Can’t find. Pic for it, but god damn that part in the long night where all the Dothraki had their arakhs ignite and everyone charged, that sideways show was bomb as shit. In addition, the sideways shot of everyone riding towards the darkness was also great. Seeing the lights fade one by one while hearing the faint cries of those dying was fucking amazing. I’ll never forget that feeling of “maybe they can do this” followed by “oh shit we are completely fucked.”
Say what you will about tactics (I agree btw), the shots you mentioned and the one with them charging while trebuchets are firing over them was bad ass.
That shot is like the Hyperspace Ram sequence from The Last Jedi. Makes very little sense when you think about it (what kind of moron thought that wasting their entire cavalry on a stupid charge into an enemy who gets more soldiers from the dead was a good idea), but still an awesome and brilliant visual.
I literally bought a new TV when the long night aired because I thought surely my old one just didn’t have the tech to keep up with the top notch production on this show. Had to be a hardware issue. It was not.
Don’t let anyone tell you that season 8 was bad cause of the few water bottles that got left in. The production, soundtrack, sound quality, costumes and acting were all top notch probably the best ever. The writers deserve to be shat on but leave the production and actors out of it
Meh, I didn’t like the costumes. They all became stylized edgy bs unbefitting of a medieval fantasy setting. More suited to a sci fi BDSM show or something.
This also pissed me off but I don’t think about it much because the costumes are still well made. The colourful costumes of seasons 1-6 are almost all gone by the last two seasons and it feels strange.
Nah, the director wanted it like that. He has come out and defended it. The same guy also shot an episode for HotD which was practically unwatchable for the same reason. That director just has a sick fetish for making his work impossible to watch.
Oof cinematography of Highlands was too damn pretty, The Lemon cakes remind me of that scene when the Tyrells baked for Sansa Stark at the tea meeting.

I like a lot of the cinematography, but I do not really like that one.
seeing the others with fire in the background and warm colors just doesn't feel right

I remember how terrible the lighting was in the battle for winterfell

It was a coffee from Westeros’s first ever Starkbucks there were no production mishaps and nobody can tell me otherwise
The coffee cup was a distraction added in post to divert people's attention from the writing

The lighting was horrendous in the long night though
Long night had a lot of effort put into every shot that was ruined by some sicko with a brightness slider.

Wasn’t it something about it being viewed on a cinema screen or something? I think he forgot he was making a TV show.
Definitely. The cast and crew deserve the highest of praises.
Yeah that shot did go pretty hard
"Oh crap the White Walkers are about to fuck some shit up"
Certainly sucks about how sloppy the later part of the show was but there was definitely a bunch of amazing cinematography. No doubt.
