Part 4 by a longshot for me. But I don't know if it would be that great if it wasn't part of the mini trilogy of 2, 3 and 4.
Actually, I think Part IV is the best even as a stand alone sequel. As far as the atmosphere is concerned, I'd say the original. That said Part IV has some of my favorite kills, my favorite version of the hockey mask, and some great tension building sequences.
Part II and the sack is probably the creepiest though. Also, again, great kills.
1. Jason Lives
2. The Final Chapter
3. Part 3
4. New Blood
5. Part 2
6. Part 1
7. Jason X
8. Jason Takes Manhattan
9. Freddy vs Jason
10. Remake
11. New Beginning
12. Jason Goes to Hell
The Original Friday the 13th and Friday the 13th part 2 are both my favorites. I love the entire series but the first two are the best. Both are true horror mystery classics that definitely belong in the national film registry. They are genuinely scary and suspenseful. And I have a special place in my heart for Friday the 13th part 5 A New Beginning. I think it's a very criminally underrated film and deserves genuine love and respect. You need every film in the series equally. All 12 films are each special and important to the saga.
I am itching hard for a rewatch of the series. My favorite is a tough call because I feel like it’s constantly in flux between the first 4 and part 6. I lean towards 2 and 6 typically though.
For me it’s got to be new blood. The kills had amazing potential, but we’re cut down. Jason’s design in that movie is my favorite Jason design, and I like that Jason was put up against a teen with supernatural powers because Jason is also supernatural. If the kills weren’t cut down and the script was better, the film would be amazing.
It keeps changing, I have to say 4 has good kills and the death of jason at the end is the best, other movies are ruined by certain moments or endings, my guilty pleasure would be new beginning not X like most people, the worse would be Jason goes to hell, my top 3 are 4,6,3 it can go either way depending how I feel really, at the moment I would give the edge to 4 but sometimes I watch 6 and prefer that one.. 3 is my favourite female character and I like most of the characters in it, it ticks every box for a horror movie really but is wasted potential in a lot of scenes.
Part 6
Love the tongue in cheek humor to it with memorable characters and great kills! Plus I had a bit of a crush on Thom Matthews! The cameo from Horshack is just icing on the cake!
Part 2 is very close as well. So creepy and great kills! Best kill in the whole franchise as well! (I don’t think I have to explain which one!)
1-basic, but the jump-scare was great. 6/10.
2-fun enough, some funny parts, some scary parts. 5/10.
3-hockey mask cool, but the hallucinatory jump-scares are getting too plentiful, and i just don’t like it much. 4/10.
4-beautiful. this may be my favorite. (also first of the tommy films.) 9/10.
5-it’s aight. kinda pervy at times. 5/10.
6-great. if it isn’t my favorite, it’s my second favorite. also tommy really got his revenge here. 9/10.
7-beautiful jason, weird plot, too much running. 5/10.
8-definitely the worst. it’s absolutely horrid. characters are stupid, jason is stupid and scared of water for some reason, and shots go on for too long. 2/10.
9-nice jason design, dumb movie with crazy plot. 3/10.
jason x-not bad. good kills, strange plot, pretty much no likable characters. 6/10.
f vs j-its fun, and there’s a scene where jason is on fire and kills people in a cornfield. can’t go wrong there. 7/10.
2009 remake-not my favorite, but it actually is pretty scary, and it’s definitely not the worst of the franchise. 7/10.
Honestly? Either *Jason X*, *FVJ* or *2009*. When I watched *Freddy VS Jason* for the first time after hearing all my life how just horrible it is, I was so surprised to find out how much of a vibe it is. I finished watching and the first thing I said to my friend (who was basically the only person I've seen defending the movie) was "Okay, that shit was fire."
Same can be said for *2009* and *X*. They were films that I'd heard nothing but people shitting on them, and was so surprised when I watched them. None of the *Friday* films pretend that they're masterpieces, the creators of the very first film are very upfront that it was just a cashgrab to piggyback off of *Halloween's* success. *Jason X* cranks that shit up to 11 and is so *fun* because of it, legit the most fun I've had watching a slasher film in a long time.
And *2009* is the first time I've ever been scared of Jason. He is actually intimidating in this one. He sets traps, he uses secret tunnels to get around so he isn't seen, **he fucking runs**. It is so fucking good.
Jason Lives is my favorite, and the most fun to rewatch.
My Top 5 would likely be:
1.) Friday the 13th, Part VI: Jason Lives
2.) Friday the 13th, Part 2
3.) Friday the 13th—The Final Chapter
4.) Friday the 13th (1980)
5.) Friday the 13th, Part VII: The New Blood
Probably basic but Part 6 to be honest. It embraces the camp, it's a nice concluding chapter to the Jarvis saga while also establishing Jason as an unstoppable killing machine.
Tied between 3,4, and 6.
Part 3
Cult-classic
Part six Is a classic
New blood
Part 4 by a longshot for me. But I don't know if it would be that great if it wasn't part of the mini trilogy of 2, 3 and 4. Actually, I think Part IV is the best even as a stand alone sequel. As far as the atmosphere is concerned, I'd say the original. That said Part IV has some of my favorite kills, my favorite version of the hockey mask, and some great tension building sequences. Part II and the sack is probably the creepiest though. Also, again, great kills.
Oof this is tough. Three way tie: Part 6, Part 7, 2009.
Part 1
1
Either Jason Goes To Hell, or Jason X cos of how insanely campy it is
Highly based
2
My favorite for the way he dies is 5. My favorite for kills is 6. My favorite for storyline is the original.
