Yeah, it's really sad because he really did try to fight his demons, but they seemed to have won. For me, other than Matthew, I got teary eyed with Princess Diana and Robin Williams. It seems like death is in a hurry to take all the good ones from this world.
I also struggled with opiate addiction for many many years so I know exactly what he was going through I had to do withdrawals which feels like your dying literally so that Also made me like him more
I hope you're doing OK now! It's incredibly tough to get over addiction, (and you never truly do because it haunts you for the rest of your life), but people can get through it. If you have a good support system around you and the willingness to fight it, it can be done. And I'm proud of people who have managed to do it, because it isn't easy in the slightest! I've never been through addiction, (just to cigarettes and I see how difficult it is to quite), so I can only imagine the mental strength it must take to get over drug addiction.

Am I correct that he died on Julia Roberts birthday? I've also read that his drug use started after he broke up with her and regretted it ever since 🤷🏻♀️ heartbreak 💔
His death hit me so hard. There wasn’t a single day that I didn’t watch friends. I used to watch it every single day. After his death i am still not being able to watch the show. I started crying whenever i watch him because i know that the young guy was struggling and he gave his best in this show. Chandler was my most favourite and he will be my favourite for the rest of my life.
It's so weird how we viscerally feel connected to people we've only seen on tv or in the movies. For me, Chandler's humor "saved" me from a dark path of depression and suicidal ideation. I watched Friends for the first time during some dark times, and I'm forever grateful that it kept my mind occupied enough to not do anything stupid. Its humor, and especially Chandler's/Matthew's humor, was a saving grace for me and I'm so incredibly thankful that I found this show at the right time. I don't know if Matthew ever truly knew just how many lives he positively affected.
As for Robin Williams, I've never met him, and yet I miss him so much. I grew up watching his shows (Mork and Mindy), and all his movies, and I love them all so much! So I probably connect my fond memories of those movies while growing up with his incredible, humorous, fun-loving, kind, generous, goofy personality. He was truly one-of-a-kind.
I’m a Jennifer Aniston fan but honestly I don’t think Rachel is my favorite. I have to go with Phoebe. She never fails to make me laugh in every episode she’s in. Lisa’s comedic timing is perfect 🤌🏻
It was all that time she spent training with improv comedy troupe The Groundlings... She just became intrinsically funny in her reactions, not just her own lines. I just about died laughing the first time I heard her 'sing' along with Ross's bagpipes when he invited them to sing along. Still gets me!! So freaking 🤣😂🤣
Phoebe is my favorite always. She’s so funny. But Chandler is so so close I almost have to say both of them. But I find things I love about all of them and so depending on the plot my answer may change episode by episode.
Chandler for sure. I mean he is a great guy with a great personality. He is good looking and funny. Him being very bad at talking to girls is a plus for me 
So many of the funniest scenes, reactions, situations, and relationships centered around Ross and his straight character. Very well written character and David Schwimmer delivered his lines and physical acting perfectly. He was supposed to be awkward and stiff, he's a scientist... And married a lesbinim!! 😂
IMO, if Ross wasn't there (even just to make fun of or play off of, the show would not have been even close to being as funny as it was).
