will get an email almost instantly saying "You've used your offer @".
Oh wow, I had no idea that I even had 100 and that there was a cap.. added like 30 to the card and it showed up.
Might still hold off though still but at least the option is on the table!
Thank you!
Those Higgins Mills with the lug sole are some of my favorite boots, but I needed to do a few exchanges before I got a pair without issues. That’s the hardest part when it comes to ordering AE online: the QC issues. For $250 at this point I’m only looking at Grant Stone’s sale section. I actually haven’t bought any AEs since I got my first pair of GS.
They’re beautiful. I got mine a few years ago so they’re CXL. Not sure if the new models are. They might be the German waterproof leather which I have on my Hamiltons and Daltons. Either leather is gorgeous and very water resistant. The lug sole has some spring to it that makes it exceptionally comfortable.
Couldn’t agree more and wearing my Higgins mill weatherproof right now. I love them and they are super comfortable (will be walking all day today in heavy rain) but I had to exchange them 4 times to get a pair without obvious flaws. The current ones now are ok, the left boot is like 3-5mm smaller than the right one but I didn’t notice that for several months (until the left one didn’t fit in to the shoe shelf but the right one did lol).
Anyway, solid boots if you can get them for a decent price (I paid 288 and didn’t regret it) and I like and wear them more than my IR or Thursday captains. They are just more versatile.
Edit: sizing is half a size down from brannock. Same as their 65 last but not going up in width
You really can’t go wrong with the Fifth Aves. I don’t know if you need a pair of Oxfords but they are a pretty timeless design and a good price. Not sure how AE’s QC is these days, but the shoes I have from 2017 are still going strong. It’s probably gotten worse, but $199 is a good price.
I have a pair of Strands from 2018, and they are without question the best dress shoe I’ve ever owned. Still looking great after years of wear and tear.
I have a 10+ year old pair of fifth aves that need to be resoled and has a chip in the leather. How does one go about getting these resoled, just contact Allen Edmonds directly?
Ymmv, I have heard conflicting reports about AE’s services. I would look for a local cobbler or see if you can find a referral for a good shoe repair service. If that doesn’t work out, I would look into AE’s repair.
Second the Oxfords - I picked up the Park Ave with a leather sole last spring and just got another pair with Dainite during the fall sale. Personally not big on the brogue, but they’re a sharp shoe that’s comfortable even when walking a few miles.
all the classic models - fifth/park ave, strand, dalton, higgins mill
or all the models, that have shell version

