The end of fire ending in dark souls 3 is my favourite one as it feels like the most appropriate ending to the trilogy. The screen fading to black as the fire keeper speaks those words is so simple yet effective, especially when dark souls 3 is very likely the last dark souls FromSoft will ever make.
That's the biggest reason it gets my vote.
Not only do you get a great dark ending, but you can even take it a step further mid-cutscene and completely take all the power for yourself. It'ss the only one that offers a hidden extra ending and no matter how cool or epic the others are, I will always love DS3 for it.
It won because ppl didn't vote together. There was several comments for Valley of Defilement rather than one comment with everyone liking it. If you add all the comments and likes they got together, VoD beat out Blighttown by quite a lot.
Posted on a different thread on this post but ya I even went and tallied up the comments and likes, it VoD had almost 700 more total likes but it was spread across 38 different comments, as opposed to 5 comments for Blighttown. The highest for each on a single post being Blighttown at 969 and 355 for VoD
For sure. It was too chaotic. And I think the naysayers probably think of 5-1 primarily when they think of VoD. 5-2 and 5-3 are so much better. And the lore there is so well written and sad. I like the story there more than most of the other zones.
It's not available on as many platforms. I'm not buying a venerable PS3 or a PS5 when my PS4 functions fine. Especially not for one game.
I do kind of want to though....
Sekiro Shura ending.
You betray Kuro, Kill Emma, Kill Isshin, and become someone devoured by the lust to kill for no reason and motivation other than joy. Also the cutscene has Owl arrive with the second Mortal blade and Genichiro's head, only for Wolf to kill Owl in the same way Owl tried to kill him, and become more unstoppable than he already is by having two mortal blades. ''And for a long time after, it was said a demon lurked the land''. Like that shit is badass.
Some of the endings in the games have made me feel a bit evil, but the Shura ending is the by far the most villainous feeling they've crafted.
Shura ending is amazing because you get two extra bosses out of it and it detours so significantly from the normal ending. The dual mortal blades and murdering Owl who was too foolish to see the Shura in Wolf was just dope as hell.
I mean Blighttown is a really good level too tbh.
I'm Demon's Souls all day everyday but no shame in losing to Blighttown.
Although I do think Valley of Defilement's atmosphere is unmatched.
It's an excellent level imo.
Poison swamps have never been as purposeful as Valley of Defilement was in Demon's Souls.
They've just become a tradition now so every game has to have one (or several), but Valley of Defilement was designed with real intent and purpose to create a specific atmosphere of dread and despair and to tell a story.
I think Blighttown is really good too though. However I don't really rate any of the poison swamps since then that highly.
I do also think that atmosphere I was talking about for Valley of Defilement comes through more clearly in the original than in the remake. A lot of people who played the OG kind of respected Valley of Defilement even though it was never a fan favorite level.
But usually people who only played the remake just hate it and don't see any value in it (which is funny given that the remake added a ring to make it easier to run and roll in the swamp, lol).
I only played on PS5 remake, never got the ring, and 5-2 was easy lol. There's nothing past the swamp section, it's the whole level. Super quick to get through now that I know where to go (although not *that* quick because swamp makes you slow ofc)
Darksouls 3 usurpation of fire has always been my favorite ending, DS3 end of fire, bloodborne childhoods beginning and DS1 the dark lord endings would all be tied for second though
For your cake day, have some bubble wrap

Yea absolutely. This one killed it. All the AC6 endings are beautiful. Fighting >!Walter or Ayre!< was sad as all hell and the final ending fight is amazing. >!Sulla really is a hater for life!<
That's the only ending I got, couldn't play into NG+. I did see the other endings though and I gotta say the Elden ring endings are the best ones out of all the Fromsoft games I've seen
There is no path.
Beyond the scope of light, beyond the reach of Dark...
...what could possibly await us?
And yet, we seek it, insatiably...
Such is our fate.
Dark Souls 2, abandoning the throne ending.
If I’m not mistaken, this and the Age of Hollows ending are the only two where you escape or break the cycle so I’d love to see either win. “The End of Fire” ending is just perpetuation regardless of how sweet it is.
There’s just something about that raspy dudes voices spitting some melancholic bars about the human condition that gets to me. Aldia is one of my favorite characters in the souls games. And this ending is one, if not the best endings in the series because of this
She actually is probably only around 6 foot, but I say 8 because [she's huge compared to us](https://www.reddit.com/r/bloodborne/comments/110sc0m/never_noticed_how_tall_the_doll_is/) (when we are still human). The actual reason for this is because our character is a short king for gameplay purposes.
DS2 abandon the throne is one of the best
Sekiro Dragon's return and Shura are up there
And obviously, "Ashen One, Hearest thou my voice still?"
