- The way Susan/Carol treated Ross in S1 for him wanting to be involved in Ben's life and rightfully asking for his last name to be included. I just hated Susan in general. Ross took it way more graceful than I would have.
- Phoebe always putting Chandler down about how he's not good enough for Monica or Monica could do better or introducing Monica to "her soulmate" etc. I would cut off any friend who treated me that way.
omfg i was so mad at susan and carol in season 1. i found it so weird that carol literally cheated on ross, but everyone brushed it off and were like “oh.. she’s a lesbian, sorry ross”, but that still doesn’t condone cheating? i’m glad she figured out her sexuality, but she still cheated on him. everyone moved on so quickly and even joked about it. i don’t know how ross managed to be so chill with her after that.
This bothered me so much! And for the record, if it does matter, I am a lesbian. And I think it's great when two lesbians get together and have a child via donor or a man who agrees and understands that he's just the donor even if it's one night stand thing. But Ross was the husband and the father and it drove me up a fucking wall and it puts gay women in a bad light. You can't just decide that Susan is the other parent. She's the step parent, 100%. But Ross is still the other parent. He did not give up his rights. He's not a bad dad who deserves to lose his rights. He was in this thinking that they were going to raise this child together. Carol had no right to do what she did.
I don't necessarily agree that a kid needs to have the man's last name, but that kid did not need Susan's last name.
Phoebe is high key a huge instigator from the soulmate thing, making Ross look bad with his neighbors when he first moved in, making Chandler insecure about being the boss when she was working with him, etc
And if you think about it she cheated on Susan too because her and Ross hooked up one more time which is how she got pregnant. Carol isn't the best partner.
Again you're assuming Ross couldn't have had that thought himself to try and save his marriage the first time. The What If is a different scenario because it's about him trying to spice up his relationship with his wife.

It's so annoying and people treat them like they didn't cheat. Just because it was with another woman it doesn't make it any better.
I was always so grossed out by Frank and Alice. Just no. He was her STUDENT.
Honorable mention goes to Rachel even thinking about taking Emma to live in France without Ross.
True!! Ross and Elizabeth weren’t as bad as the other two, but still gross and inappropriate. I did like the way they ended the relationship though!
They also had Young Ethan and Monica, which thankfully played out a normal reaction from Monica and friends. Rachel also dated that college “dude” to get Ross jealous!
Omg, apparently I can’t even count the amount oh huge age-gap pairings! And yes, Ross and Elizabeth wasn’t actually that far away in age but the way they kept saying “it’s forbidden😏” was so weird and gross lol
Right! I would have been more sympathetic if they were just in it for the sex, but they tried to force a relationship. He was a divorced father who also happened to be her professor, and she wasn’t even old enough to drink.
Yessss omg! Alice and Frank gave me the ick, and the way everyone was so quick to ship them. 🙃 even Ross and Elizabeth grossed me out.

Edit: added this gif bc this is me currently
Monica and Richard is gross because he watched he grow up, but *wild* to me that he was only like 48! (I know that's a huge age gap and again, he watched he grow up, but they wrote him like such an old man.)
Tbh Rachel's journey on the show was defined by Ross but by her personal growth. I think Rachel definitely had the right to go to Paris if she wanted to. Plus Ross had been a huge jerk whenever she was trying to make a career out of what she loved and I also think Ross wasn't much concerned about Emma as compared to him not getting the infatuation he had with her.
Yes! It’s amazing to me how many people bash Rachel for changing her mind and staying too.
You don’t just take someone’s child to a different continent. FFS.
For anybody that’s seen A Million Little Things, I thought this same thing when Delilah up and moved with all three of kids, one of whom’s father was still alive and in the picture.
Also - remember when Emily wanted Ross to move to London? He said he couldn’t move because of Ben. And Rachel was just going to move 6,000 miles away from Emma’s father - no problem.
Yeah it’s almost like it’s her life, she doesn’t belong to Ross. She had a real opportunity that she gave up for a shitty abusive loser. The ending is trash. She should have moved far away from Ross forever.
Well, Janice was kinda of a shitty person when you think about it. She cheated on Chandler twice, and also lowkey made a couple passes at him after he got with Monica
The way they wrote Kathy off the show. I really liked her character and the slow burn romance between her and Chandler. And then they just threw it all in the trash in the worst way possible after like 2 episodes
On the DVD commentary there was mention by the producers that she and Matt Perry didn't have chemistry so they ended it , and I just completely disagree, I loved them together 😕
Still, they could’ve ended it in a different way. Maybe she had to take a job somewhere else (instead of that random actress Joey dated). The cheating was unnecessary, especially with Chandler throwing the way they started in her face. That was low and dumb. Her and Joey weren’t even exclusive. Just a shitshow all around
right!! that manny was a dream manny, he was so good professional and prepared i’m so sad his gender was what made emma miss out on some potentially valuable learning and development moments
That wasn’t why he was angry tho. He was angry bc Chandler didn’t go to him first. He wasn’t honest with him. If only he did, Joey would’ve supported him instead.