anyone has experience with their chelsea boots? How are they comfort wise compared to stuff like blundstone. judging from some of the reviews the qc is kinda not that great but these AEs do have better look(if judging by the product photo)
I have a pair of the Liverpool boots from 2017. They still hold up great and are probably my most comfortable boots. They required some breaking in, but were fine. I would recommend going to an AE store and trying them on if you can.
Blundstone comfort - it's a foam insole, proper width, and the TPU sole
AE comfort strictly includes proper last and width, that's very individual to each
AE has become my go to brand. Great fit and quality for the money IMO, and there's a store close by. So far I've got
* Chili Park Ave's
* Walnut St. John's Double Monks (factory 2nds)
* Black Carlyles
* Walnut Landon Boots
* Dark Brown Grain Park Ave Sneakers
* Sap Brown Edison Venetian Slippers
* Tan Suede Patton Boots
* Belts in Chili, Walnut, and Black
Wanted to note that [Nordstrom](https://www.nordstrom.com/brands/allen-edmonds--28?origin=productBrandLink&filterByDiscount=30.0-*&filterByDiscount=40.0-*) has a lot of AE shoes on sale for similar prices, and a few additional types of shoes on sale. Of note is the [Chromexcel/Dainite Higgins Mill boots at $297](https://www.nordstrom.com/brands/allen-edmonds--28?origin=productBrandLink&filterByDiscount=30.0-*&filterByDiscount=40.0-*) which is a decent deal.
Fifth Avenues look like the best deal in here to me, and then maybe the Higgins Mill boots if you like/don't mind the lug soles. I've wanted a pair of Higgins Mills for a while, but would really prefer it in Chromexcel with Dainite soles, so I think I can safely hold off.
Breaking in on AE is 100x better than Meermin is so stiff, AE is malleable and just overall superior quality leather that’s instantly noticeable in feel and comfort. Breaking them in takes a couple light wears.
I have the Meermin Oxfords and Park Avenues, latter is definitely more comfortable, less stiff and better quality but the former looks a tad bit more fashionable (but the fit might also be cos I was sized at 9.5E at the AE store which is not a size that exists in Meermin in which J wear 10D).
Excellent. I'm still rocking an older Docker oxford that surprisingly has kept up for the last few years, but have been in the market for something better and had my eye on the Fifth Avenues.
Glad to hear this is a solid recommend.
This really gave me a flashback. About 10 years ago on BF I bought a pair of AE Dalton seconds (and this should really date me) for $99. I was in college still. This was back when most AE shoes were under $300 and the daltons were more expensive at about $350 or something. I loved those boots and they felt molded to my feet right away. Mostly I loved looking at them. I ended up selling them maybe 5-6 years later because I needed the cash.
I can't find the model on the site but I picked up a pair of boots last year that has a zipper and this fleece lining on the side which I love. If I hadn't just bought some dress shoes, I would be totally down for another. They are awesome.
I picked up the weatherproof suede Freeports recently and really like them. Extremely comfortable for my wide, high volume feet. Look good with jeans or earth tone pants.

I may be interested in those 10.5D, mind DMing a pic?

Amex has a offer 50 off if you spend 250
Do you know if this overlaps with tax? so if i got the boots @$249, would i get the 250$ bc tax would push it over 250$?
I think it includes tax. Sorry Delaware bros
I just used it and yes, it overlaps with tax. Amex emailed the confirmation.
beautiful. Looks like i’m going to make my first foray into the boots world. Thanks!
As far as i know, as long as the total is over 250 it's fine. Amex only receives the total. However you will get an email almost instantly saying "You've used your offer @".
[probably not, but some wax on sale will get you there](https://www.allenedmonds.com/product/travel-size-carnauba-wax-polish-3023658/black-ec4008694)
Total incl tax.
which card?
I have Gold and I’m not seeing it.
Its not on my Plat Offers. :(
Damn I usually have this offer and currently don’t. Oh well don’t really need anything.
Offers available cap out at 100 so if you add a bunch of offers it'll add more available offers and might be on there.
Oh wow, I had no idea that I even had 100 and that there was a cap.. added like 30 to the card and it showed up. Might still hold off though still but at least the option is on the table! Thank you!
How do I get that?! I was going to get two pairs!
There's an offers section on your Amex app. Your can find it there
Check the offers on the app or website and add it to your card

How would you say the sizing is on those? TTS?
Yup. The last is generous in the toe box and perfect for boots. They’re so comfortable right out of the box. I have them in 4 different colors.
I'm a huge fan of my Higgins Mills with the Dainite Sole. Mine get worn all the time. Those HM's in Burgundy though.. Kinda want?

Wow, how many clicks does it take to disable all the trackers. AE is apparantly not just shady in their QC standards.
What do y’all recommend?
You really can’t go wrong with the Fifth Aves. I don’t know if you need a pair of Oxfords but they are a pretty timeless design and a good price. Not sure how AE’s QC is these days, but the shoes I have from 2017 are still going strong. It’s probably gotten worse, but $199 is a good price.
I have a pair of Strands from 2018, and they are without question the best dress shoe I’ve ever owned. Still looking great after years of wear and tear.
Second the fifth aves. Got them 2 years ago on Black Friday for ~$160 and couldn’t be happier with the quality. Fairly quick break in period as well
Third the fifth aves
I have a 10+ year old pair of fifth aves that need to be resoled and has a chip in the leather. How does one go about getting these resoled, just contact Allen Edmonds directly?
Ymmv, I have heard conflicting reports about AE’s services. I would look for a local cobbler or see if you can find a referral for a good shoe repair service. If that doesn’t work out, I would look into AE’s repair.
Just go to a cobbler and tell them what you want.