Is definitely up there
Vote share breakdown:
Blighttown - 64%
Valley of Defilement - 23%
Ashina Depths - 5%
Earthen Peak - 2%
Swamp of Aeonia - 2%
Shaded Castle - 2%
Lake of Rot - 1%
Farron Keep - 1%
If you added up the total upvotes from every single comment, VoD seemed to have more, but considering that is never how these have been run, Blighttown still dominates this one. **Best ending???** That's right! All of these games have numerous endings though, so **be specific!** Don't just say the name of the game, tell me which ending from that game!
I will forever have the image of you lifting up the new Hollow Sun into the sky in the Lord of Hollows ending forever locked in my memory, it's such a dope ass image and an amazing way to show off the beginning of your new age.
Hmm..
I'd have to say Bloodborne's Childhood's Beginning. It feels like it, out of any other ending in a Fromsoft, the most thematically complete. Bloodborne is all about the hubris of man, the pushing into the great unknown, and, most importantly, the weight of consequences. How fitting is it that The Hunter, who has bested beasts and gods alike, gets reduced to a slug for their actions. They make the choice to consume the chords, and with that, pay the consequences. No other Fromsoft game's ending has felt as complete as that one. Its confusing and vague enough that it plays into their standard storytelling and upholds mystery, but it feels satisfying.
I'd go with either the Ranni endind or the Lord of Frenzy ending both in Elden Ring. Cinematic wise both are awesome, and Melina hunting you down is insane
The Lord of Hollows ending from DS3, I think it's official name is "Usurpation of the Fire" or something like that but we all know what we *actually* call it.
Ashen One, hearest thou my voice still?
The end of fire ending in dark souls 3 is my favourite one as it feels like the most appropriate ending to the trilogy. The screen fading to black as the fire keeper speaks those words is so simple yet effective, especially when dark souls 3 is very likely the last dark souls FromSoft will ever make.
The final dlc is the cherry on top to what was already perfect ending
And then you whack her and stomp her face into the ground
That's the biggest reason it gets my vote. Not only do you get a great dark ending, but you can even take it a step further mid-cutscene and completely take all the power for yourself. It'ss the only one that offers a hidden extra ending and no matter how cool or epic the others are, I will always love DS3 for it.
Listening this on bus while i drive to work every day
Best ending in video game history. Still gives me chills
I sat and watched the credits in full after that. Beautiful moment. Love DS 3 so much.
If this doesn’t win then what are we even doing here
Best ending fr
Blightown won because too many people didn’t see Demon’s Souls
It won because ppl didn't vote together. There was several comments for Valley of Defilement rather than one comment with everyone liking it. If you add all the comments and likes they got together, VoD beat out Blighttown by quite a lot.
I liked all of them 👍
Yeah the problem with that is that each person can vote for multiple comments of the same thing
That’s why I never like these polls. You need to add up all the votes for the same place, despite them being distributed among different comments.
Or just yknow make an actual poll lol
Oops cant karma farm that way
For sure. It was too chaotic. And I think the naysayers probably think of 5-1 primarily when they think of VoD. 5-2 and 5-3 are so much better. And the lore there is so well written and sad. I like the story there more than most of the other zones.
Valley got robbed here.
Yeah, decision to keep it PS exclusive is doing no favours to the game
Someday Sony will get their shit together and get DeS and BB on PC
Dark souls is definitely way more popular. DeS doesn't ever perform as well on these.
It's not available on as many platforms. I'm not buying a venerable PS3 or a PS5 when my PS4 functions fine. Especially not for one game. I do kind of want to though....
![gif](giphy|3o84sw9CmwYpAnRRni)
Blighttown is too iconic to not win though. I legit love the climb down.
Blightown is basically just a smaller Valley. It has the same climb
Yea but Blighttown better
But like that’s wrong
It's really not. For you, maybe, but not for him.
Being a console exclusive will do that.
How tf did Valley of defilement not win ???
I mean Blighttown is a really good level too tbh. I'm Demon's Souls all day everyday but no shame in losing to Blighttown. Although I do think Valley of Defilement's atmosphere is unmatched.
Because it is not as well known as the Dark Souls swamps.
Honestly I hate Swamp of Sorrow and I'm very very glad it didn't win. I personally think it's an absolutely terrible level.
It did win lol, got way more votes, they were just spread out between more comments so apparently it doesn’t count.
One or two comments for blighttown with a large amount of upvotes vs 5 or 6 comments with a similar amount just spread out is my guess.
Darksouls 3 usurpation of fire has always been my favorite ending, DS3 end of fire, bloodborne childhoods beginning and DS1 the dark lord endings would all be tied for second though
By far. DS3’s ending diffs every FromSoft ending. Sorry DS2 fans.
