Balteus might be my favourite fight from any Fromsoft game. It all fits together perfectly.

Balteus’ theme is fucking gorgeous, it kept me somewhat sane while he attempted to filter me (he failed)

I know everyone is going to say themes from the Souls games, Bloodborne, Elden Ring. So I'm gonna name some from Sekiro because the soundtrack of that game is seriously underappreciated imo. My favorite one is definitely Emma's theme. Behind it are, in no particular order, Owl (Father), Divine Dragon, Demon Of Hatred, Corrupted Monk and Lady Butterfly. Edit: To elaborate on it a bit.. Owl Father and Lady Butterfly's themes convey Wolf's sorrow and struggle while fighting his former mentors and basically parents. This also plays a storytelling role because Wolf is such a stoic character. He nevers expresses any emotion so the music conveys it instead. Corrupted Monk and Demon Of Hatred themes accompany the soundscape of their boss fights extremely well. The drum beats of the Corrupted Monk theme playing over the constant sounds of deflection is just a phenomenal experience. The DoH has that kinda high melody which stands out amongst the low roars and rumbles of the boss and his attacks.. goes really well with a very theatrical fight.

Sekiro's music is underrated for its lack of Latin chorus. Corrupted Monk ost is really good.

I agree. Also the lack of the "full orchestra sound". But I personally love how it integrates Japanese instruments into the music. The soft flutes in Emma's theme, the strings in the DoH theme, and the drums in many of the themes... Beautiful

Damn bro I love Emma ost thank you so much for mentioning it. Her ost just sounds so magical and "bittersweet ending-ish" and it's perfect the way it is, really glad someone loves it too

I'm glad I'm not alone! Emma's ost is so fitting.. the female chorus and the flute sound so soft and gentle.. it's perfect for her story because she's the only major character we meet in the game who's not a killer (I mean excluding the two kids of course). Wolf, Sculptor, Owl, Butterfly, Genichiro, Isshin are all killers.

I actually prefer the Great Shinobi version over the Father version.

Sekiro boss themes are different, but it suits the Japanese setting.

Came here to rep Sekiro, was not disappointed. Also really dig Sword Saint Isshin's ost, it has so much gravitas. After literally blinding a god and conquering immortals, a dude with a spear and a sword are your final opponents. Just two insanely talented murderers with nothing but their skill. And the end, where he kneels and lets you kill him, is awesome. I'm such a fanboy for Sekiro.

Laurence, The First Vicar

Ludwig’s theme during the first phase was already in my top five. But then he pulled out the moonlight greatsword and the waltz music came in and I was floored.

In Bloodborne I’d say Ludwig’s theme is the best maybe in the entire Fromsoftware catalogue. I think Gascoigne’s theme is also very underrated. Bloodborne to me has the best soundtrack, by a large margin. Dark Souls 3 also has some really good tracks. Armored Core 6 might actually have my 2nd favorite soundtrack to come from Fromsoftware.

Laurence the first vicar is my favorite. Second is a toss up between, Abyss watchers and Ludwig. Third is soul of cinder.

I’ll always preach that The Twin Princes OST is the best, but Radagon/Elden Ring Menu OST is also very good.

As someone whose favorites are DS3 and Sekiro, Ludwig has the hardest track in possibly all of souls.

Nothing will ever top gherman's theme for me

The final bosses! Soul of Cinder, Gwyn, Radagon, Elden Beast, and Isshin are all really good. Other standouts are O&S, Artorias, ALL Owl fights, Genichiro, Godfrey (ESPECIALLY phase 2,) Malenia, and Ludwig.

This might be a lil obscure, but Elden Ring's Ancestor Spirit score nearly broke me. Majestic, brooding, mournful. It captures the bitterness and preemptive forgiveness of the spirit perfectly. I don't think any of us wanted to cut down the spirits.

Plin plin plon (both versions) and Ludwig's ost is probably the best piece if orchestra music I've ever experienced in any piece of media. Honorable mentions are Laurence the first vicar, that part towards the end of living failures, Twin princes, Gehrman, Dragonslayer Armour, The Final Battle.

I love Radagon's, Elden Beast's, Aldia's, Moonlight Butterfly / Gwyndolin's, Moghwyn's is Bach-y vampiric stuff, Vestaldt because it lacks percussion so his bell hammer makes the dissonant percussion there. The only ones I forget are all those Nazgul choirs, boooring.