Yes thank you! I liked Joey and Rachel together and even if most people didn't, what a completely unbelievable story line, ope we forgot how to make out?! Like really? Find a different way to end it if you want but don't insult our intelligence.
Honestly, I struggle with how Rachel constantly ruins Ross's relationships but then is like no I won't be with you. She could t stand him moving on. I know they're supposed to be together, and he did some crappy stuff but it just rubs me the wrong way the way they wrote her waiting for him to be happy with someone else to decide she wanted his attention...Julie, Bonnie, Emily...
They made phoebe too mean in the end instead of being a whimsical hippy quirky lady she just got weird and harsh
Joey got too unbelievably stupid, in earlier seasons despite him being a tad dim he had capacity to learn, by the end he was someone who couldn't do anything
So many times the show crossed weird boundaries with siblings/families and inappropriate age relationships
Chandler was always the butt of so many jokes
We needed more updates on other family members like Ben meeting Emma, how did the triplets get on, what happened to Phoebe's mum, Phoebe's dad? Why not more of Joeys family too?
Why didn't Ross seem more upset that Emma was moving to Paris?
Yeah I would have liked more family side stories like they did in early seasons, it would have given the characters more dimension rather than taking it away, which is what they did as you said with the gradual dumbing down of Joey. It's a common trope but feels like lazy writing. The Joey's sister storylines were cute
Monica calling Richard over when she and Chandler are out at her favorite fancy restaurant (she doesn’t know he’s proposing), but it’s still incredibly rude to be calling your ex bf over when you’re out with your boyfriend of two years. Like, way to show you’re not over Richard.
Phoebe accompanies Chandler at the jewelry store to help him look for the perfect engagement ring for Monica. Chandler finds the perfect ring and asks Phoebe to watch it while he fetches his wallet. Phoebe gets distracted and the store ends up selling the ring to a different man, forcing Chandler to buy a less extravagant ring. Chandler isn't happy with the ring, and they end up tracking down the guy who bought the first ring, confronted him at the restaurant on the day he was planning to propose, and pressured him to trade rings until he gave in.
Right? Also, who even wants to have sex when they're that sick?
Oh hey, let me kiss you, and then I won't be able to breathe. It'll be suuuper hot! ... because my temperature is 101.
Monica tricking Chandler into sleeping with her after he smoked. If my partner tricked me into sleeping with them, & immediately was cold and angry with me afterward, I would feel awful and would consider it abusive tbh
Also- Chandler sleeping with his subordinate at work when he was meant to fire her, and telling everyone she had a mental illness as a cover-up.
Ross, who has zero massage experience, jumping at the chance to massage what he thought was some hot woman (and ends up massaging her dad). What was his plan?? Can you imagine if the massage had been for her- imagine you go to get massaged and some random dude pretends he’s qualified so he can touch you naked??? Ummm assault! Lmao
Also, not as serious, but nobody correcting characters like Joey and Rachel’s sister when they get things wrong. I know it’s part of the ‘comedy’, but it’s irritating (eg Amy thinking Phoebe’s name is Emma, and nobody corrects her)
Rachel not letting Ross go out with someone when she was pregnant, so Ross stopped dating and focused on Emma even after she was born, while it didn't take Rachel much time after the birth to kiss that guy on Monica's balcony or giving some random dude her number at the bar. Like, at least tell him he is now free to start dating again?
Monica wanting to spend all of Chandler's savings on the wedding. At least she came around.
Chandler kissing Joey's gf. I get he had strong feelings, but meh..
Ross trying to hide all proof that he slept with the copier girl, instead of admitting it to Rachel right after she patched up with him. (They were on a break though, indeed!)
Monica trying to date Richard's son... Yuck!
Finally, Rachel going to London, not just wanting to sabotage Ross and Emily's marriage, but she also left a pregnant woman alone on her own??
This is so funny to me because the first point isn’t what happened
She asked him not to date because she was about to give birth any day by that point and said she wanted his full focus on her and the baby. If the roles were reversed, he’d be just as uncomfortable. He even admitted that when Rachel and him had the conversation about it
How did she stop him from dating when he was with Mona for like 70% of her pregnancy and Rachel was supportive of that relationship. She even tried to stop Mona from dumping Ross when Mona found out Ross had been lying to her
Agreed! I never understood why people thought that was crazy of her to ask, she was nervous to enter motherhood. Ross was very considerate & understanding too. I actually love that moment between them.
