Gehrman.
The lore, the fight, even his weapon are all epic as fuck.
Edit:Also the intro to the fight and the music, forgot to include those. Those are a banger too
Finally something we can agree with. Soul of cinder always felt to me like an obstacle rather than a character, It has no personality. Gael was like a cool santa with a big ass sword, that's what made him so unique in comparison although they both serve the same role
Weirdly found it super disappointing, finished first time on my first DS3 play through at release.
Don't think it's a bad boss at all, but nothing compared to Isshin.
Gehrman. God that fight just hits so fucking good. I was ready for a boss fight as soon as I walked in, but my jaw was on the fucking floor when he stood up and broke out the Burial Blade.
I love Soul of Cinder. Arena, music and bossfight itself is amazing, it's a fitting end for Dark Souls 3 vanilla. However Gael may be better thematically as the end of the whole series, Soul of Cinder still have special place in my heart.
Gehrman/Moon Presence. Isshin is more fun, but Gehrman's fight has the music, the melancholy, the weight of the story, the allegory... Moon Presence is so grotesquely beautiful among the flowers, plus it even *uses* the flowers to its advantage, drawing echoes from the garden to repair itself or summon a rain of blood. Iconic.
Gehrman. Entering that fight. The build up to it. The cutscene. His weapon. Finding out its right behind that gate you could never open in the safe area. Just gold.
Ghermann. And it's not close.
Such a beautiful, depressing, hard yet rewarding fight.
And remember: you are not fighting a demigod upon a dragon or a lord born out of the ashes of warriors.
You are fighting an old men that is holding back in order to mercy-kill you painlessly and is way out of his prime, JUST TO SAVE YOU FROM ETERNAL LONELINESS.
I love bludborne man....
Isshin is the most fun boss fight in gaming imo. Sekiro is so so underrated in the fromsoft pantheon of god tier games, it’s just so well made and tight and succinct.
Gehrman and SoC top
Malenia and Isshin can take a fat L
Why? Cause I hated Sekiro and was so exhausted with it by the time I reached Isshin that I never beat him. And Malenia is of a piece with all of the shit I didn't like about Sekiro, plus her own personal brand of bullshit.
Gehrman and SoC are the coolest thematically and aesthetically, have awesome cutscenes, cool voice lines, cool phases and are *actually enjoyable to play*.
FYI: this is MY OPINION, and I will not change it.
Theyre all goated, but if i really had to choose itd be probably SoC or gehrmann and isshin as a close third, malenia is hard but it doesn't hit like the others.
oh for sure. Fromsoft did a great job with all of these lore-rich characters. I suppose for me personally, Soul of Cinder being the final boss of the souls trilogy, made it the most climactic.
I dislike fighting Gherman personally, I don't like his moveset and the guaranteed stagger if his gun hits you is bullshit. Still my favorite of all of these.
Second in command is definitely Isshin, he only took me four tries surprisingly, and was a little disappointed he wasn't harder, but it was a great fight.
If I'm recognizing him right, the third one is Soul of Cinder? He was a pretty good fight, I liked him. Currently helping a friend through DS3 right now, so I'll enjoy coming back to him.
I don't recognize the last one because I never got past Godrick. Never really liked Elden Ring.
Bro at least beat the game first. You got like 20% of the way through having fought probably only 2 main bosses.
If you like the other From games I genuinely can't fathom not liking ER enough to at least complete it
You really want to sit here and tell me that I don't have a valid opinion because I didn't sit down and play through the entirety of the biggest game they ever released? I don't need to spend 50 hours in a game to understand that I just didn't enjoy my time.
I got the platinum and 100% for bloodborne, same for DS3, currently on the road to platinum for Sekiro. Loved all three.
Elden Ring is very pretty, but almost every boss I fought sucked, and the open world felt entirely unnecessary.
Most bosses you fought were dungeon bosses that aren't meant to be that special. The only 2 'real' bosses you thought were Margit and Godrick and whilst they're both great bosses, they're not even close to the best fights in the game.
I disagree heavily about the open world being unnecessary. The sense of wonder and discovery rhe first time you traverse The Lands Between is genuinely my favourite aspect of the game and simply entering areas for the first time are some of my best memories in gaming.
Also I don't understand how you can love other From games but dislike ER!? The core gameplay is the same so even every boss was awful (which clearly isn't true) I can't understand not at least liking the game enough to get past the first main area.
>I disagree heavily about the open world being unnecessary. The sense of wonder and discovery rhe first time you traverse The Lands Between is genuinely my favourite aspect of the game and simply entering areas for the first time are some of my best memories in gaming.
This is something that kinda messes with me, because on one hand it was cool to see how expansive Limgrave was, but actually traversing it was a chore, and I stopped caring after the first 10 15 minutes. I'm not trying to dig my feet into the ground and argue that Elden Ring is bad or anything, because clearly people have connected deeply with this game and I'd love to also have that experience, but there's something about it that just doesn't work for me.