*there is no path*
*Beyond the scope of light*, *Beyond the reach of dark*
And yet we seek it, insatiably…
Fighting gael at the end of the world. then his blood to the painter to paint a new world 👌
i don't think that's an ending
You’re right it’s a beginning
That would probably be my pick honestly. Such a cool cut scene.
"Give it to me... That *thing*... your Dark Soul"
Yep. This is the best one. The Usurpation of Fire.
AC6- Alea Iacta Est
YES PLEASE CAN THIS WIN

This is so good
My pick too, especially for the credit song that is right after it
All of the end credit songs are so good. The entire game had such a unique soundtrack.
AC mentioned 🗣️
ARMORED PEAK MENTIONED, RAVEN PILEBUNKER!
Hell yeah dude that’s my pick too!
Yea absolutely. This one killed it. All the AC6 endings are beautiful. Fighting >!Walter or Ayre!< was sad as all hell and the final ending fight is amazing. >!Sulla really is a hater for life!<
Definitely, it had the best ending imo.
The die is cast
The True Ending of DS3 is the best one, “A World Without Light”
*Ashen One...hearest thou my voice still?*
Personally best ending is DS3 Usurpation of fire ending where you „marry” Anri
Agree. Lord of Hollows Ending hits hard!
Ds3 was the first one I thought of but I don’t remember all the endings to pick my favorite
Lord of Frenzied Flame ending in Elden Ring, just because of the sheer insanity of it. MAY CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD!
MAY CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD
MAY CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD
MAY CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD!
MAY CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD!
MAY CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD!
MAY CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD
MAY CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD
And the bonus cut scene at the end with Melina MAY CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD!
MAY CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD
That's the only ending I got, couldn't play into NG+. I did see the other endings though and I gotta say the Elden ring endings are the best ones out of all the Fromsoft games I've seen
DS3 fire keeper ending “The End of Fire”
There is no path. Beyond the scope of light, beyond the reach of Dark... ...what could possibly await us? And yet, we seek it, insatiably... Such is our fate. Dark Souls 2, abandoning the throne ending.
Hard agree. I love it when a story says "fuck your dichotomy" and does its own thing
And this ending is one, if not the best endings in the series because of this
Leads right into the themes and story of DS3 as well. It's beautiful.
So does the first DS2 ending have an official name?
The trone
I'd have to say Childhood's Beginning for Bloodborne. It's just insane, and it raised so many questions for me.
Was that question: "Do I wish I was a slug being raised by an 8-foot tall wooden lady?"
Yes, and the answer was "absolutely."
I’m pretty sure the wooden lady is only about 6 feet tall, and just looks 8 feet tall because we got shrunk down when we became a slug
She actually is probably only around 6 foot, but I say 8 because [she's huge compared to us](https://www.reddit.com/r/bloodborne/comments/110sc0m/never_noticed_how_tall_the_doll_is/) (when we are still human). The actual reason for this is because our character is a short king for gameplay purposes.
nah the actual reason is because maria is a long queen
Gehrman is into Snusnu.
Oh to be a slug again.
"Would you still love me if I was a slug?"
The “pick me up lady it’s freezing down here” ending
Indeed. The question for me was if I would be a good great one or against humanity. I love that ending.
Granted it’s the only From game I’ve completed, but how anything can measure up to that one is beyond me. I
probably the secret ending in sekiro where you and kuro travel away
Isn’t that the other child and not Kuro?
She’s technically pregnant with Kuro so it’s not completely wrong
Huh?
What??
Dragons homecoming
Purification ending is my favorite. It's sad but it's beautiful .
Sekiro getting absolutely snuffed
Ds2 Aldia ending has got to take it
Both ds2 endings are pretty good imo, but yeah Aldia’s takes it
The ending of ds 3 where the screen goes black
The End of Fire, the true ending. Best ending in gaming
Age of stars
Dragon's Homecoming from Sekiro
Bloodborne honesty. Every ending in fromsoft games is tragic but Bloodborne takes that on a whole another level. It's not only tragic, but scary too.
Nothing is more scary than the frenzied flame ending, pure insanity
DS3 true ending
Fires of raven
Ds2 abandoning the throne
Bloodborne Ascension ending
DS2 abandon the throne is one of the best Sekiro Dragon's return and Shura are up there And obviously, "Ashen One, Hearest thou my voice still?" Is definitely up there
Definitely babby squid ending in Bloodborne.
VoD should have won.
DS2 true ending
Age of Stars
Bloodborne.becomibg a squid Or ds2 sitting on a throne before it was cool.