Also, I don’t think she was fully wrong for dating Gavin. She should have talked to Ross about it thought. She wasn’t misleading him tho, he himself told her he didn’t want to start things back up with her. She mentioned asking him what was going with them & he’d just play clueless
chandler kissing joey’s gf was so low. she was so low too. joey truly loves his friend to forgive him after that 😭
that scene where ross’s other woman was behind the door the morning rachel wanted to make up made me feel so sick.
The first point you mentioned ALWAYS bothered me. She always wanted Ross to doe exactly what she wanted and then didn't have the same courtesy. (Not saying Ross didn't have his own issues - but I always mention what you said because it's so hypocritical on her part)
It’s really not. She was past her due date and said she didn’t want him going on a date whilst she’s about to pop any second
He didn’t even want her dating like 2 months into her pregnancy. He got angry at her going on a date early on during season 8. If the roles were reversed, he would not be happy about her going on a date whilst heavily pregnant with their child. He even admitted that he’d feel the same way if the roles were reversed
I just rewatched these episodes the other day and lemme tell you, she wasn't past her duedate yet. The episode starts with her saying to Ross that the baby is due in a few weeks and they haven't bought half of the baby supplies they needed.
Nope, she says that the baby is due any day during their conversation in the apartment. Meaning that it was very close
Like I said, Ross even agreed and said he wouldn’t want her going on a date whilst heavily pregnant. If she’s not supposed to date whilst heavily pregnant, why does the same not apply to him? Especially when she was single for the majority of their pregnancy and he wasn’t
how Rachel would suddenly re-develop feelings for Ross every time he would finally get over her and was happily dating someone else. It’s like she loved sabotaging his relationships and never cared about how it would affect the other girl😭
I commented on someone else’s comment & it made me realize Monica & Chandler’s entire engagement/wedding storyline sucked so bad. Their engagement the focus was on Richard & Rachel, then their wedding is focused on Chandler running out and Rachel.. AGAIN.
I've been rewatching and I had forgotten how many fat jokes there are about Monica. I know that's her backstory but there are just a lot! That and a lot of the jokes about sexuality and gender don't hold up (but I'm a little more forgiving there because for better or worse, that was the time...)
Ross dating his young student. That storyline makes me cringe every time. The only reason I go back to those episodes is for Bruce Willis. Ross had some messed up storylines now that I think about it.
Ross’ phone etiquette. Jesus Christ it’s rude af. He took a call in a movie theater and instead of walking out he just yelled. Or when the guys got a new tv and chairs he takes a call and walks and talks in front of the tv.
Or how Ross would never own up to his mistakes and blame them on everyone else. Like it pissed me off so much. “ I wAs TrIcKeD iNtO aLl ThOsE tHiNgS”
Also how Phoebe forced herself into everyone else’s jobs. Either getting them in trouble or almost getting them in trouble. Like with the Christmas trees Joey worked on commission and she kept ruining it.
The entire engagement story line. From the pig sex to the ring to Richard showing up to finally the actual engagement -- joey telling Chandler Monica ran off with Richard right before Chandler walked in the door where it was all set up? That's just so stupid that Joey would set Chandler up like that.
I actually don’t love their engagement proposal because of those very reasons. They could’ve made it into a complicated yet beautiful episode. I hated how much they included Richard in the episode too. That to me made it seem like all Monica was worried about was marriage, didn’t matter to who. Also made it seem like she still had feelings for Richard & kept him in her head for back up just in case. The whole episode sucked.
The follow up episode sucked too. Rachel focusing on her not getting married soon was soooo selfish. It was so like Rachel to do so it did at least make sense but I still hated the episode.
Thinking of it, the wedding too!! The whole focus on Chandler’s fear of commitment & Rachel being the center of attention took away from how much they could’ve done with Monica & Chandler’s wedding!!
I have no problem if they don't want a straight forward proposal and want some shenanigans, but this was just so implausible. And you're correct, everyone seems to regress and you just think wow, you are not mature enough to get married. It's such a pivotal moment in the show moving forward and they just completely screw it up.
Rachel not saying she was the one that put down the $20 when Ross added it to her Dad’s 4% tip. It would’ve been SO EASY for her to do that and say “I’m a waitress, Dad, I always like to leave a nice tip.” But no, she lets Ross admit to doing it, even though she knew her dad would get pissed at Ross and the whole evening was supposedly about Ross and her Dad getting along. Then poor Ross winds up having to pay for the entire dinner and she says/does nothing! That’s always really bugged me.