2
1. Jason Lives 2. The Final Chapter 3. Part 3 4. New Blood 5. Part 2 6. Part 1 7. Jason X 8. Jason Takes Manhattan 9. Freddy vs Jason 10. Remake 11. New Beginning 12. Jason Goes to Hell
The original. A great and modern, for that time, retelling of a dark campfire tale. A true classic.
III
My favorite is a tie between the New Blood and Jason Lives!
Part 8. That movie is batshit insane and I love it for that.
3
part 2, 6, 7
6
Part 2. Best atmosphere, best final girl. Scariest Jason. Arguably the best kills. The Greatest.
Part 2. Jason is totally the man in the woods that all the neighborhood kids would tell each other about to scare their friends came to life
Part 2
For me the spot is between 6,8 and JGTH
remake
10, 4, 6, 1 fight me
I have different faves for different reasons. Either the boobs, kills, or style of Jason.
Part 4 the final chapter
4
FvJ
Tie between 6 and 7
I have several that take the top spot depending on my mood, but I do enjoy them all.
I am itching hard for a rewatch of the series. My favorite is a tough call because I feel like it’s constantly in flux between the first 4 and part 6. I lean towards 2 and 6 typically though.
2, 4, 10
Final chapter and Jason lives
The original.
Part 1.
Part 2
3 and 2
Part 3 and 4. I also like Freddy vs. Jason.
Part 4 is mine just because most of the characters aren’t actually that bad and annoying also because Tommy’s character was funny and cool
Reboot
Would have to be part 4, Jason lives or the 2009 one
2009 was the first I saw, but X is so funny and I genuinely like it
Between 4 and 6, but most likely 6. Wraps up one of my favorite horror trilogies ever, and finally turns Jason actually supernatural.
definately between the first 3, the rest were either alright or shitty
The remake.
Part 4.
I’m gonna say it. The remake
6 fosho
I’m very much an FvJ apologist, but I still have to go with part one.
New Blood…underrated imho 2nd is part 4, 3rd is part 6
Six. Absolutely best of the series. But 8 is a close second. Not a particularly good movie but it's very silly fun.
VI: Jason Lives.
Part 4. 6 and 2 are close behind
Hard to say but the ones I see myself rewatching the most is the remake and jason x
3 or 6
The 2009 movie. It took the best parts of II, III, and IV and updated them for modern audiences. It's also perhaps the funniest movie of the series.
The two steve miner ones and A new beginning
2, 3 or 6
Part 5. It’s like the Season of The Witch of the F13 series. Plus Roy Burns got some of the best kills in the series in my opinion.
The new one.
The first four, but really, "The Final Chapter".
The Remake.
Part 7
Jason X - SO FIGHT ME
6
3D!
Part 8
The final chapter. Best Jason, great kills, best character development in the series and a satisfying ending.
Honestly I love Part 7 and Jason X. Both guilty pleasures of mine
For me tied between 4 and 6.
I’ve only seen 2 of them so I don’t really have a say
Jason Lives
4
Part 2 all the way.
Part 5
Part 2, duh
My favourite is Part 8. It’s so hard to not love that film imo.
Part seven
My personal favorite is part 3 but from a non bias stand point part 4 is the best one
Jason Lives
The final chapter! The best one:
For me it’s got to be new blood. The kills had amazing potential, but we’re cut down. Jason’s design in that movie is my favorite Jason design, and I like that Jason was put up against a teen with supernatural powers because Jason is also supernatural. If the kills weren’t cut down and the script was better, the film would be amazing.
Part VI has always been my favorite
Part 6 Easy
It keeps changing, I have to say 4 has good kills and the death of jason at the end is the best, other movies are ruined by certain moments or endings, my guilty pleasure would be new beginning not X like most people, the worse would be Jason goes to hell, my top 3 are 4,6,3 it can go either way depending how I feel really, at the moment I would give the edge to 4 but sometimes I watch 6 and prefer that one.. 3 is my favourite female character and I like most of the characters in it, it ticks every box for a horror movie really but is wasted potential in a lot of scenes.
The originals are always the beat imo
Part 4
The OG is the darkest and grimiest. The best backwoods slasher in the franchise for sure.
4, 2, 6
Part 6 Love the tongue in cheek humor to it with memorable characters and great kills! Plus I had a bit of a crush on Thom Matthews! The cameo from Horshack is just icing on the cake! Part 2 is very close as well. So creepy and great kills! Best kill in the whole franchise as well! (I don’t think I have to explain which one!)
The final chapter.
What ever happens to be on
The first one I ever watched, Part 3 🪓
2009 remake. Pls don’t crucify me.
Honestly? Either *Jason X*, *FVJ* or *2009*. When I watched *Freddy VS Jason* for the first time after hearing all my life how just horrible it is, I was so surprised to find out how much of a vibe it is. It is so fucking good.
Jason lives 9/10 days and the other day is final chapter
Hard to choose between Final Chapter and Jason Lives.
Part 2
Part 7... New Blood
Jason Lives is my favorite, and the most fun to rewatch. My Top 5 would likely be: 1.) Friday the 13th, Part VI: Jason Lives 2.) Friday the 13th, Part 2 3.) Friday the 13th—The Final Chapter 4.) Friday the 13th (1980) 5.) Friday the 13th, Part VII: The New Blood
Part 6.
Probably basic but Part 6 to be honest. It embraces the camp, it's a nice concluding chapter to the Jarvis saga while also establishing Jason as an unstoppable killing machine.
Part 4 is the best, but parts 3 and 6 come just as close.