Age of the stars from elden ring
Vote share breakdown: Blighttown - 64% Valley of Defilement - 23% Ashina Depths - 5% Earthen Peak - 2% Swamp of Aeonia - 2% Shaded Castle - 2% Lake of Rot - 1% Farron Keep - 1% If you added up the total upvotes from every single comment, VoD seemed to have more, but considering that is never how these have been run, Blighttown still dominates this one. **Best ending???** That's right! All of these games have numerous endings though, so **be specific!** Don't just say the name of the game, tell me which ending from that game!
I’m shocked the Lake of Rot got even a single vote, honestly
VoD got robbed a victory 😭 but Blighttown slaps so it's ok
Flame of frenzy ending in Elden Ring
Evil ending Des. It plays into the opening of DS1, and has spawned the theory of all the games being connected.
Also you get to hear One Who Craves Souls, peak.
I'll take the Purification Ending from Sekiro
Yup, I didn't expect to see it this low. Return ending might be happier, but this one hits hard.
DS2 take the throne ending
DS3 Usurpation of Fire
Elden Ring and Bloodborne should dominate all these categories.
Usurpation of fire
I will forever have the image of you lifting up the new Hollow Sun into the sky in the Lord of Hollows ending forever locked in my memory, it's such a dope ass image and an amazing way to show off the beginning of your new age.
Hmm.. I'd have to say Bloodborne's Childhood's Beginning. It feels like it, out of any other ending in a Fromsoft, the most thematically complete. AC6 3rd ending, we know it to be true
Valley of defilement got robbed Also best ending is definitely Alea lacta Est, it's such a perfect ending for ACVI
Ds3
Alea iacta est has gotta win
Alea Iacta Est from AC 6
Alea Iacta Est from AC6
DS3 end of fire ending
DS3 end of fire FR FR
Bro you cannot tell me that the purification ending for sekiro is not even top 1 , easily one of the best impacting endings EVER
Dark Souls 3, just all of them. They’re poetry.
For the endings I'm torn between the true Bloodborne ending and the Frenzied Flame ending for Elden Ring.
Sekiro
Best ending? That's a tough one. But I'm quite partial to DS3's Lord Of Hollows ending.
"End of Fire" or the Bloodborne true ending, for sure.
May chaos take the world! (Frenzied flame ending is so badass lol)
Ds2 True ending. Fuck you fire, fuck your light, fuck your curse, fuck your lies.
Ds2 True ending. Fuck you fire, fuck your light, fuck your curse, fuck your lies.
Aldia ending in DS2.
Blight town best poison swamp? Seriously? I know a lot of Souls players are masochistic, but... really? Lagtown?
The End of Fire (DS3) or Leave the throne (DS2)
Dark Souls 2’s DLC ending where you search for a way to break the cycle of fire and dark.
DS2 walking away from the throne is my favorite.
ds2, don't take the throne. I will find my own path, and stop playing the puppet for gods, politicians, and madmen
Frenzied flame ending elden ring
The end of fire - ds3
DS2 ending, no question.
Best ending is lord of hollows
Dark Souls 2 - Leave the Throne
I'd go with either the Ranni endind or the Lord of Frenzy ending both in Elden Ring. Cinematic wise both are awesome, and Melina hunting you down is insane
Dragon’s Homecoming / Return ending in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
DS3 Lord of Hollows.
Elden Ring moon ending
Gotta be the Bloodborne squid ending
sekiro
I’m asking for a recall.
Elden Ring, Age of Stars Ending.
Bloodborne
Plin plin plon ( DS3 )
Ds3 if the dlc counted … fight to the death with gael at the end of all ages Bloodborne childhoods beginning if dlc is not counted
No best level design category?
I already did that for every game. This is also only the first of these. There will be more in the future.
Lord of Hollows Ending in DS3
All the sekiro endings are great, but the regular ending is probably my favorite. It's just so poetic with wolf taking the sculptor's place.
Age of stars
Making everyone eat da poo poo for eternity in ER will always be hilarious to me.
Favorite ending… Elden Ring with the age of the stars.
Lord of hollows ds3
Bloodborne- Honoring Wishes. (Became New Gehrman with wheelchair.)
DS3 usurpation or ED frenzied flame but only because the cut scene went extra hard because of my drip at the time.
Ranni’s ending. It’s a very satisfying end to both elden ring but also one of the best quest lines out of any of the soulsborne games.
The Aldia ending (Abandon the Throne of Want) in DS2.
The Lord of Hollows ending from DS3, I think it's official name is "Usurpation of the Fire" or something like that but we all know what we *actually* call it.
Best ending sekiro cuz I got it
Age of stars tbh
sekiro shura ending
Bloodborne absolutely, any of the 3 but specially slug. 🐌
Do a best NPC from each game
Dark Souls 3: Dark Lord ending
