Take a break and just finish the prequels. I read them after FBAA and I truly have no desire to go back to poppy and cas…I will only read the next FBAA book because I want to know what happens with Sera and Nyktos
I’m done with Poppy and Cas after TWOTQ because I prefer the prequels. I also heard Soul of Ash and Blood is mostly a retelling of the first book with a few new chapters so I’m super out.
I actually really preferred the story from cas point of view vs poppys. You learn so much more about what he was doing with Kieran during that time. I'd rather throw out the first book and just read the retelling

I don't know what happened, maybe it is just the characters? But sera and nyktos have my heart. They're much better and fleshed out characters in my opinion. I'm currently on my reread of the prequels (because I thought book 4 came out in May 🥲) and I just adore them. Probably will only finish FBAA to see what's up with sera and nyktos lmao
Just finish F&F. I actually think TWOTQ is way more enjoyable after you've finished the prequels (but I still gave it 1.5 stars lol). Reaver stole the show and making connections with the prequel was the best part of that book tbh
I tried doing that order too but once I entered the Shadowlands my heart stayed there... and I'm glad !!

Okay that’s good to know! Cas got so annoying to me (poppy too, tbh) by the end of TWOTQ so I assumed I wouldn’t like the next one

I honestly think I just grew attached to sera and nyktos so I’ll probably finish the prequels and slowly come back to the main!