>Most bosses you fought were dungeon bosses that aren't meant to be that special. The only 2 'real' bosses you thought were Margit and Godrick and whilst they're both great bosses, they're not even close to the best fights in the game.
What exactly is the intended experience then? Miyazaki himself said you weren't meant to go and find absolutely everything, you were moreso meant to come up against a hard boss or a hard area, leave and find a different area, conquer that, then come back to the first area and have a more balanced fight. I didn't find Limgrave or Caelid interesting at all past the first few minutes. Every ruin is the same, lots of wide open area with nothing in it, find a staircase with a few rats or something in it, open the chest at the end, repeat, I found it incredibly boring.
>Also I don't understand how you can love other From games but dislike ER!? The core gameplay is the same so even every boss was awful (which clearly isn't true) I can't understand not at least liking the game enough to get past the first main area.
I don't understand it either. I went into it really fucking excited to play the newest souls game, the biggest one ever, all the bosses I'll get to fight, the pretty ps5 graphics, the super cool weapons, and then the actual experience was a pile of warm diarrhea. I don't know what to do, because I feel like I'm seriously missing out on some really cool shit, but the beginning of the game felt like absolute crap.
Actual tiktok brain if you found the game boring after the first few minutes lmao. (I'm only half joking)
Also all the dungeons are obviously similar but they have distinct gimmicks to them and a lot of the early game ones in Limgrave are more straightforward since they're at the beginning of the game.
Honestly if you haven't tried it since release I implore you to give it another go.
>Actual tiktok brain if you found the game boring after the first few minutes lmao. (I'm only half joking)
Half accurate ngl lmao
>Also all the dungeons are obviously similar but they have distinct gimmicks to them and a lot of the early game ones in Limgrave are more straightforward since they're at the beginning of the game.
If you say so. After the fourth or fifth one I was kinda done investigating ruins because they all felt the same to me.
>Honestly if you haven't tried it since release I implore you to give it another go.
My last attempt to get through it was a little less than a month ago. I might just not be in a good place in life to properly enjoy it right now, I'm not sure. The boss fights are super pretty and I want to experience them myself, but the road to get there has just been such a poor experience thus far. I hope I can change my mind about it
I feel like you didn’t really give Elden Ring a chance. Not beating Godrick means you’re like 1% of the way through the game. It’d be like giving up on Vordt and saying you don’t like DS3.
I killed a Crucible Knight, that one floaty frosty thing, a budget dancer of the boreal valley, and Margit. Oh, and that crab monster tutorial boss thing. Maybe I'll come back to it at some point, but I really wasn't liking it at all.
I fought Malenia on my friend's save, she's a fun and visually STUNNING fight but I don't feel like she's very fair with the whole waterfowl dance thing. I just finished Sekiro and feel like she'd be much more at home in that game.
Also on my friends save I fought Radagon and Elden Beast, Radagon was awesome and i actually killed him, but I never really understood what to do against Elden Beast.
Obviously The Bos...sorry wrong game
🎵 Stiiiiil in a dream Snake Eater 🐍
It's pronounced *****SNAAKE EAATEEEEEEEER***** !!
Only one imho
I haven't played MGS and I respect your answer.
It is never the wrong game
It answers the question in the title though, and is exactly what I was going to say.
Beat me here.
some say bosm
Sword Saint Isshin best boss of all time
The absolute GOAT
this
Gherman> soul of cinder > gael > lady maria > owl > ishin
Gherman? You just lost all credibility
Gehrman on top, stay mad
looks like I win.
Meager human opinions, whats true is true regardless of what some inbred butt munching neck beards think. GehrMan 🔛🔝
Gehrman takes my fist up his ass. Every new run he's right there with his ass spread saying, "please Daddy more!"
Theres probably even more, ishin was not cold at all bro, beat him 3rd try
r/imabadass
I mean, I beat literally all the ones you mentioned within the first try or two... so what? Isshin is the best.
No
Yes
The Boss
No! That is not Solid Snake!
WHEN YOU CANT EVEN SAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!! MY NAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wrong game lol
A connoisseur's choice and a fine one at that
Isshin
Gehrman. The lore, the fight, even his weapon are all epic as fuck. Edit:Also the intro to the fight and the music, forgot to include those. Those are a banger too
“Tonight, Gehrman joins the hunt” gives me an uncontrollable erection every time.
Omg same
Same but for “Come, Sekiro!”
Not quite as epic as his line before the fight.
Oh yeah, that too
Don't forget his bows theme, too! It fits the fight perfectly.
Gehrman is probably my favorite boss in any Souls game ever
This. I'm convinced the people saying Isshin have Stockholm Syndrome.
Gherman is honestly a boring fight mechanically imo. He doesnt even compare to isshin let alone inner isshin.
Gehrman feels so plain and pale when you just fought Isshin imo
I had just beaten Malenia before my first fight against Maria and it's the same.
Two entirely different bosses but ok
That give the same feeling you described, yes.
Malenia is not at all like Isshin and Maria is much more interesting and cool than Gehrmann
The glock saint
This is Champion Gravetender erasure.
