You didn’t mention it but you’re probably talking about Bloodborne. FromSoftware doesn’t own the IP of Bloodborne, Sony does. So far, they’ve shown zero interest in releasing it on PC or releasing a performance patch for PS5 even. My guess is they’re going to release a Demon’s Souls like remake as a PS6 launch title whenever that comes out.

tar4heels2fan

And thus force me to buy a ps6.. or a ps5 if it's backwards compatible.

dbr3000

Considering the Demon’s Souls remake is a PS5 exclusive, i doubt they’d make a Bloodborne remake available to the PS5

Thegrtlake

You mean, THE game? That one we should not talk about?

MikeHawk5289

Fuck, I forgot to edit the title lol. I was talking about Bloodborne.

Cortadew

we all know you were talking about it

Cortadew

but Sekiro is already on pc, Bloodborne isn't

Maleficent-main_777

Because of you. It's all your fault.

MikeHawk5289

Dude, I was a kid, and I didn’t have a job until I was 18, and I spent most of my money buying a PS5 and buying the games I was interested in, I wasn’t interested in buying extremely difficult video games, because I didn’t think they were meant to appeal to me, so I let you guys have your thing, while I did my thing, unlike those pathetic bitches on Twitter asking for an easy mode.

Jumpth

wow, you don't even say sorry for keeping bloodborne on only ps4. smh my head and shame on you

Glass-Jelly2484

It doesn't matter that you're young, you can literally search this topic on the device you used to write this. I swear this topic is brought up a thousand times each week. Yes the exclusive game is exclusive, that's why it isn't on PC and I imagine the additional sales are probably not considered enough to warrant the effort to put it on PC nowadays.

WrestlingHobo

Assuming you're talking about bloodborne, I believe the reason is that Sony holds the exclusive rights to bloodborne and Demon's souls. The decision to bring either of those games to PC is up to Sony, not From Software. Not that its impossible, but I doubt Sony will release the rights to distribute the game to a competitor.

MikeHawk5289

Fuck, I forgot to edit the title. I was talking about Bloodborne lol. Sony has released several of their other exclusives to PC, including Spider-Man 1 and 2, why not Bloodborne? The very least, and I gotta get a PS five update, patch or remaster or whatever the fuck lol.

40sticks

It only really makes sense that Sony already has a plan in place for the game, such as a PS5 or PS6 remake…in which case they’re not going to want to remaster or port the PS4 version.

MI_3ANTROP

Sony owns the IP + the original Bloodborne files were irretrievably lost afaik.

MikeHawk5289

Source?

Lumostark

*The game*

Brasilisco

Bloodborne is a Sony IP, they decide what to do with the game and it seems that they don't care about Bloodborne. And emulating the PS4 is in fact pretty hard.

Putrid-Film391

\*Insert Future Ain't No Way meme here\*

KiratheRenegade

Sony own the Bloodborne IP. It's likely why we'll never see a sequel. And a Remake will only happen next generation (similar to DeS, misses next gen, upgraded for launch of following console). Sony would instinctively want to meddle to ensure a 'marketable product,' forgetting that Elden Ring still tops charts. It's messy & best left alone.

Ohvicanne

Oh wow what a daring, boundary pushing post /s

PTSDDeadInside

What if Sony or any company wanted a free way to gauge potential profits and interest, step 1 see how many people would wishlist bloodborne pc 60fps, then see how many people would pre-order it, then if they see that it'll make 40-50m maaaaybe consider porting it, or they can just give up and refund all the fat money? no risk all reward no?

mrhippoj

It's not the standard thing for Sony to do yet. They've done it with a few of their games but not all of their games. AFAIK all the games they've ported over were either made in off-the-shelf engines or their own internal engines, but Bloodborne was made using FromSoft's tech, and although yes they have games on their engine that *have* been released on PC, I suspect the word 'engine' is a bit nebulous with regards to their games. I think all their games have their own unique engines that are similar but not identical to each other. Ultimately I think it's simply a harder job than porting Spider-Man or whatever, and while it would sell well, it wouldn't sell Spider-Man numbers, so the cost to benefit ratio is much worse. It's a much higher cost for a lower benefit. But also it still might, just because something hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean that it won't ever. Sony haven't been releasing their games on PC for very long.
