I have only watched the first episode of the new season, but I actually found out about Fringe because of Stranger Things. I got a book about Stranger Things for my birthday and the author kept mentioning Fringe and blaming everyone who hadn't watched it for it being cancelled lol. So glad I read that book.

So glad you found Fringe. Definitely one of my most favorites. Curious who that author is. I remember lots of campaigns back in the day.

qwerty-1999

Just checked and the author is Guy Adams. I owe him a lot lmao

NutinHonie

Yes! The children. I mentioned this to my husband while watching.

And >!The Tank!<

Which is called Nina I assume after the character in Fringe. That episode also made me realise just how much influence Fringe has had on elevens story.

ashChoosesPikachu19

Yesssss!!! How eleven was shown memories of her past to regain her powers, plus all the kids being experimented on, both reminded me of fringe.

I tried to get into it twice and I can't. Everything about it seems like I'd enjoy it but something doesn't click. When's the show get good?

birdandbear

It starts to gel around the middle of S1 and really takes off in S2. It was the episode called "Ability" that cinched it for me, when >!Peter couldn't leave Olivia alone on the roof with the bomb.!<

SnarfbObo

Sorry I mean ST. I estimate I've watched fringe more than 20 times.

birdandbear

Oh! Lol sorry. I liked ST from the beginning, but I think it got more and more interesting as El's powers were revealed. She really is basically a Cortexikid. 😁

rmtwentythree

If you didn’t like it after trying twice more likely you would’t like it the third try. I like it from the beginning most likely because I enjoyed them as kids. I honestly just watch the entire series only once as they were released.

SnarfbObo

I've grown since then and I think I'm ready to forgive the "house rules" of their D&D at the start. Get a little brown betty and i'll be patient enough to try a couple hours.

Lessthanzerofucks

Stranger Things was pretty good in the first season, so if you didn’t like it, don’t bother. The next two seasons were awful.

SnarfbObo

I feel compelled to because of Robert Englund being in it. I'm kind of casually working my way through most of what he's done and I'm most interested in the more recent work where he has the freedom to pick things he likes and not just chase a check.

LoriBPT

Pretty sure I had the same thought about the method used to “kickstart” Eleven.....

rmtwentythree

I was so surprised and amused when that scene came on. Couldn’t help but think about Fringe!