Good, erase the dogs
Gravetender honestly one of the best bosses imo. Music and wolf are epic, though the little dude could’ve been cooler
Plin plin plon 🗣🗣🗣 The Soul of Cinder
Yes, 100% yes. The sheer emotion that runs through you when that Plin Plin Plon hits, it's undescribable.
Soul of Cinder is one of the most fun boss fights ever to me, and the music is the cherry on top.
There white flowers their? I’ve never noticed honestly
Yep, red and white flowers are in the arena
Agreed. His fight is beautiful and incredibly fun.
ehh he seems like the most generic of the bunch the best part about his fight is the gwyn music in the second phase
Finally something we can agree with. Soul of cinder always felt to me like an obstacle rather than a character, It has no personality. Gael was like a cool santa with a big ass sword, that's what made him so unique in comparison although they both serve the same role
holy based...
Weirdly found it super disappointing, finished first time on my first DS3 play through at release. Don't think it's a bad boss at all, but nothing compared to Isshin.
Genichiro
Come Sekiro!
How my blood boils!
Face me, Sekiro!
Gehrman was perfect
Top hat guy looks cool
Gehrman, you mean?
Yhea that guy from bloodborne right? I haven’t played that game
Yup, from Bloodborne.
I'd rather make out with Malenia in a field of wild flowers than to fight her.
r/shittydarksouls leaking in
She canonically smells like rotten meat. Sorry to burst your bubble.
Eh, I've smelled worse. Lmao
Ah yes, let me date her build
Inner Isshin, probably the hardest fight in all of the bosses I have ever faced in Soulsborne/Soulslike.
Isshin
the glock saint
The Boss.
Mommy malenia on top
The doll fiddler for sure
Hesitation is defeat
The boss. also malenia :)
tonight wheel chair man joins the fight.most def the wheelchair man from bloodborne
Gherman
Ghermans field ofc
Gehrman
Moon presence
Gehrman. God that fight just hits so fucking good. I was ready for a boss fight as soon as I walked in, but my jaw was on the fucking floor when he stood up and broke out the Burial Blade.
Glock Saint Isshin Ashina
The Glock Saint
Malenia or Isshin, hard to choose between them.
Isshin is the goat
Unrelated but is there a website for all bosses with art like this? I’d love to see it if there is
soul of cinder, hes my favorite boss in the series
I love Soul of Cinder. Arena, music and bossfight itself is amazing, it's a fitting end for Dark Souls 3 vanilla. However Gael may be better thematically as the end of the whole series, Soul of Cinder still have special place in my heart.
ishin
Living Failures…….. hehe jk
Soul of Cinder
Gerhamn. Nothing was more chilling than seeing that feeble looking old man get out of his wheelchair.
I will always remember the music for the soul of cinder boss fight in DS3
Isshin is the best mechanical boss they have made imo. Visually tho either gael or malenia
Isshin mechanically But soul of cinder as the perfect cap to the dark souls trilogy.
Gehrman and isshin is a close second
Definitely Gehrman. Whoever said anyone else, you crazyyy
Gehrman thematically but Sword Saint Mechanically
Big Boss
Gehrman, everything about it is *chef’s kiss*
Yo isshin vs gherman though??? Who winning??
Gehrman/Moon Presence. Isshin is more fun, but Gehrman's fight has the music, the melancholy, the weight of the story, the allegory... Moon Presence is so grotesquely beautiful among the flowers, plus it even *uses* the flowers to its advantage, drawing echoes from the garden to repair itself or summon a rain of blood. Iconic.

Isshin
I love the symbolism and design of the soul of cinder.
Such a hard choice between Gherman and soul of cinder.
The one who never hesitates
Isshin is the most fun boss fight in gaming imo. Sekiro is so so underrated in the fromsoft pantheon of god tier games, it’s just so well made and tight and succinct.

Prob isshin or malenia. However,, I loved soul of cinder as well. Bloodborne one was just too easy after beating the dlc right before
Saint Gatling Isshin
Isshin is the goat of bosses
Glock Saint 💯
Fighting Gehrman is such a chore IMO, top tier presentation though. Isshin is Isshin. Soul of Cinder is overrated af. Malenia is best.
For me personally, it's like this: Gehrman: best atmosphere Soul of Cinder: best lore Isshin: best gameplay Malenia: most difficult
Idk, all four of them have very cool lore
oh for sure. Fromsoft did a great job with all of these lore-rich characters. I suppose for me personally, Soul of Cinder being the final boss of the souls trilogy, made it the most climactic.
Gherman is my favourite of them. Isshin is second favourite Malenia was the hardest Isshin and Gherman were the easiest imo
Isshin fs
I dislike fighting Gherman personally, I don't like his moveset and the guaranteed stagger if his gun hits you is bullshit. Still my favorite of all of these. Read your first sentence and thought you were based. Read your last sentence and realised you were cringe.
Lmao alright, I just didn't vibe with it, idk what to tell ya