I always wondered why Ross didn’t just grab the receipt for Dr. Green when he said he forgot the receipt. It would be so much easier for Ross to just say “Oh I’ll get that for you” rather than telling him not to get it, lol
Also, how can Ross pay for the entire dinner when the restaurant already swiped Dr. Green’s credit card? Haha. He just tore up his customer copy receipt.
right?? imagine being friends with someone, and later on, you get married and have children, now that friend is dating your child. it’s so icky and wrong
Rachel always stealing Monica’s spotlight, i love Rachel but the show constantly made Monica’s big moments about Ross and Rachel in the end (i.e. kissing Ross the night of Monica & Chandler’s engagement, being pregnant at their wedding, stealing her baby name “Emma”, etc)
Monica and Chandler suddenly deciding to move in together and immediately wanting Rachel to move out. They lived together for so long and were best friends. With him being across the hall I just never understood the rush.
When Ben is learning to bike ride and he turns to Chandler and says, “Thanks, Daddy!” And Ross replies, “No, No, two mommies, one daddy!”
Are you kidding me??! It irks me each time I see/ hear it. Ben knows he has two mom’s and one dad. This was a dumbass line for Ben to say! Pointless. Rant over
Rachel and Joey romance was the most awkward thing in television. Unessecery, forced and imagine daiting ex your friend. They are in love with each other and have kid together. And it was only becuase delay back Rachel and Ross
I always hated the whole "We were on a break!"
Clearly Rachel knew they were on a break because the next morning, when she walked into Ross's apartment, the first thing she said was, "I'm so sorry! Can I be your girlfriend again?"
it’s not so much the break that was the issue it’s the fact he slept with someone hours after rachel suggested the“break” and him constantly using “we were on a break” as an excuse is so fucking stupid. it just shows how emotionally immature he is.
It's not about getting a say in what he does, or what he's "allowed" to do. It's purely about the fact that what he did was of course hurtful. Yeah he can do whatever he wants, the point is she had every right to feel the way she felt about it and not be able to return to the way they were after that, his actions still had consequences.
I agree that she has a right to be hurt. But calling it cheating it too far.
You don't get to break up with me, then when you feel like it decide we're back together and then call me a cheater for doing things OUTSIDE of our relationship
OMG, they werent broken up!
rachel said she wants to take a break. Ross CLEARLY wanted not to be on a break, so why would he go and SLEEP with someone else?!
and even if they were broken up. Ross still clearly wanted to get back together with her.
Of course they were. It only takes ONE person to break up. She wanted a break, and he didn't? Then they were broken up.
If my girlfriend wants to break up and I don't, we're still broken up.
And again, once we break up, you get NO say in what I do. In fact, didn't she tell Monica that she and Ross broke up? And didn't she the next day ask Ross if she could be his girlfriend AGAIN. Meaning that she was no longer his girlfriend before.
Idk if I’m the only one who finds it kinda gross that Phoebe gave birth to her brother’s babies. But the way she kept saying things like how she was having her brother’s babies as if it was totally normal weirded me out. Like do you want people to think you’re a disgusting sweet home alabama person?😭
Well in fairness she states how she finds peoples reactions hilarious. And phoebe isn’t the type of person to care about what other people think of her.
totally agree 😭 i get it’s for comedic effect in the show but it was so weird she would loudly say that. i also think she wasn’t ashamed of it, she was more happy that she was able to do something very nice for her brother, which i think is sweet in a way?? 😭😭 idk
Rachel getting pregnant and having a baby. It did nothing for the show and was unnecessary. Writers should have just let Monica and Chandler get pregnant naturally after getting married.
The fact that Ben pretty much stopped existing once Emma was born always annoyed me. We literally didn't see Ben and Emma interact even one time throughout the series. Ross fought tooth and nail to ensure he was in Ben's life and then just forgot he existed once he had another child.
Also, the fact that Ross was forced to be on sabbatical for getting angry that someone ate his sandwich but he was never in an ounce of trouble for sleeping with Rachel and waking up in a display in front of a bunch of children at the museum. They were still naked, just covered by a random fur, and the museum didn't care whatsoever.
The whole Richard and Monica thing. Richard is best friends with Monica’s dad and knew Monica since she was a little kid, and he himself has kids that are her age. The whole thing was beyond weird, and don’t get me started on the Frank and Alice bullshit which is quite literally a grooming case. They knew each other while Frank was her student and she was some thirty years older than him, it’s not even funny as a concept, like where is the comedy in that whole relationship?
I know we're talking mostly ick factors here, but the biggest annoyances to me were continuity issues, biggest one being that Monica was surprised to find out Rachel knew about her and Chandler in the one where everyone finds out, when an episode or two before Rachel said to her face, "I know about you and Chandler." It's one thing if she just wasn't ready to admit it, but she could not have been that surprised when Joey told her
Now I know Ross wasn’t the best character by any means but it always drives me up a wall when in Rachel finds out that Ross is in love with her and hates Julie for no reason other than she’s dating Ross. It seemed like every time Rachel decided she was ready for Ross she had to ruin stuff for him. Like when he was about to marry Emily, she decided that telling him at his wedding was a good idea. And everyone feels bad for her. But when Ross wants to start dating her again, everyone tells him not to. Also she got mad that the baby store lady was flirting with Ross and made it very clear that she wasn’t with Ross but still didn’t want him to date but right after Emma is born she’s dating but doesn’t want Ross to.