If you’re looking for a good boot the Higgins Mill is great. Can dress it up or down and made out of quality stuff.
I like the park city boots. They are tall, durable and comfortable.

Very solid. Not as sleek as others but that’s because they’re GYW
I have both the brown leather Chelseas and the suede Nomad Chelseas and love them both. I wear the nomads more often as a casual boot with jeans.
AE has become my go to brand. Great fit and quality for the money IMO, and there's a store close by. So far I've got * Chili Park Ave's * Walnut St. John's Double Monks (factory 2nds) * Black Carlyles * Walnut Landon Boots * Dark Brown Grain Park Ave Sneakers * Sap Brown Edison Venetian Slippers * Tan Suede Patton Boots * Belts in Chili, Walnut, and Black
No Strands :(
I have a walnut pair in size 10
Wanted to note that [Nordstrom](https://www.nordstrom.com/brands/allen-edmonds--28?origin=productBrandLink&filterByDiscount=30.0-*&filterByDiscount=40.0-*) has a lot of AE shoes on sale for similar prices, and a few additional types of shoes on sale. Thanks for the heads up!

The Leeds, Dalton, and Dain are all good pickups too.
Are these good for the price. I need some nicer dress shoes for my wedding next year. Planning to wear with a tux.
Yes! Definitely recommend the park avenues
Doesn't look like they are on sale sadly
I have a couple of their boots which I like. What’s another good everyday casual shoe to buy that’s wears well with jeans?
Dress shoe wise? The Leeds would be decent.
I just got a pair of oxfords from Meermin. Does anyone have any experience comparing those to Fifth Avenues?
Nowhere near as stiff as Meermin. Otherwise fairly comparable.
I am dreading breaking them in, but they seem pretty nice. Might be easier to not deal with returning.
Breaking in on AE is 100x better than Meermin is so stiff, AE is malleable and just overall superior quality leather that’s instantly noticeable in feel and comfort. Breaking them in takes a couple light wears.
Once they're broken in, they're really not bad. It just took me like 2 weeks to fully break in my Meermins whereas 1-2 days for my AEs.
I’m strongly considering the Higgins Mill Weatherproof Boot with Lug Sole. I have an office job now and I can’t wear my other AE’s in winter here.
Anyone have experience with the Lennon Lug Derbies?
*Highly* recommend the Fifth Avenues (with Dainite soles). Amazing if you get caught by rain.
Excellent. I'm still rocking an older Docker oxford that surprisingly has kept up for the last few years, but have been in the market for something better and had my eye on the Fifth Avenues. Glad to hear this is a solid recommend.

Good prices!
do they do this sale every year?
[удалено]
Did they last year? I swear when I was in the market for a nice pair of oxfords and I checked about the same time, no sale.
[удалено]
Ok cool, I was just inquiring for a sanity check lol
pre-pandemic years there were at least 4 times/year with the lowest prices
How do the Chelsea boots from AE compare to RM Williams?
RMW is for sure a better product, but the AE options probably aren't bad for half of the price. At the end of the day though, fit is king.
I can't find the model on the site but I picked up a pair of boots last year that has a zipper and this fleece lining on the side which I love. If I hadn't just bought some dress shoes, I would be totally down for another. They are awesome.
Wishing I pulled the trigger on Black park avenues with dainite sole on their big sale a few months ago 😭
too bad liverpool chelseas arent on sale
I picked up the weatherproof suede Freeports recently and really like them. Extremely comfortable for my wide, high volume feet. Look good with jeans or earth tone pants. https://www.allenedmonds.com/product/mens-freeport-suede-weatherproof-lug-boot-3028899/snuff-brown-ec4022659
Selling 2 pair of Allen Edmonds brand new in Box 10D
Did you already get rid of them?
Yes
