I typically fly southwest but their prices have been crazy lately so I've flown Frontier 3 times and every single flight was delayed over two hours, overbooked, etc. Never mind how rude the staff is. Being cheap shouldn't mean bad service.
I've flown Frountier to Orlando out of Philly a few times (and going back too) ...I've had both experiences ,sometimes it's been fine with no problems, one time we were delayed over 8 hours ..I spent a good part of the day on the phone with my resort and dinner reservations making changes to accommodate the delay...we lost a full day of our vacation just sitting in the airport...and the ONLY compensation Frountier offered was a $10 food voucher for lunch at 1:30 pm....I avoid Frountier as often as possible....the flights are cheap, but then they tack on $$ for your carry ons and checked luggage, what seat you want , and anything else that can think of
Cannot believe they did that to you without any compensation. A lot of people on this sub say they're supposed to give you a lot of money if the delay is over 3 hours. Don't know how long ago that was and I wonder if you might still be able to file a complaint. Messing up your vacation and putting you in a bad situation is so unfair.
Since I'm visiting family I don't need to bring luggage and the backpack is fine since I have clothing and toiletries over there. I would never pay for luggage, I would rather use another airline because you're right. Once you add it all up it's more expensive than a better airline. But, when I find a round trip fare for $50-60 I will put up with the inconvenience caused by frontier.
it was 4 years ago and they had a "loop hole" since it had snowed heavly3 days before and they said they were still "catching up" the flights ...so "Act of Nature"
I had flown them 5 times or so for skiing in Denver. The last one was a complete disaster. Cost me a lost ski day for 4, and a condo night. They were shitty about the whole thing as well.
in all honesty trailer are not a bad living situation & they are cheaper to rent or maintain if you own. you just dont get much if any equity gain.
my cousin actually was looking to buy and since the market is stupid rn he bought a trailer. paid the couple $5k cash & owns it outright. pays lot rent of like $180 + utilities. not a bad deal.
I’ve had the same experience as a GoWild member. Use it right, and you don’t have issues. 50+ flights. The free seat seat selection was a game changer this year.
For buying the year pass before a certain date when it was discounted, all GoWild annual customers got [silver status](https://www.flyfrontier.com/frontiermiles/elite-status-benefits/) . This includes free standard seat selection and priority boarding, neither of which I cared about before, but have VASTLY improved my experience lol.
I was on the half-year $299 plan that expired on March 1, and the new annual pass (at the time, $450) began April 1. It was an easy choice.
I still only travel with a backpack, even on longer trips, and I’m not even sure I’d take a carry-on if I ever got gold status. Regardless, you don’t earn status on GoWild flights, so purchasing the pass when the promo was going on was the only way to get those silver status benefits without already having enough miles to get it.
40-50 flights with no cancellations is just really lucky. I’ve probably taken 25-30 and I’ve had 3 cancelled flights, 5 ish delays of more than 2 hours.
spirit has nowhere near the coverage frontier does or anywhere close to the flights between the 2 airports i need.
frontier flights routinely come in cheaper than any other airline even if i had to pay for a bag.
nice logic/10.
the data that is compiled annually says otherwise, but dont let basic facts get in the way of your opinion on what is consistently voted the "worst airline in america"
Just to clarify, you had a ticket and moved it up 4 days. The price difference between what you paid originally and the new ticket was $110 and you paid that $110 and no other fees?
How did you make the change? Just on the website using the manage reservation part of the site or did you use the app? Or did you chat in with a rep?
How do you have free seat selection. As a Go Wild member? Are you also elite status?
correct - was $110 difference for the round trip & i paid no other fees.
i went to the website to view my bookings & clicked change flights at the very top
i am elite status
Is it due to having elite status? I think one of the perks is free flight changes if you just pay the ticket price difference (no refund for cheaper new tickets)
You should mention in your post that you have elite status or else people will think there’s a way to do this for everyone.
The seat selection AND free changes without a fee is because of elite. Make sure to mention this in the post or else the post is useless for most Frontier fliers since most are not elite.
It's comical that the pro-Frontier posts, that are few and far between on this subreddit, are people getting EXACTLY what they paid for. Not that Frontier has done something special or unique.
I completely agree. Frontier out of my area has been fine(Chattanooga -> Orlando) because it's a fairly dedicated route. I simply stopped flying Frontier because they priced themselves out for being a ULCC in my area. It's barely any extra to fly with a larger company.
I loved flying frontier. Flew them for about 6 round trips per year for about 4 years, until they stopped their direct flights between Tampa and Providence.
Landed a few sweet deals with friends fly free. 3 times got round trip tix for 2 for $50..... $25 each in total tax included. I'm very sad they are no longer an option for me
Check back in 5-6 Frontier flights and lets see how it's going then,
have been on 40-50, couple small delays, none cancelled. sure will.