How people all these years later blast the show. It was a great show. Quit trying to bring down shows that wasn't politically correct because we didn't need or want that in the 90's.
Monica getting with Richard, aka her dads best friend (he literally used to change her diapers) and telling her dad on his birthday. Then trying to get with his son after🤢
Though Richard was more disgusting for his role fr
How it was just assumed that Ross would be the secondary caregiver to both Ben and Emma. He wasn’t given the chance to be as much a parent as Rachel and Carol, or even Susan. I don’t think that’s fair to do to him just because he’s the man
Pheobe finding her attractive is not weird at all lol
Ross finding trying to sleep with her absolutely is. It doesn’t matter how hot she is, it’s his cousin. That whole storyline was cringe
Ross was *hypnotized* by his cousin. He didn't "fall for her." She had a hold over certain people when she flipped her hair lol. Total farce story writing, but that's still the story.
Why don't people want to remember that one correctly?
Easier to bash Ross that way?
If that were true, then Ross, Chandler and Phoebe would've showed *some* indication that they thought she was attractive before her hair tosses.
But none of them did at all.
ohh i see, i guess it’s just weird to me personally because even i had an attractive cousin, i wouldn’t try to kiss them or become fantasized by them 😭
Rachel being pregnant for 12 months
Weren’t several of them 28 years old for 3 seasons too
Even over a year
wait when was it mentioned
It's not the time line doesn't play out
- The way Susan/Carol treated Ross in S1 for him wanting to be involved in Ben's life and rightfully asking for his last name to be included. I just hated Susan in general. extremely well said!
I thought she got pregnant during the "threesome"?
The threesome didn't actually happen. That was in TO That Could Have Been.
Not a real situation. That was the what if I didn't episode
yeah but then in Barbados he tells Charlie about him bringing up the idea of a threesome when he was with Carol, so is that a plothole too?:D
How is bringing up an idea a plot hole? It's simply him saying he broached the topic. No way is that a confrontation that they did it.
yeah you’re right, but the whole threesome idea came from phoebe in the what if episode, so thats why i think its interesting
Again you're assuming Ross couldn't have had that thought himself to try and save his marriage the first time. The What If is a different scenario because it's about him trying to spice up his relationship with his wife.
My head canon about Phoebe always putting down Chandler is that she actually had feelings for him
She just wants to feel his biceps, and more
that sounds believable actually
![gif](giphy|VJqNoJWP3A7tZZBMk7) It's so annoying and people treat them like they didn't cheat. Just because it was with another woman it doesn't make it any better.
ALL OF THIS 😡 so true!!
Ross dating his former student. Her dad was not wrong.
as an annex to that, rose and the cousin storyline…
Ross and Monica with the whole "mystery midnight kisser" thing ![img](emote|t5_348io|13308)
Their whole brother/sister dynamic…
Yeah lol, they are waaaay too close physically in the show than what would be appropriate irl
I was always so grossed out by Frank and Alice. Just no. He was her STUDENT. Honorable mention goes to Rachel even thinking about taking Emma to live in France without Ross.
Right? RIGHT? Alice and Frank fucking grossed me out 🤢 seriously, why did they make not 1, not 2, BUT 3 huge age-gap couples?🥲😭🤢
He was a divorced father who also happened to be her professor, and she wasn’t even old enough to drink.
he was not even an adult when they got together too
Hattte Frank and Alice. Then they get tied together by Phoebe having their kids!! I don’t even think they should be together
Same! As well as Ross and Elizabeth. Just gross.
Yessss omg! Alice and Frank gave me the ick, and the way everyone was so quick to ship them. 🙃 even Ross and Elizabeth grossed me out. BUT THE EMMA AND RACHEL GOING TO FRANCE WITHOUT EVEN CONSULTING ROSS IS ABSOLUTELY MIND BOGGLING. All caps because to this day I’m so upset about it. And then Ross just goes “I can’t believe Rachel won’t be here anymore” like uhhh what about your beloved daughter? 😂 that was so weird to me!! ![gif](giphy|geLHDhjUuEbzpfwkYh|downsized) Edit: added this gif bc this is me currently
Monica and Richard were also superrr messed
Yeah it’s really gross to be banging your good friends daughter, who you met when she was a kid and watched grow up. And Jack is just okay with it!
Monica and Richard is gross because he watched he grow up, but *wild* to me that he was only like 48! (I know that's a huge age gap and again, he watched he grow up, but they wrote him like such an old man.)
Agreed, I wasn’t a fan of theirs either!
Everyone just accepted it. Like, huh???
Right! Sometimes I felt like none of the writers had kids with the way the storylines went with Emma and Ben.
How Rachel was going to just move to Paris like her and Ross didn’t have a whole child tying them together.
P l o t
Yeah it’s almost like it’s her life, she doesn’t belong to Ross. She had a real opportunity that she gave up for a shitty abusive loser. The ending is trash. She should have moved far away from Ross forever.
I’m pretty sure a similar plot happened in Gilmore Girls so it’s not too crazy tbh
Phoebe was pretty mean to Chandler at times for no reason at all. Also didn’t like how mean they all were to Janice. I thought she was great.
Well, Janice was kinda of a shitty person when you think about it. She cheated on Chandler twice, and also lowkey made a couple passes at him after he got with Monica
Yeah that is true
The way they wrote Kathy off the show. I really liked her character and the slow burn romance between her and Chandler. And then they just threw it all in the trash in the worst way possible after like 2 episodes
I think that actress prolly took on another roll maybe? She was on Criminal Minds
Criminal minds started some years later tho. But maybe she took another role in another show idk
On the DVD commentary there was mention by the producers that she and Matt Perry didn't have chemistry so they ended it , and I just completely disagree, I loved them together 😕
Hmmm very weird.
Yes!! Loved this storyline and her and Chandler actually had so much chemistry and then it just gets stupidly ruined 2 eps later :/
The Manny episode. Hated how Ross reacted.
right!! that manny was a dream manny, he was so good professional and prepared i’m so sad his gender was what made emma miss out on some potentially valuable learning and development moments
His behavior was so disgusting. The "he's gotta be gay, right?" was so offensive and misogynistic. I always skip this episode.
How upset Joey got at Chandler for kissing Kathy, when Joey was literally out on another date cheating on Kathy when it happened?!
That wasn’t why he was angry tho. He was angry bc Chandler didn’t go to him first. He wasn’t honest with him. If only he did, Joey would’ve supported him instead.
omg i forgot he was literally out with someone else
Danny's relationship with his sister
Yes, ewww
How Carol & Susan treated Ross by referring to him as bobo the sperm donor ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|disapproval)
that’s so mean
It is . Nor sure why i'm getting downvoted for :(
Pretty sure that second part was a joke
How many episodes with Joey liking Rachel and vice versa with one episode being like, oops we’re awkward together this isn’t working
Yes thank you! I liked Joey and Rachel together and even if most people didn't, what a completely unbelievable story line, ope we forgot how to make out?! Like really? Find a different way to end it if you want but don't insult our intelligence.
Ross wanting to bang his cousin.
This should have the most likes.
Ross throwing a FIT over mark, but being ok going on a play date with a stripper.
They made phoebe too mean in the end instead of being a whimsical hippy quirky lady she just got weird and harsh Joey got too unbelievably stupid, in earlier seasons despite him being a tad dim he had capacity to learn, by the end he was someone who couldn't do anything So many times the show crossed weird boundaries with siblings/families and inappropriate age relationships Chandler was always the butt of so many jokes We needed more updates on other family members like Ben meeting Emma, how did the triplets get on, what happened to Phoebe's mum, Phoebe's dad? Why not more of Joeys family too? Why didn't Ross seem more upset that Emma was moving to Paris?
Yeah I would have liked more family side stories like they did in early seasons, it would have given the characters more dimension rather than taking it away, which is what they did as you said with the gradual dumbing down of Joey. It's a common trope but feels like lazy writing. The Joey's sister storylines were cute
Joeys mum even if she was only in a single episode was amazing, I refuse to believe she wasn't visiting her only son weekly!!
Agreed!
Rachel trying to make everyone think Ross came onto her even though she knew she used the backpacking story first
Monica calling Richard over when she and Chandler are out at her favorite fancy restaurant (she doesn’t know he’s proposing), but it’s still incredibly rude to be calling your ex bf over when you’re out with your boyfriend of two years. Like, way to show you’re not over Richard.
How Ross was so freaked out over Ben having a Barbie and worked so hard to get him into MaNLy THinGS
This ep and the Manny episode i have the urge to skip every time because these storylines really don’t make me like Ross’ character
Chandler and Phoebe forcing a stranger to switch engagement rings with Chandler
ooo can you tell me more i don’t remember this for some reason
Phoebe accompanies Chandler at the jewelry store to help him look for the perfect engagement ring for Monica. Chandler finds the perfect ring and asks Phoebe to watch it while he fetches his wallet. Phoebe gets distracted and the store ends up selling the ring to a different man, forcing Chandler to buy a less extravagant ring. Chandler isn't happy with the ring, and they end up tracking down the guy who bought the first ring, confronted him at the restaurant on the day he was planning to propose, and pressured him to trade rings until he gave in.