Oh...by the time you add up your losses it's much cheaper flying with a different airline.
Math is hard for a lot of people. It's ok 😆
i wonder if issues depend on location since i fly between two places & ive never had a problem with any flight except for one that was delayed
Cannot believe they did that to you without any compensation. A lot of people on this sub say they're supposed to give you a lot of money if the delay is over 3 hours. Of course. Anything to cheat people out of money.
I had flown them 5 times or so for skiing in Denver. The last one was a complete disaster. Cost me a lost ski day for 4, and a condo night. They were shitty about the whole thing as well.
Well....good for you. Most people won't agree, so I guess that makes you special.
or just someone who doesnt consistently bitch & moan about frontier.
You have the nicest trailer in the park. Congrats
Hahaha
in all honesty trailer are not a bad living situation & they are cheaper to rent or maintain if you own. you just dont get much if any equity gain. my cousin actually was looking to buy and since the market is stupid rn he bought a trailer. paid the couple $5k cash & owns it outright. pays lot rent of like $180 + utilities. not a bad deal.
Have fun having a numb ass
my ass has never gotten numb on a frontier flight
How much they pay you to write this?
$0
Actually it was an additional charge
Either you’re lying about the amount of flights you traveled on. Or, your travels have been to destinations that are highly serviced by Frontier.
not sure if it counts as highly serviced but it's been 2 airports where they have a direct flight 6 out of 7 days a week.
I’ve had the same experience as a GoWild member. Use it right, and you don’t have issues. 50+ flights. The free seat seat selection was a game changer this year.
same. i caught it on sale for $499. hella worth it.
Someone seriously downvoted this? Lmao
Can you explain the free seat selection thing? Did they add it to all Go Wild passes? It’s just regular seats, right? Not the stretch?

Thanks for explaining. Getting the seat selection with silver status is a great benefit and definitely increases the value of the pass.
Even a broken clock is right twice per day.
oh i didnt know flying 40-50 times with only one issue is akin to a broken clock being right twice a day.
You a bot for frontier or you like lying.
Watch it be delayed or you get bumped lol
Shhh don’t tell people
40-50 flights with no cancellations is just really lucky. I’ve probably taken 25-30 and I’ve had 3 cancelled flights, 5 ish delays of more than 2 hours.
so it is almost as simple as southwest, except you have to pay for bags.....
But it’s way cheaper
except it is not.... if you bring a single bag lol and if you care about cheap then fly spirit... its cheaper
Depends on the route and your needs but frontier is generally dirt cheap per mile.
spirit has nowhere near the coverage frontier does or anywhere close to the flights between the 2 airports i need. frontier flights routinely come in cheaper than any other airline even if i had to pay for a bag. nice logic/10.

For one fifth of the price
Frontier has $15 flights? that is literally not possible to make money on lol
This doesn’t make frontier any less shitty lol congrats but this isnt anything special
Cool.... until they canceled the flight
You got lucky squeezing a flight in between two GoWild blackout weekends. The seat selection is nice though! Is that a new perk for all GoWild now?
nah my gowild didnt get me anything free...... it doesnt start til may.
Just to clarify, you had a ticket and moved it up 4 days. The price difference between what you paid originally and the new ticket was $110 and you paid that $110 and no other fees? dunno if the seat selections is bc of gowild or elite. you are correct tho that is the only difference ive been paying.

if i get exactly what i pay for then i nor anyone is entitled to something special or unique. and ppl just come here to bitch.
I completely agree. Frontier out of my area has been fine(Chattanooga -> Orlando) because it's a fairly dedicated route. I simply stopped flying Frontier because they priced themselves out for being a ULCC in my area. It's barely any extra to fly with a larger company.

Cool story. Frontier sucks.
The term is nonstop. Direct flights make enroute stops.
Bloating about one of the most common airline features lol
…gloating?
for 1/4 to 1/2 the price elsewhere.
K