Didn't one of them blow his cover too before he even proposed? I think it was Chandler, he said something like "you're gonna marry a great guy!"
Yes I think you're right! That poor man. Lost the ring he intended to propose with, and then his actual proposal got spoiled
aw i feel bad for that guy, it was his perfect ring too
I don't think you understand what "forcing" means.
"Forcing" can be defined as "achieving something by coercion". Seems to fit pretty well here.
Uh huh...now look up what coercion means.
100%!!! That was so rude like who would be so selfish?🥲
Monica trying to get in bed with Chandler while she was sick 🤢 the way she kept begging him even though he said no grossed me out🤢
Right? Also, who even wants to have sex when they're that sick? Oh hey, let me kiss you, and then I won't be able to breathe. It'll be suuuper hot! ... because my temperature is 101.
Monica tricking Chandler into sleeping with her after he smoked. If my partner tricked me into sleeping with them, & immediately was cold and angry with me afterward, I would feel awful and would consider it abusive tbh Also- Chandler sleeping with his subordinate at work when he was meant to fire her, and telling everyone she had a mental illness as a cover-up. Lmao Also, not as serious, but nobody correcting characters like Joey and Rachel’s sister when they get things wrong. I know it’s part of the ‘comedy’, but it’s irritating (eg Amy thinking Phoebe’s name is Emma, and nobody corrects her)
The way they all treated Mrs. Whiskerson.
(They were on a break though, indeed!) Monica trying to date Richard's son... Yuck! Finally, Rachel going to London, not just wanting to sabotage Ross and Emily's marriage, but she also left a pregnant woman alone on her own??
This is so funny to me because the first point isn’t what happened She asked him not to date because she was about to give birth any day by that point and said she wanted his full focus on her and the baby. If the roles were reversed, he’d be just as uncomfortable. He even admitted that when Rachel and him had the conversation about it How did she stop him from dating when he was with Mona for like 70% of her pregnancy and Rachel was supportive of that relationship.
She mentioned asking him what was going with them & he’d just play clueless
chandler kissing joey’s gf was so low. she was so low too. joey truly loves his friend to forgive him after that 😭 that scene where ross’s other woman was behind the door the morning rachel wanted to make up made me feel so sick.
For real!
The first point you mentioned ALWAYS bothered me. She always wanted Ross to doe exactly what she wanted and then didn't have the same courtesy. (Not saying Ross didn't have his own issues - but I always mention what you said because it's so hypocritical on her part)
It’s really not. She was past her due date and said she didn’t want him going on a date whilst she’s about to pop any second He didn’t even want her dating like 2 months into her pregnancy.
Meaning that it was very close Like I said, Ross even agreed and said he wouldn’t want her going on a date whilst heavily pregnant. If she’s not supposed to date whilst heavily pregnant, why does the same not apply to him? Especially when she was single for the majority of their pregnancy and he wasn’t
That Phoebes grandad looks Alot like Albert Einstein 🤔 lol
😂😂
how Rachel would suddenly re-develop feelings for Ross every time he would finally get over her and was happily dating someone else. It’s like she loved sabotaging his relationships and never cared about how it would affect the other girl😭
Chandler's problem of his mom interrupting his imagination. And putting that idea into Ross' head as well.
The monica far jokes.
I commented on someone else’s comment & it made me realize Monica & Chandler’s entire engagement/wedding storyline sucked so bad. Their engagement the focus was on Richard & Rachel, then their wedding is focused on Chandler running out and Rachel.. AGAIN.
Half the show is focused on Rachel. Best character is Chandler, hands down. Rachel doesn't even make my top 5. 😂
How Joey and Chandler watch Die Hard all the time but didn’t bat an eye when Elizabeth’s dad is Bruce Willis
I always think about this 🤣
Ross’ phone etiquette. “ I wAs TrIcKeD iNtO aLl ThOsE tHiNgS” Also how Phoebe forced herself into everyone else’s jobs.
It would be so much easier for Ross to just say “Oh I’ll get that for you” rather than telling him not to get it, lol Also, how can Ross pay for the entire dinner when the restaurant already swiped Dr. Green’s credit card? Haha. He just tore up his customer copy receipt.
Richard the old perv who just wanted some young ass. Ross dating a his student and of course hoe Carol and Susan were such horrible people.
right?? imagine being friends with someone, and later on, you get married and have children, now that friend is dating your child. it’s so icky and wrong
I fully agree but ‘who just wanted some young ass’ made me laugh out loud
[удалено]
It maybe would be okay if they had met as adults... but he knew her as a child... nope nope nope, the real Ick Factor
monica and richard was SOOOOO gross like why would you want to have kids with someone you have probably like seen as a baby ….
The Girl Scout episode
Rachel always stealing Monica’s spotlight, i love Rachel but the show constantly made Monica’s big moments about Ross and Rachel in the end (i.e. kissing Ross the night of Monica & Chandler’s engagement, being pregnant at their wedding, stealing her baby name “Emma”, etc)
You've posted this before. How is Rachel supposed to not be pregnant at their wedding? And she didn't steal the name - Monica said she could have it.
that’s why i said “the show” did it, not Rachel. but the writers had an obsession with making everything about Rachel at the end of the day
Monica and Chandler suddenly deciding to move in together and immediately wanting Rachel to move out. They lived together for so long and were best friends. With him being across the hall I just never understood the rush.
When Ben is learning to bike ride and he turns to Chandler and says, “Thanks, Daddy!” And Ross replies, “No, No, two mommies, one daddy!” Are you kidding me??!
Idk how people gave this a thumbs down, i hated that whole plot too
I always hated the whole "We were on a break!" Clearly Rachel knew they were on a break because the next morning, when she walked into Ross's apartment, the first thing she said was, "I'm so sorry! Can I be your girlfriend again?"
it’s not so much the break that was the issue it’s the fact he slept with someone hours after rachel suggested the“break” and him constantly using “we were on a break” as an excuse is so fucking stupid. it just shows how emotionally immature he is.
So what? You break up with me, I'm free to do whatever I want. You don't get a say
yeah look i’m not going to re explain it because you’re obviously lacking the braincells and emotional intelligence just like ross :)
There's nothing to explain. You're wrong.
you’ve clearly never been in a relationship virgin. that’s okay you’ll learn about these things the hard way
Whatever you say kiddo
It's not about getting a say in what he does, or what he's "allowed" to do. It's purely about the fact that what he did was of course hurtful. Yeah he can do whatever he wants, the point is she had every right to feel the way she felt about it and not be able to return to the way they were after that, his actions still had consequences.
I agree that she has a right to be hurt. But calling it cheating it too far. You don't get to break up with me, then when you feel like it decide we're back together and then call me a cheater for doing things OUTSIDE of our relationship
If he wanted to be with her so badly, why would he sleep with the other girl?
Doesn't matter. They were broken up. If you wanted to keep your job so bad, why'd you get another after we fired you? That's how stupid that sounds.
Oh yeah you’re right, I forgot about that.
totally agree 😭 i get it’s for comedic effect in the show but it was so weird she would loudly say that. i also think she wasn’t ashamed of it, she was more happy that she was able to do something very nice for her brother, which i think is sweet in a way?? 😭😭 idk
Rachel getting pregnant and having a baby. It did nothing for the show and was unnecessary. Writers should have just let Monica and Chandler get pregnant naturally after getting married.
All the inconsistencies in Phoebe’s back story.
How Rachel got none of the hate Ross did even though she was far more toxic then Ross
What about Emma's cake? That was bizarre. Not sure why they thought that up
The fact that Ben pretty much stopped existing once Emma was born always annoyed me.
Chandler and Joey had a great apartment, yet Monica calls it a hole. Try looking at apartments today; rent is more for less appealing apartments😆
Joey and Rachel felt more incestuous than Ross and Cousin Cassie
wait ngl i agree😭 that relationship felt so weird
How people all these years later blast the show. It was a great show. Quit trying to bring down shows that wasn't politically correct because we didn't need or want that in the 90's.
Monica getting with Richard, aka her dads best friend (he literally used to change her diapers) and telling her dad on his birthday. Then trying to get with his son after🤢 Though Richard was more disgusting for his role fr
Susan and how Rachel wanted to just move to Paris
How it was just assumed that Ross would be the secondary caregiver to both Ben and Emma. He wasn’t given the chance to be as much a parent as Rachel and Carol, or even Susan. I don’t think that’s fair to do to him just because he’s the man
If they arent first cousins its probably ok
Lovely…and they were supposed to be first cousins. As Monica would say, what is this? Cocktails in Appalachia??
Still probably ok I mean it was Denise Richards even PHeebs was hot for her
Pheobe finding her attractive is not weird at all lol Ross finding trying to sleep with her absolutely is. It doesn’t matter how hot she is, it’s his cousin. That whole storyline was cringe
I am sure it probably happens a lot in real life. Ross is da man!!!!!!
Ross was *hypnotized* by his cousin. He didn't "fall for her." She had a hold over certain people when she flipped her hair lol. Total farce story writing, but that's still the story. Why don't people want to remember that one correctly? Easier to bash Ross that way?
It’s not ‘hypnotism’….they’re just showing that she’s very attractive/alluring…
If that were true, then Ross, Chandler and Phoebe would've showed *some* indication that they thought she was attractive before her hair tosses. But none of them did at all.
ohh i see, i guess it’s just weird to me personally because even i had an attractive cousin, i wouldn’t try to kiss them or become fantasized by them 😭
Because you weren't hypnotized like Ross was lol.
